- Having read Guy Shrubsole's 'The Lost Rainforests of Britain', I explore the beautiful woodlands of East Dartmoor and look out for the epiphytic plants which live there. Also contains a number of very daft jungle film references.

Another excellent film. Thank you.
Wonderful, George! 💚Love seeing you in your creative element - so much fun! I got the "clever girl" reference, of course. 🦖😉 Impressive acting skills from the pony too! 😉
Great vid, sorry podcast (not a podcast) and absolutely fascinating! We love Lustleigh Cleave too… what an amazing place! Really hoping they do allow/enable the woodlands to expand! 😍
Thanks for this video. I mean podcast. I mean ... :)
Excellent 🌲🌴🌳🎋
Wistman’s postage stamp needs a lot of expansion before I even start calling it a wood. Great show again George 👍 looking forward to a new mushroom season video
Thank you! Found a big batch of Chanterelles today, but didn't have the camera for a change!
More of a high moorland, barren plains man myself, but I do enjoy a trip into the rainforest on occasion. I do use 'temperate rainforest' in my films but aside from the obvious moss/ferns I've never looked into why they should be classified as such, outside of hearing the term and realising it was common sense. You explained it pretty well. I must get a copy of that book. I missed all the film references, I did wonder what flavour of mushrooms you'd had when I saw the pixelated person. Think you missed a great chance at Tarzan...or George of the Jungle.
Ah! How did I overlook George of the Jungle!
Can think of several small isolated bits which fit this bill. Interesting. Expansion, great, as long as it is allowed to happen naturally. Got 2 of 4 film refs!
Rare Lichens, Ferns Growing On Trees, Big Cats. A Rainforest If You Ask me Me!
JOCK! JOCK START THE ENGINE!
Actually did film an Indiana Jones bit, with me finding a geocache and quickly replacing it with a bag of powdered milk, but it didn't come out quite right!
Excellent watch again. Just one question, open fire on Dartmoor??
Thank you!
And, yes, fair question... can I claim it was AI generated?
No. In reality, I was tired of being eaten alive by the midges, and found the right combination of an existing fire pit, some ideal dead wood, and a patch of forest that had no chance of catching fire in the damp. Anyway, excuses excuses! It was an act of (careful) anarchy.
@@thedartmoorpodcast now I love this answer. Keep up good work
PS don't worry about being a cynical grump; cynicism is a defense against credulity and gullibility while inside every grump there is the unspoken search for joy.
