Awesome video Rex🤙🏻 With both screens turned on the entire event would you say the iPad charge lasts over 2 hours? As for the R6 we can just take a couple of extra batteries. I love your teachings brother 💪🏽
TY homie, you putting out some xlnt content as well. Can definitely do 2hrs. Anything beyond would recommend adding battery pack. Adds weight as well, but with the monopod you can set it down.
Thanks for the video. What are the advantages of this setup over using the DSLR Booth program with a PC/Surface Pro? What I see here is exactly what I do in DSLR Booth. Is there more that it can do? Please let me know the advantages of this setup. Thanks!
Great question, the advantage of dslr to iPad is longer battery life, stable OS, and advantage of data analytics in some of the iOS apps. One platform vs 2 when doing an iPad booth or dslr. It’s the same app.
@Rexsphotoboothreviews Gotcha. I don't do any iPad booths, so I'm just trying to compare Snappic (which I hear is great) to the DSLR Booth software that I mostly use. I can see the data analytics in Snappic being an advantage, if/when needed. I was thinking I could have the iPad plugged in for continuous power (instead of on battery) as I do with my DSLR cameras. However, I guess you can't plug in the power cord of the iPad if the camera is tethered to the lightning input, correct? So the iPad *would* have to be well charged before the event... So, besides analytics and the iOS platform, what features or abilities would I gain by using Snappic over DSLR Booth software?
@@jeffreycaron922 there are plenty of benefits, it just depends on how you use it. If you roam with it like in the video, a surface battery wouldn’t last long and it’s heavier. If you are content with what you’re doing, then there are no benefits.
I love this!! Everything I've seen so far requires a computer. I want everything via the iPad but with my DSLR. Question- can guests trigger the camera via the IPad or do they have to trigger the camera itself? (I could setup up a remote trigger- but I'm wondering if the program will trigger the camera?)
Good day sir. Do you have video how to connect ipad 12.9 to Lumabooth to Dslr Canon. I Tried this snappic app its work properly. But when im using lumabooth its not recognizing my dslr canon
Both work well. Output will look similar. Our mono lights are predominantly plugged in and hard wired. Most of the speed lights I’ve seen are battery operated and can be triggered remotely. You can add an umbrella to either one. It’s really your preference.
sorry to sound thick but im havng a nightmare setting up my photobooth, just to confirm i can use this device to connect my camera and ipad, so that the camera takes the photos controlled by clients pressing the ipad to choose photo/boomerang ect? thankyou
Absolutely, 💯. When running the Snappic app on the iPad connected to a dslr, the guests can walk up to the iPad, tap here to start and will initiate the dslr to take a photo. The app can add artwork to the photo and allow guests to share it right on screen
The app works fine all the time. The first boy issue is texting if there is no internet. You have to wait until you have good internet to send, you can continue to take photos or videos
This is awesome. Do you provide this as a "roaming" type of service ? I'm not the biggest fan of the circular roamer but am interested in this type of mobile set up.
It’s photography service with a twist. Need to evolve as a photographer. Many times ppl will go to an event. Get their photos taken and never know where it ends up. Now you can share instantly. #beDifferent
Can this be used as a "self service" photo booth by allowing users to touch the screen to take photos or does it require you to use the dslr sbutter button?
What equipment is needed to set up the iPad to the camera? Cords etc? Battery pack on iPad or no? Options for longevity. Will this work with iPad mini. 🤔
Most camera batteries can easily last 4-5 hours so you wouldn't charge the camera. You would just switch out the batteries. That's what ALL photographers do. But if you need to charge the ipad, you use an ipad adapter like this. amzn.to/3wodo9Z
I would do this but turn the Ipad on to the other side so the customers can see the picture and text to themselfs this is Exatcly what we use with the same Sirui Monopod and iPad pro 12.9 on a Round aluminum surface and ring light but HATE the crappy quality of the iPad front Camera this is EXACTLY what i wished we could do thanks so much how did you mount to the monopod
Do you have the camera on auto or manual mode? Also does the camera get triggered by touch screen to take photo? Or do you need to use the camera itself.
Depends on how you set it up. If you set it up like a Photo Booth. You need to select on the iPad gif or photo then you can click with camera. The session is initiated from the screen
I see the guy actually taking the pictures on the camera, so does it not automatically signal the camera to take the photos? Do you manually have to push the button?
On the touchscreen you select still photo or animated gif, then you can trigger with camera button. Dslr to Snappic is still considered beta until they can test all 275 cameras available on the list.
What is the hardware details. You said luckyfrog monopod. Don’t know that brand. It would be nice if you listed all the specs. Brand of monopod, iPad holder details, camera link and lens link etc.
Absolutely, will put specific links and details in the link in the future. But to get you further along in your journey, any monopod, camera on the Snappic list will work. Adapters and cables will depend on the camera you decide to use. All a matter of preference
I spoke to a specialist at a photography store (b&h in NYC) he told me that I wouldn't be able to connect my canon t100 to my ipad (for my 360 photobooth). He said that my ipad wouldn't receive the video. Thoughts? Do you think this is the case?
I couldn’t find a way to make it happen, I bought a canon m200, mirrorless camera. I forgot to buy the appropriate cables to connect the camera to the iPad. I’ll test both, if I can get it done with the t100, I’ll return the m200
What is your flash set up? Do you have a video on that? My camera has a hot shoe but I am still not sure on what to purchase speed light?

So you would need a splitter usb for charging the iPad? What is recommended?
what about prints? can it print to a something like. DNP printer?
What settings do you have your camera? My screen on the iPad goes dark for some reason but the photo quality is perfect? Idk what I’m doing wrong

I have r6 and r100. Sometimes software doesn’t see camera or it appears and disappears. With an iPad and my Mac mini. Using all apple cables.

Can use the count down with the dslr?
You can set a countdown in Snappic 😊
Please tell how to print on your set up when using an ipad😮 if using lumabooth i know how to print use lumaassistant
This is amazing. Can I connect a Canon or Ipsen selfie camera to use it as a photobooth?
I would check with snappic compatibility list to double check if your. Camera works

Guests trigger with ipad touch screen. I prefer not to allow guests to touch the camera.
Rex can snapic also be set to count down to auto take the next pic after the screen is touched to start the first pic?

Love the video but I call for a debate over how we say GIF.
Ppl can pronounce it any way they like. The guy that invented the format Steve Wilhite named it Jif like the peanut butter.
Thanks Rex, guess you could always connect to a surface pro as well using this set up with ring light.
Yes you can!
Can this be used as a "self service" photo booth by allowing users to touch the screen to take photos or does it require you to use the dslr sbutter button?
Absolutely, that was the original intent of the the Snappic App. To allow users to tap the screen and use as a photo booth
Love this concept. Now how to make this work with my Pearl Photo Booth
doesn't work quite yet with the Pearl, but I would definitely mention it to Dustin

What software are you using.
The software is called Snappic. Available on the Apple iOS store.
