Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.
There is the old adage of men going through their second childhood when they hit their 60's. Most of them are buying sports cars(Vettes, Camero's, etc.). I seem to have drifted towards the SAA Army and lever action rifles. Seems to be less expensive and just as fun! Keep em' coming, Hickok!
Yes, MY "middle-age crazy" stage and "Old-Age Crazy" stage simply led me to more guns and cooler guns. :-)
Besides, when one is as handsome as I am, there's no need to buy a hot car to attract women! :-)
I say the same thing Hickok! 😂 @michaelblackwell3789 I’m 54 and I’m at that stage as we speak. 👍🇺🇸
In the age of AR's, AK's, Glocks, etc., I always gleefully click on these "old west" firearm videos the quickest! Thanks for showing them off again!
Modern guns look the same, and are always boring. Great to revisit the classics.
@@vodago I disagree, although I like the look of antique guns, modern guns are far from boring.
@@vodago also ironic you say modern guns look the same when the guns shown in the video also look the same, with minor differences
@@JoeKurr5 someone’s mad their Glock is uglier than sin
@@robacdc1977 someone’s mad that their obsolete“wheel gun” wouldn’t stand a chance in an actual self defense scenario.
Next year - 2023 - we are expecting a BIG celebration of this revolver from you for the 150th anniversary!!
Also for the winchester 1873
Hell yes.
Hear, hear! Yes, indeed! You called it right, caltx01! 8D
holy cow your right!
Hopefully I'll still be around for the 200th anniversary of 1873 Single Action Army Revolver.
My son, now 22. The first rifle he fired was Hawken plains rifle in .50 cal that I built, loaded light ;-) The first revolver he fired was a Colt 1860 Army. He was around 12. On that day, I walked him up through the history of guns, so before we shot a gun I would introduce him to the history of development of that particular style of gun. On that day, the last rifle he shot was a AR10 and the last Pistol he shot was a brand new 1911. He now has multiple guns, he is actually better than the old man some days, but he needs to get more time on handguns. It is hard to compete with someone who used to shoot 40K a year from a handgun, but at least I believe he has a good teacher. (He was introduced late to guns because of his mother, she went insane every time I said I want to take the boy to the range, and insane is not a figure of speech)
Lovely story
He made a fatal slip, when he tried to match Hicok45 with a Big Iron on his hip.
...Big iron on his hip....
As a good friend and Colt SAA aficionado says concerning grips 'Happiness is just a screwdriver away'.

Just bought my first Colt SAA. I own a ton of Italian clones, one USFA, and one Standard Manufacturing SAA. Can't wait for the colt to arrive. It was customized by Doug Turnbull, so it is going to be awesome with the color case hardening and fire blued screws. There is something about the SAA that just makes you feel in awe.
I have a Colt 38/40 that has been passed down to me from my Dad's side of the family and I love it. And I will pass it down to my son.
Hickok I appreciate that you virtually never say ‘ummm’. You are a great presenter my friend, thanks so much for sharing your expertise.
colt saa and 1911.. two hand guns that were built to last in terms of quality and design.. they're classic and timeless..
"Back in the 1800's when I was alive" Have we been watching the ghost of a cowboy all this time?
As monotone as you are, it adds so much to the content. As a 19 year old I can't own a pistol but I am a sucker for historical firearms and you help me to indulge my needs of period firearms
What a coincidence, also 19, and appreciate historical firearms.
You could always start with a cap and ball revolver, unless illegal where you are.

@@norseman5041 That's awesome, he is a lucky boy. Insane for my wife and guns is also an understatement. lol
My absolute favorite Colt design of all time. Especially the 4.75 inch version. Simply as beautiful as a weapon could be.
Never to late to watch another Hickok45 video! Sleep is no excuse!
You're telling me, I work 2nd shift and usually watch after I get home from work. I find myself at 3AM sometimes still watching!
Life is good 😅
Man, I have to say, thank you for your content, you reminded me of my grandpa, he unfortunately passed away 16 years ago, and I still cry when I remember him, thanks for your content, it usually helps me getting though these moments, I'm really grateful...

