After 15 years as a tv commercials director and postproducer, I had a couple heart attacks which got me almost retired 15 years ago. On December 27th this same year, I will be a 50 year old frustrated filmmaker who never made a movie of his own. I've had an original Gopro Hero HD since they came out, and last month I finally could afford an entry level DSLR, the Canon Eos Rebel T6. I've had several analog SLR's on the past, but this last 15 years left me without a wife, without my 4 children, without all my possessions and without a desire to live. I almost went homeless but I found a wonderful woman who put me up in shape enough so I've decided I'm gonna make my movie this year. And I'm counting on this T6. But winning that T7i could really be that boost I'm waiting for. Did I mention I have developed diabetes and I'm getting worse everyday? Don't wanna die without making that movie. And If I don't win that T7i, doesn't really matter. I'm gonna do it anyway even though it's the last thing I ever do. Good luck, guys!

Does the monopod work as great as a tripod? Monopod looks to be much easier to tackle with than a tripod

2022 UPDATE: This camera is still killing it for me...I use it on weddings and commercial shoots and no one has ever questioned the quality. I downsized from the 1DXii mostly as a way of challenging myself with limited gear and have been happy with the results. Not to mention, the file size and form factor of the camera are much more manageable!

How stable is the mono pod really? Is the camera at high risk of falling over with the mono pod if it's not being manned?

Hi, does the 80D also focus the same as you did with the T7i to make it sharp? I am so unsure if I should go with this cam or with the 80D... as I want to use it mostly for video on product reviews and makeup. (I also love photography, but it isn't the main use for it). Do you have a better Canon you'd recommend for my needs? I need the autofocus to be very good as I will be showing products and want the cam to focus quickly on the products and be clear and sharp. Any suggestions? LOVE this video by the way! Binge watching them all week!
Are you green screened? Because if you are that's incredibly sharp! also, love the T7i!

What about default sharpness of 1080/30 and 1080/60? Mostly 60fps look not that sharp as 30.. Still don't know if still need this camera or wait for T8i (need 4k these days, this T7i absolutely not enough for shooting in high definition and watch on big TVs).. But dual focus is a great feature. Although they may add 4k in T8i but dual pixel will be unavailable in UHD videos.. :/

Camera doesn't matter if you have a good eyes and imagination you can make awesome videos or photoes.
i have Canon 800d and when i go to video settings i can see 1920X1080 @50 fps only there is not 60fps on my camera ? why

becky boodoo just watch tony and Chelseas (I can’t spell lol) videos and live streams and u should learn a lot. I personally thing u should spent that money on decent camera and a good selection of lenses. And then spend the rest on travel and experience after u watch all the videos I recommend

Nice video, but some things I would like to critique:
1) I wouldn't say that a monopod is a good replacement for a tripod. A tripod will always give you a more stable image. Monopod should be used when you expect to move the camera a lot
2) faster shutter speed is not always better - it depends on the look you're going for. For a film look, lower shutter speed (2x aperture) is better as you actually want the blur-look for moving objects

Hi TbonesTech, I tend to film nature scenes(waterfalls, foliage, trees, Killer Whales etc) but what can I do to stop it pixelating the whole time?.
I can't even pan in among trees without it pixelating and even heather beside the waterfalls looks pixelated and that's on a tripod :(

The T7i is probably the best camera for UA-cam, hands down, especially for people just getting into things. It's a reasonable price, and takes great video. My only complaint is that the photo side of things could be a little better for what you're paying.

Using a monopod would make me nervous. Seems like it can be easily knocked down. I guess it's just meant to give you extra stabilization on the Y-axis, so you're not bobbing the camera up and down?
