Man I would absolutely love if you did spoiler talks/explained vids for every Stephen King book especially now your re-reading! It’s defo an area I think is lacking on YT and honestly I just want to hear you rant for a while about why you think The Stand is overrated 😁 Shining vlog was so good btw!
Always interesting, thanks. Glad you included Colorado Kid - often forgotten, but a great short intro to his style. I would perhaps want to include Misery. I don't think it's horror. Certainly I think it's less horrific than Lisey's Story. I would also be tempted to add Bag of Bones, because being so gothic in tone, it's probably not the "horror" that non-horror fans are expecting.
I’m glad this list exist though I don’t know if people realize that Stephen king will write something like these books someone will say boo hoo he’s not doing scary anymore and then Stephen is like hello here’s another one. Rinse and repeat
more book specials would be great! I am not complete sure but The Stand doesn't come off as horror and more of end of the world. There are bad things that happen but I wouldn't say horror so much.
@@DaveReadsKing oh I agree, we should do the first BIG meeting and then lets do just the notes of ALL the other meetings. This is when you knew King was in the weeds with this one.
I double down on: 1. The Green Mile 2. Hearts in Atlantis 3. Kennedy book 4. Shawshenk Great stories, if the name of Stephen wasn't on the cover you won't notice it's "that horror writer". Amazing literary pieces!
Totally agree about eyes of the dragon and the talisman i knew Dolores Claiborne would be on this list same for the dead zone so many people don't realize king can write more than horror thanks
I'll go ahead and echo Dave here: OH MY GOD, go read 11/22/63, regardless of your love of horror. It is a brilliant book and an AMAZING love story.
💯💯💯
Yes absolutely brilliant.
It's always a good video when you can tell loads of books have been pulled from the shelves!
😅

Thank you! That is basically the plan with the reread vlogs, I’m certainly not dodging spoilers in them!
@@DaveReadsKingawesome man look forward to it!

Fair point about Bag of Bones. Personally, I still count Misery as horror - the situation I think is terrifying…as is Annie!
Dolores Claiborne, 11.22.63 and joyland spring to mind. Good video.
Fine choices!

He’s Stephen King, he does what he wants - and rightly so!
Hi Dave, good review 11.22.63 is a fantastic book, I couldn't put it down. Like you said, it is a big book, but I flew through it.
💯💯💯

Fair point. But those committee meetings are a horror - so boring!

@sephirothii13 well, that’s why he put the bomb there!
@@DaveReadsKing I love that part of him tell the story, "oh shit I am losing my book"

Eyes of the dragon is awesome.
🐲🐉
The long walk isn't that scary. But it has been awhile since I read the book
It has some pretty horrifying moments throughout
The dead zone is great too.
Yes sir it is!