The Colt Single Action Army. Six bullets... More than enough to kill anything that moves. : Revolver Ocelot
Except he never loads 6, only 5.
@@MrTruckerf I think that back in the day they probably loaded six. The safety notch is pretty strong and the best safety is between the ears. I could be wrong though, I often am.
@@3ducs dollar in the 6th to pay the undertaker
Watch it again.
@@3ducs sorry but these hand guns don't have safely notch. How I know I have these colts too. You must be thinking about the Rem. Cap and ball. Black powder
No way I could afford an authentic Colt SAA or an actual 1858 New Army...BUT I have a Pietta 1858 New Army replica and that thing is a good gun! I put a Kirst conversion 45Colt cylinder in it. Fun to shoot and accurate - doesn't shoot too high or low (at least not within 10 yards).
Just sold one of my grandfather’s 3rd Gens. Both of them are nickel plated with 4 3/4” barrels in 45 colt. Both are beautiful firearms. It was hard for him to let go of the first one. The 2nd one will be like pulling teeth! If he still wants to sell it.
1800's when you were alive!!!!! Love it.
I finally got my first one last year. A Colt Nevada Centennial 1864 - 1964 with case. It is pretty.
Thanks for the great presentation Hickok. There's nothing like shooting Colt SA revolvers!
I will get a single action as soon as possible, you have encouraged me to do so. thanks Hickock 45
Once again, great show....like a Colt 1911, a single action Colt .45 is a must have. It’s always been hard for me to put together the money for a Colt but I wanted one. While I was in the local Bass Pro shop one day there it was...calling my name. It was not a Colt but it was the next best thing I guess. I was looking at an A. Uberti 1873 Cattleman EL Patron .45 LC 5.5. After studying on it for a good four or five minutes....you guessed it..... I brought it home with me. The Colt was just out of my reach but the Uberti wasn’t. I’ve had it for about five years now and it’s been a pleasure to shoot. Side note, I could not afford a Colt 1911 either so one day in a local gun shop they had Springfield 1911 A1 on sale and like the Uberti it followed me home. Great gun. Who knows, one day my ship might come in and I will get that Colt. Life is good
Just thought I'd check on this great video . I was hoping it wasn't taken down. Looks like you have had to edit it . Thank God you saved it. Thank you Hickok 45.
I only have revolvers and lever action rifles. They are the best guns to have and for several reasons.Thank you for this video.
Great video. Love my Colts also. Life is good! Your friend Dan from Jersey, Defending the 2nd.🗽🦅🇺🇸👍
It doesn't get more beautiful then this, right? Fantastic. Wood&steel, great craftsmanship, I LOVE it.
Thanks for sharing, appreciate it a lot.
Greets, T.
I don’t ever shoot my Gen1 Colts...they are full of history even though I’m sure they’d operate like the day they were made. It’s an homage to the craftsmen and gunsmiths who built those old guns. That skill set is being lost. I would Only allow a few old master colt gunsmiths to work on my guns. I have the same love for old Colts like you do! Wonderful video and I really respect how you teach the History, safe handling and responsible gun practices to those that are new to firearms. Thank You!!!!!
In the age of the internet, Hickock45 is the most genuine person on it. What a treasure.
Watching a Hickok video will cause me to smile no matter how bad my day has been .
Thanks.
You can't beat the classics!
As someone who just got one of these for my birthday I definitely enjoy these from the firearms of today. There’s just something really beautiful about the fit and finish of these ☺️ I personally enjoy my bolt action long rifles but these are gorgeous.
The timing of this video is crazy to me... about revolvers... because I am planning to go to the Orlando gun show this weekend to pick up a silver tone revolver... just because a revolver was the first introduced gun to me at age 7.... grandpa's rusty destroyed revolver I use to play with in Jamaica as a kid :)
Love the single actions and I love the 45 Colt cartridge. A real sweet spot in shooting. It has been around this long because it just plain works.
Always great to see a Colt 45 the best ever👌
My favorite year 1873!!! SAA Mr Hickok 45 Sir you sure set a pretty table. 😀
I do love the Classics and the Old Fashions guns. The Colt Saa is one of them and I would really want to have one or am two sometime in the near future or farther , specifically the Man With No Name Colt Saa by Cimmaron and possibly the Original Calvary Model
Thanks Hickok45 for another fantastic video. Everything you post is informative & truly appreciated
Hello 👋 I hope you're safe over there? I am Markus from Key West Florida 🇺🇸 and you?
I hope this year brings prosperity happiness and love 💞 all over the world 🕊🤗🙏
Mr. Hickok45 Sir, it seems like every day you make a video it is a good day for you. Keep'em coming.
Well there's John Marston! Oh nevermind it's Hickock playing HIS version of Red Dead Redemption.
I have an Uberti 1873 Single Action thanks to you Hickok, I really love it and shoot it as often as I am able!
I don't know why I get surprised, but I always love the joke about getting a silencer for an SAA! :)
What an awesome Colt SAA collection Mr. Hickock 45!
I can definitely understand your addiction. I love the single action Colts. I love your videos, especially when they have SAA Colts or other revolvers of the old west(percussion revolvers).
Thanks for sharing.
Hooray for celebrations! We need more of that! What do you mean you look, "lame?" I think you look great and I wish I had such an outfit! Hickok45, you just keeping being you! =)
And I love the silencer-for-revolver jokes over the videos! Ha ha!
"Uh, oh! Bad place!" says he when he shoots The Cowboy! Ha ha!
You look great, Hickok!
To have such minimal sights I can shoot my SAA pretty good….I think the circular shape and putting your target at 12 o’clock on that shape of the revolver help somewhat. I like fiber optic sights on my modern handguns. Love shooting the SAA, and loading it and feeling the nostalgia.
Oh my at all that awesomeness ! Thank you hickok45 for letting my eyes feast on all the beauty.
Absolutely right on your point about rocks, knives, baseball bats, etc... They can be just as deadly, if not more so. And even carrying a cowboy gun is better than nothing at all!
“Load one, skip one, load four”…the man’s wisdom knows no bounds.
cant keep my eyes off that beauty of a knife.
Ive been watching you for years. I will say for the record, you and your son are amazing.Thankyou for all the good times!
My first handgun was a Ruger single action revolver. I still have her.
What a great collection of Colts. Love that big Bowie too.
Good show love those old guns.
In the 1970’s my uncle was a deputy sheriff in Rico Colorado an he carried a 4 3/4 colt single action army for his side arm they are my favorite hand gun
These guns are so classic, thanks for sharing.
Bought a Standard Mfg single action revolver after watching your video about it. I own several revolvers but that’s my favorite. Thanks
Can't beat the classic revolvers. Single action all the way
Love the video very educational 👋🏽👍🏽
This is the only channel where I automatically hit the like button before the video even begins. Thanks for being reliable, Hickok. You have never once let me down.
Thanks for sharing your expertise and inspiring shooters like me! I just purchased my first Colt after watching your videos.
Old guns rock. I have a heritage rough rider in 22 mag. There is something neat about old designs that just work.
Six bullets.
More than enough to kill anything that moves.
God I love metal gear
Just found your channel and been watching all your videos. Really enjoyable 👍
Welcome to the channel. Same happened to me 4-5 years back and I'm still happy as can be
welcome to the channel, i got new account but been subbed for years.
Now all you need is a Colt model 1878, or 1883 shotgun to make your collection complete.
Favorite guns, favorite channel!!!!! Ironically, I was made in 1973.
Always a good day when the six shooters come out to play
My first single action revolver was a Colt New Frontier 22LR then an 1851 Pietta Navy. I have four SAA and three 1860 Army conversions and an 1872 open top.
Mr. Hickok45 says I are a cowboy be with my holster and me am plain and simple as you see !!! I too are a cowboy at heart !!!
I love seeing Colt's! They are so cool!
I am jealous that you have a box of .45 Colt ammo. Really hard to find right now!
It's out there online but you still have to pay a hefty price per box of 50 and the cheapest I've found is around $60 dollars a box !!!
The history of firearms is the history of the country!
Hi ! I too am 68 that is young. Shucks, only 6'2". I spent the day at the" Rondeau Rod and Gun Club" and of coarse had a blast. I shall be signing up to be tested for approval for my FAC. I did finding myself quoting you, well I've been watching you for a few years. I should have the results on May 16Th.Best regards to you and yours. Ian Herries.
This shines, really shines.
Wow! A table full of sweet firearms! The Sweetest!
Very nice 😊, love my Colts
Great video! Thanks from a SAA Lover.
Hi Greg, i love your Videos. Best channel in UA-cam. My Daddy is born 1950 as well.
Stay healthy, and best greetings from Germany

