      Exactly. Defense is 50% of the game and MJ was the best perimeter defender ever as far as I'm concerned - and even if you don't, he's still top 5 easily. Offensively, he had it all including passing but that wasn't his main job - still, those huge mitts for hands gave him the ability to make the sickest passes. Nobody had more moves than MJ at the rim, in the post and anywhere else on the court. People think LBJ is complete because of ESPN's constant advertising for him - passing is his job as the only playmaker on Cleveland. While he may be offensively balanced, LBJ has few go to moves, especially in the post - and he's just a decent defender. There's really no comparison here - MJ is by far, the superior player.

As a result, he probably made more difficult shots from distance than Jordan. That’s not to say he made more difficult shots than MJ in total… all you have to do is watch Jordan’s highlights to see that. But MJ was very rarely forced into difficult shots without being double or tripled teamed. He just had so many skills and the athleticism to completely shatter his opponents. Kobe never got on that level. No one really did. There was a five year stretch that Larry Bird had which was maybe comparable to Jordan’s ten year stretch of dominance because of Bird’s skill, shooting, vision, and IQ. Obviously, he didn’t have the athletic dominance of MJ…

His most meaningful 3 point shooting performances were in the playoffs where he shot 6 of 10 in gm1 of the '92 finals and 6 of 9 in gm 4 of the '93 ecf at the same 3pt distance as it is in today's game.

    Man, Kobe copied MJ's footwork and moves from ... 92. They still work in 2019. If MJ is in today's game, man I think he would train himself to be a great 3 pt shooter and then he would be unstoppable. Too close, he would drive on you, he could shoot that mid range, shoot 3 or dunk on top of everyone and get to the foul line 15 times per game. He would avg close to 50 ppg. And if he had great shooters around him....oh my, just passing out of double team.

    • @makhabzaranamane6869

      These defenders are hopeless, can't have a premier 1 on 1 player with this many mismatches and airspace to shoot. He'd average about 35 in todays game because of these stupid switch defences, 50 is a stretch.

      MJ was asked about his 3 pt shooting in an interview before and what he answered to the interviewer is that he doesn't want to focus on it because he felt that when you shoot a lot of threes you're lazy lmao He prefers the more efficient shot srlection hence he's wallowing in the midrange.

    • @grapplerke
      @grapplerke 5 років тому +2

      FBI CORPORATION 69 Cause Jordan didn’t develop a three point shot until 1989. Early on in his career he was just driving and dunking. Jordan also shot over 40% from 1995-1997, however, in his last Bulls season in 97-98, he decreased his attempts from 3.6 3PA to 1.5 3PA and shot an abysmal 24%. From 1984 to 1989, Jordan shot well below 20% for threes. Career wise, Jordan shot 33%, which is exactly the same as Kobe Bryant.

    For those of you who wanted to look up the full stats, Jordan shot 22/37 for 59.5% including 6 for 8 from the arc. For those of you who'd want to discredit MJ by saying he hogged the ball(despite him gettint 10 assists), Jordan had the highest FG% out of all starters.
    A lot of people forget/ignore this but MJ was a decent long-range shooter, especially for his time. He rarely shot 3s except for desperation 3s. But whenever he made enough 3s to matter (more than 1 a game) he always averaged over 35 percent. For a guy who never considered 3 an option, that's pretty good. And he knocked down several clutch 3s in his career.
