now make another one about the Iberian knight orders :D The order of Santiago, of Calatrava, of Alcánatara, and the Portuguese orders of Avis and of Christ
Just a small point, you said "in antiquity, it was believed the Templars found the Holy Grail" The term antiquity is generally used to refer to the Greco-Roman period.
History forgot to tell that more than 2000 soldiers of rus-vikings orthodox participated in these campaign. They played a crucial part during the siege of jerusalem wich helped to breach the city with the help of thier siege warfare experiece.
@@tonyscalze4077 Livonian Order or the brotherhood of the sword they were founded in Riga Latvia they folded into the Teutonic Knights. All you have to do is type both of them in and you can read about them 👍🏻
Excellent general explanation. This overview helps understand the Intention, Structures and Timeframes of the Crusader Era. For an overview you provide a rigorous breakdown. Thank you for your effort and research.
That's was like reading a new book , about the three great knight orders . Am very interested the Crusades. As in other things in history . I like cooking at both parties. Christians and muhammadans. But that's a breath of new informations . Very rare in books , documentaries and internet channels ,that you know about must things. Especially on IN channels. Even though you learn something new. Which is good. And it a reminder of the knowledge in your head. But this was worth saving to watch again. Well done . Brilliant researching. 👏👏👏👏😊
Napoleon the hospitlars and guys like Saladin where actually working together samwitching western bloodlines in the chaos because they are not originally western.
One question These military installations were created to protect christian pilgrims going to holy land from Europe. It ended when cruseds ended. But after its end how christian pilgrims went to holy land safely from Europe ?? Or christian pilgrims stop going to holy land at all ?? Or found new ways ??
You keep calling them "Orders of Cavalry" instead of "Orders of Chivalry", even though you got it right in the title?! Also, 'many could not resist that painful journey' would normally infer that they couldn't find a reason to not go on the journey. You used the "could not resist" in a totally incorrect context. You also spelt "Hospitallers" incorrectly and referred to them as 'the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, otherwise know as the Order of the Knights Hospitaller.' This is incorrect, as they were founded in Jerusalem and didn't move to Malta or have any reference to Malta for hundreds of years afterwards.
Religion was more of a tool than anything for the emperor. He saw it’s usefulness when granting the people comfort but he was adamant that the Catholic Church had too much power. He essentially kicked the catholic church out of France and welcomed them back upon his coronation as emperor. Famously, he had the Pope hand him his own crown so he could crown himself.
The view of moral principles being the ultimate authority was considered a relic of the medieval age by Napoleon's day. Europe saw pragmatism as the foundation for judgement more and more as time went on, and faith mattered less and less.
We need these orders back to restore respect and bring the fear of god to the infidels that disrespect our ways , customs and beliefs and if they don’t put them to the sword like king Richard the lion heart 😮😅
Why did you skip parts of Teutonic history? Teutonic state cease to exist in 1525. You also didnt mention battle of Grunwald. It's like telling a completely different story.
Knights Teutonics German 🇩🇪 Crusader ✝️ Saint George ✝️ Iberia 🇪🇦 Latin 🇮🇹 Roman Soldier And Crusades 🇬🇪 Semitic Aramaic ✡️ Today Tbilisi Capital Cities Georgia 🇬🇪
i dont believe they found the arc of the covenant, cause no human hands can live to touch it & also those knights aren't of any true blood descendants of King David.
Story Time (...) Zeus opens the door and enters the room, he sees three women( one of them is his wife.) "Aww y'all are precious." Zeus said, he went over to them and kissed each and every one of them except Hera. "What about me ?" Hera asked, "Go back to bed," Zeus replied. "I'm your wife," Hera said, "So ?" Zeus retort.
The Hospitallers were never soldiers, they were only a religious order, hospital monks to care for pilgrims, but they hired mercenaries to protect them. It was the French knight Roger de Moulin who created the Frêres d'Armes Hospitaliers, a military order to protect them and made them one of the most powerful armed groups. As with the Templars, the vast majority of these knights who made up the Hospitallers were French knights.
They did include knights that were involved in many battles throughout history. Consolidated at least a portion of them into the knights of Malta which have a long history of naval defense of the Mediterranean.
"Looking for wealthiness." Try "looking for wealth.". So, okay, that is poor English. However, it is not true. Typically Crusaders had to raise funds to participate and they more than often lost money. They knew going in that it would be a sacrifice.
I love your videos but I have one doubt what do you think on india because you never made a historical video on india but you only made mythology on hindu gods. Please reply.
A teoutonic knights fought rusians mate? Ruthenians maby, but mostly poles and lithuanians, rusia wasnt even a thing back then and its a fake name, stolen name, dirty moscovites thats who they were. So teotonic knights never fought russia and they were defeated by polish-lithuanian alianse and went extinct. Then few hundred years later they become a kingdom of prussia
You seem to have left out the fact that Germanic (Germany did not exist then) knights killed thousands of Jews as the marched toward the holy land. And that chivalry was NOT the romanticized version you put forth here. That came about much later.
I could listen to these videos all day..I often listen to them while I'm doing other things 😊
Busy playing PS5 while listening.

Knights Hospitaler is my favorite military order of the crusades...
In actuality they were trying to control and Bring Order so they could get their Hands on the Apple of Eden.
Love the deep cut on this
Napoleon was actually on the Hospitallar side. It was just time for a new order.
These are the old dragon. New dragon is here.

5:43 and that's when Altaïr ibn-la'ahad comes in...
As a dude I would love to have been one of these knights.
What about The Order of Mountjoy? They completely perished during the Battle of Hattin...
I've seen a Hospitalier building in Bulgaria.

So what im gathering is that napoleon is the main reason the knights orders are all vanished from combative purposes.
Anyone knows If post war there was a brotherhood of the teutonic order founded by bishop Alois Hudal?

Wonder if the teutonics ever fight in the holy land?
Short answer,yes
They took part in Acre and the Teutonic order started in Jerusalem
how many times do kings understand that striking a literal armed monk was a good idea ?
which is ironic because none of the YT "historians" ever mention anything about the monastic element
