Well said Luke, as a 992 GT3 Touring owner I completely agree. This car excites me already just by the looks. The engine is a masterpiece and you don't need to drive it at 10/10 to enjoy. Nowadays very few cars give you a comparable experience.
I couldn’t agree more on this point. I have always had a thing for the way the AMG twin turbo V8 engine sounds and now that I own one as a daily driver it just excites me every single time: I hop on my car, fire it up and start smiling! Watching Luke’s videos, as well as others, I have to say the way Porsche’s engines sound, especially the aspirated ones, may take this feeling to the next level as all you really want to do is throw a few gears up and down, without even having to adjust your driving style to be too uncomfortable. Excellent, quality built cars, no doubt! Who knows maybe one day…
Lets be honest, there are many guys and girls out there whom are really clever and knows cars inside out, technicalities and modifications. What makes Luke sitting at the top beside all that mentioned is his personality, taste (in everything) and humor. Locations and filming taste are top tuned ☺️ Luke I just want you to know that I still enjoy watching and listening to every vid you make. Thanks mate, for being as you are. Cheers from your fan in Copenhagen. Ciao ✌🏽
Good shout out on how important it is for a car to feel exciting when driven slowly. Interesting that Porsche have gone back to normal door handles on the ST - you'll have to get one now!
Love your channel luke. When you emphasized the importance of enjoying low speeds you nailed it. I’ve got the bgts 4.0 and it also makes me smile in low speeds when i hear that 4.0 na 👌🏼
Luke, you're absolutely spot on regarding the need for an expensive super car to excite at any speed. And this is the reason that even the most outrageous EV falls short for me. I have a 992T and drive it every day, and enjoy the experience at any speed.
You are so right to point out that one is able to enjoy a sports car at relatively low speeds, if you are lucky to have a worthy engine (5-cylinder, flat-6, inline 6, V6, V8, or supercar territory), listening to the changes in engine note through gear changes or simply pottering along at city speeds at rumbling revs. Especially in a country such as Switzerland, as you well know ! Speed can be exhilarating, but it’s just one of the many factors of driving enjoyment.
Crazy that its been 9 months a member of this community, and that was at the time I came across your first review of your own Porsche 992. Love the content so much Luke. LSO
That's what I love with my modest manual Cayman 981 too, drive at slow speed is a joy too. And if I want to attack, it's also a joy. It's my daily and I have now 150'000km in it, without ANY issue (that's crazy compare to other car that I own in the past). I'm happy to ear that the GT3 keep that quality
I have to say: Thank you! Thanks for your inspiration. I visited switzerland last weekend (again, iam about 2 times a year in switzerland) and drove the grimsel / furkapass with my RS4 - it was breathtaking!
"You don't need to go fast" . Thank you Luke! I agree 100% with this philosophy. Let's respect others on the road. A 992 GT3 or my Exige V6 360 Cup for example, give a lot of pleasure. I love your spirit.
I love what you did with the stock wheels! Personally prefer this look over the previous black ones...not that those weren't nice as well. And just wanna say, I was smiling the whole time you were driving...completely enjoying the symphony from your car!
As good as the car itself, your cinematography, Just top notch. Beautiful to watch. Also think the original gt3 wheels better looking than the ones you ordered. Even more in that bronze color. Perfect.
I so agree with your sentiments, Luke. A sports car needs to bring joy at 1/10th - not just 9/10ths. You’ve also got me thinking about Weiss Gold wheels for my 981. I wonder how it’s Carrera Classic 20s would look in that colour…
Love myself an early upload and waking up late so I don't have to postpone the watch on such a beautiful Sunday. Your GT3 videos are always fantastic and fun to watch. For me, the GT3 just feels perfect/accomplished in multiple ways, depending on how I feel like I see it's perfection in a different aspect. Some days it's perfect driver's car, other times it looks to me like a piece of art, on the other days I lose my mind over how beautiful does that 6 cyl sounds, on some occasions I admire it's refinement and build quality to the fullest (I will act like I didn't hear you talk about door handles 😅). There are hundreds of fantastic sports cars out there but I can't think of many that tick so many boxes. I definitely like these wheels more than the black ones (colour wise at least, maybe it was the red details that ruined the previous ones for me) although I can't think of a better fitting colour for yours other than indigo blue or simply silver. Looks neat nonetheless. :)
Lovely car!!! Can’t think of any other vehicle I’d buy if I could go for that price point. Great video too! It is the right duration and no BS fillers. It made me get up the bed to drive my Manual GR Supra on the country-side. It will bring me some joy, but in a different way 😄
These wheels look 1000% better, your car looks like a proper piece of kit, it's stunning. Also not having the mud guards in black looks much cleaner imo
The 992 gt3 is one off my dream cars with that amazing sounding 4.0 f6 na I love it my dream spec would be in purple with neodyme color wheels or in some kind off Porsche grey with neodyme wheels but this spec is also just beautiful i love it amazing content luke!

🙌 I 100% agree with you and you spoke what has been on my mind for a while. My s2000 is 20+ years old and 11+ years in my ownership, but speed limit hasn't changed in 50 years. 🤷♂ I find the power plenty enough for me to use although it is perceived as snail comparing to modern fast cars. Maybe I am biased and simply cant afford newer shinier toy so I am saying this. I do enjoy the build up of power+speed+rev with my car. It is enough for me. Even at 50km/hr, when I try to glide over a corner with a good race line, when I try to heel & toe well, enjoying that momentum shifting, feeling that weight transfers then sinks down on the outer front wheel .. etc, it is just mega fun. I haven't been to the track and I don't feel like I need to cos I chicken out beyond 140km/h. I am happy to play down here. Anyway, you spoke what has been on my mind for a while.
Nice, love the S2000! And yep you’re very on point, have to realistically have fun is some people don’t talk about for some reason and the importance of your car being fun a low speeds also.
You are living the dream Luke! This is my bucket list car. Maybe someday! Also, I love where you live. The mountain roads must be awesome in Switzerland? I’d love to go there someday. I lived in northern Japan for the last years of my career in the USAF. Which also has great mountain roads The car culture in Japan is one of the best in the world, but outside of Tokyo you don’t see many 911’s! One more blessed day driving your beautiful GT3 for that pleasant step. What is your opinion about the brand of titanium exhausts (ipe)? You have considered lowering the mass of weight by mounting the original Porsche magnesium wheels; together with the titanium exhaust that you have mounted, you would already have a few kilos less. Thank you very much for this new video and it would be great if you could get the new Porsche 992 S/T with manual transmission, an experiment between a gt3 rs and a gt3 touring. Love your work, Luke. Although I think your criticisms could be less watered down.
- The seats are hard on your lower back without the 'roll a towel' and put it behind the lumbar cushion trick.
- The motor makes proper torque above 6,000rpm, which makes the car feel very mild, maybe even slow under this rpm.
- The sound is boomey at mid range rpm, and can sometimes be annoying/fatiguing.
- The car is exciting and exhilarating at the limit. But it's not much different to any other sorted sports car at below 80% of maximum input. I agree with your comment that it feels like a race car that's wants to be pushed to get the most out of it - reality is, this is rarely possible on the street (unless you have a significant risk appetite).
- The car is compromised as a street car, but it has to be, it was designed to perform well on track. Otherwise you'd buy a 911S. Nothing wrong with that, sacrifices regarding comfort need to be made to achieve higher performance, but it should be said.
- The suspension is firm without being rough but it can be fatiguing over long drives - especially with the hard carbon buckets.