I can't think of any other gun channel with anyone who can shoot like you unless it's in a movie lol 😁👍🇬🇧
Always keep stuff like this coming. Videos like this are something special, great history!
I really love your old western gun videos. Youre awesome!
Love Colt revolvers! Pieces of history for sure! Picked up a really cool police positive! The bluing is amazing and it has the Rampant Colt stylish C logo!
I have single action Rugers from .22 to .44mag. All great shooters. Love single action.
lets all just think about the time and work they do to give us these videos and that they all keep us entertained Hickock GOD Bless you and thank you 🙏
I have a nickel Colt SAA .45, 5 1/2", 2nd Gen. "Old World Engravers Sampler". It has examples of Nimske and Wood style engraving., w/ bison grips. Still unfired!
Your videos are not stupid they are very educational. Thank you for pointing me over to Buds gun store they are really great. Thank you for doing all your videos I appreciate the information they give me.
I know this is a conversion model video but thought I'd give tell you a story.
Here in Texas it gets damn hot. So hot that while sitting in my backyard deer blind waiting for a jackrabbit whose been eating at my feeder, the bore butter in my 1858 Remington .44 melted, seeped around 3 balls and fowled the powder so despite the caps going off, the rounds didnt fire.
I took my gun into the air conditioned house, let it get cold, cleaned the nipples with a pick, let the powder dry then put on new caps, returned outside and they fired off. Conclusion: lubed felt pads are better than bore butter in hot states.
I have a 22 single action heritage and love it. For sure going to get a 45 LC to add to my collection
It’s cowboy time! 🤠

Great video as always! Keep safe buddy and take care!
awesome pistols john thanks for the shootout----happy trails
The old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" just shows the quality of the design.
Beautiful collection, thanks for sharing.

Single actions are like stepping into a time machine.
I was gonna say, that gun's in great shape considering it was made in the 1890s.
Trust those days were best
Considering now
If I could own only *one* handgun, this would be my choice! Closely followed by the 1911A1.
I'd really like to pick one of these up some day. I'm guessing they're multiple thousands of dollars now? 😳🥺
Thanks for showing them big 🐕
hickok45 looking good pops shout out to you and John much love and respect.
