Keith Emerson simply was a god. When he finally realized he couldn't be a god anymore he decided he couldn't live as a mere man.
I'm going through the same thing with Parkinson's slowly stealing my abilities. Sometimes I think about it too.

    An absolutely stunning performance.
What’s amazing is it took nine top class musicians to re-create what three did so many years ago. I cut my teeth on ELP and had seen them live on multiple occasions.
Love you Keith, love you, Greg, keep the face Carl.

I do not consider the star-studded lineup as 'pulling it off'. This was an enchanting rendition of an epic tune that Greg Lake wrote when he was like 12yo!, and it was thrown in to make up time on their first album! One can totally hear the Carl Palmer 'on the spot' comping going on. Priceless!

Eddie Jobson's rendition of that legendary Moog solo was absolutely amazing. Those notes surely carried much emotion that night, and they soared in nostalgic waves of analog magic and memories. Emerson's fans must have been very moved.

I can't believe I work for the company the just acquired Moog! I came pretty close to purchasing the Model D a couple months ago (surprise, serious company-wide discount), but it's just not 'practical' for my road rig - landed an Akai MPC Key 61 for peanuts, relatively! I still consider getting the 'D' for my 'studio', though, someday. But, the new Muse may change that thinking.

What a performance. Thank you so much for bringing me back to 1973 -74 when I first saw ELP. The concert was in the Mid South Collesium I in Memphis, Tennessee. It was in Quadraphonic sound and it was the most perfect concert in my life. They recorded it live for the "Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends"album. I was 5th row from the stage. Just before "Lucky Man" you can hear a guy shout out. That's my proof it was recorded there.

Lucky Man is an interesting choice for a tribute to Keith Emerson. Greg Lake wrote it at the age of 12. They needed another track for the Emerson. Lake, and Palmer album and didn't have anything. Greg simply thought about the song and said "Hey, I've got this song I wrote as a kid. Let's do that." Emerson initially didn't even like the song and refused to add anything to it. Instead, he left to go to a pub while Greg and Carl recorded everything. When Greg and Carl finished, they had to practically drag Emerson into the studio to listen to it. They wanted him to add a part. The synth at the end was done in one take and wasn't supposed to be recorded. Greg was just wise enough to understand that beautiful accidents sometimes happen, so he pushed the record button and the rest is history.

Wahnsinn!!! War ne geile Zeit.👍👍👍
