The first few months at college were really hard, I could hardly eat and I felt so depressed. I literally sat in the middle of my dorm room one day and rocked back and forth crying because I was so lonely. That day I decided to walk down the hall and see if anyone had their door open and two guys had their door open and were playing video games. I ended up playing with them and they became my first friends there. Fast forward to now, I was introduced to one of their friend’s and am getting married to him in less than 20 days. And my first friend at college is in the wedding party.
Eh I feel like they are influenced by false info a lot of the time cause they exist more on the internet than in day to day society. Particularly pet gurus on youtube and they're sponsors. They're pretty out of touch (like most youtubers are) with the average person.

As someone going to college soon, that college talk, in the beginning, was so helpful and nice to hear. It has been really been stressing me with the change and it is nice to them hear talking about it.
ria gupta I went go to community college. It’s affordable and it’s a good mix of people. You get some older adults, young adults like yourself, and some teens doing dual enrollment. So you get some outside views of the world instead of going to university which is usually filled with people still with the high school mindset (no offense) plus no roommates. But college isn’t bad. It’s pretty fun. The work can be tough and you’ll sacrifice some sleep but the main thing is discipline. They won’t hound you like before so you gotta get yourself a system. And make friends. Join clubs n stuff. Some people just go to class n that’s it but that’s boring you know? Definitely find a group or club and socialize. That’s all I got. Just some advice I’ve learned. Oh and ratemyprofessor never lies.

Things I’ve learned to look for in online workouts, since I’m beginner at most exercises and live in an upstairs apartment: ‘low impact’ in the title (no jumping = quiet), a warm-up at the start and a cool-down at the end (for cardio), verbal instructions that explain the moves so you don’t have to stare at the screen (vs. just music), and a trainer that shows less advanced modifications/emphasizes that you don’t have to go as far as they do. When I find a video that hits all of those points, then I look at the channel to see if they have more like it.

Yo, on the getting active thing, there’s an app called Zombie Run. If you like walking/running and zombies, then this is the app for you. It basically simulates a game/ zombie apocalypse and motivates you to run/jog with a storyline. It’s like a real life video game, but just with audio.
Wish I had this advice back in the day. I’m also a 33yr old lady, and my parents made me feel they really needed me to stay and help pay for things, so I never got the college experience I always wanted. However, everything that happened, brought me to where I am now, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Same here! My mum and me made sure everyone was catered for at my wedding (celiac, veggie, non dairy ect) and everyone was super super happy because they said they would usually have to prepare and bring their own food to weddings and functions, it was just a nice extra touch to a great day 😁👍🏻
My fiancé and I are both vegan and we have tons of vegan and vegetarian friends so we'll have an all vegan wedding. At this point none of our guest would expect something different

This was the man that I had begun to plan my future with, and unfortunately things just really didn't work out after my mental health got in the way. We had a completely happy relationship and it honestly broke me to have to break things off because I am struggling mentally. I want to check myself into a mental hospital, and thats not something I want to drag anyone I love with me through. I lived in the dorms for 2 years when I was in college and we had 5 roommates. The good thing was we had bathrooms in our rooms (it’s the little things I guess lol). I loved college and going back to campus is something I do once a year just because I feel like I found myself there and it will always hold a piece of my heart

I’ve been appreciating y’all’s craft since I was in high school and in the past year, I’ve gotten my boyfriend hooked on that sweet content. I’m 24, he’s 26. I finished grad school last May with my degree in forensic and legal psychology. We live together in southwestern Virginia and I work in a capital defense office representing those accused of crimes that are death penalty eligible. My job is compile their life histories and present it as mitigating information as to why our client should not be sentenced to death, should they be convicted. That’s all sort of background info but really I wanted to THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH for getting me through grad school and genuinely shaping how i look at adult life. I’ve listened to advice casts from you guys before where you’ve given advice on college and grad school and what it all means to you and how it contributed to where you are now, and while our paths may have been completely different, the sharing of your experiences helped me place a new perspective on my own. Not to mention, I listened to countless podcasts while studying for finals and sometimes watching your guys’ content was the only thing that could make me laugh on the really hard days. So thank you both for being a staple in my life and helping some random girl muddle her way through adulthood while learning to never take herself too seriously!

Things I’ve learned to look for in online workouts, since I’m beginner at most exercises and live in an upstairs apartment: ‘low impact’ in the title (no jumping = quiet), a warm-up at the start and a cool-down at the end (for cardio), verbal instructions that explain the moves so you don’t have to stare at the screen (vs. just music), and a trainer that shows less advanced modifications/emphasizes that you don’t have to go as far as they do. When I find a video that hits all of those points, then I look at the channel to see if they have more like it.
18:00 this literally happened yesterday. I’m not full veg yet but my family got talking about how “stupid” diet restrictions are, and how “that didn’t exist when they were young”. Like no, it existed, the people just suffered. I was so mad.

Yo, on the getting active thing, there’s an app called Zombie Run. If you like walking/running and zombies, then this is the app for you. It basically simulates a game/ zombie apocalypse and motivates you to run/jog with a storyline. It’s like a real life video game, but just with audio.

I’m also a 33yr old lady, and my parents made me feel they really needed me to stay and help pay for things, so I never got the college experience I always wanted. However, everything that happened, brought me to where I am now, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Lol my chef dad did the catering for my wedding and I'm vegetarian, have a couple vegan friends, and my MIL is celiac, I made sure at least half of my delicious wedding food was both vegan and gluten free!
Same here! My mum and me made sure everyone was catered for at my wedding (celiac, veggie, non dairy ect) and everyone was super super happy because they said they would usually have to prepare and bring their own food to weddings and functions, it was just a nice extra touch to a great day 😁👍🏻

I left a comment like this a few months ago. Today I went through a really impossible breakup with someone that I still really love, and he really loves me too. This was the man that I had begun to plan my future with, and unfortunately things just really didn't work out after my mental health got in the way. We had a completely happy relationship and it honestly broke me to have to break things off because I am struggling mentally. I want to check myself into a mental hospital, and thats not something I want to drag anyone I love with me through. I'm going to miss watching your videos when I check in, because you guys are a constant in my life that bring me back to a sense of comfortability. Even after how awful today was I got to smile and laugh with you, and be reminded that things aren't going to be like this forever. Thank you for all the happiness and laughter you bring into the world, and for being such genuinly incredible human beings. I lived in the dorms for 2 years when I was in college and we had 5 roommates. The good thing was we had bathrooms in our rooms (it’s the little things I guess lol). Hello there! Long-time listener/watcher, first time commenter. I’ve been appreciating y’all’s craft since I was in high school and in the past year, I’ve gotten my boyfriend hooked on that sweet content. I’m 24, he’s 26. I finished grad school last May with my degree in forensic and legal psychology. We live together in southwestern Virginia and I work in a capital defense office representing those accused of crimes that are death penalty eligible. My job is compile their life histories and present it as mitigating information as to why our client should not be sentenced to death, should they be convicted.
That’s all sort of background info but really I wanted to THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH for getting me through grad school and genuinely shaping how i look at adult life. I’ve listened to advice casts from you guys before where you’ve given advice on college and grad school and what it all means to you and how it contributed to where you are now, and while our paths may have been completely different, the sharing of your experiences helped me place a new perspective on my own. Not to mention, I listened to countless podcasts while studying for finals and sometimes watching your guys’ content was the only thing that could make me laugh on the really hard days. So thank you both for being a staple in my life and helping some random girl muddle her way through adulthood while learning to never take herself too seriously!

I use a chalk bag like what rock climbers use as a treat bag when I'm training my dog on location. It buckles around your waist like a fanny pack and you can leave it open or close it or leave it a little open, it's great.
