    I appreciate you showing your score report. Sometimes people on youtube say they score a 510, 522, 518, but never show their score report so how are we suppose to believe that you scored that high if there is no score report. Good luck to you in medical school, you will do great!

    Loved your video! I'm getting ready to study the MCAT next week and I'm having a really hard time deciding how to schedule my days. I feel like I don't have the content down well enough to do questions right now but I also don't want to wait till the last minute to start questions. Would you suggest still doing daily questions/passages even though I might not have gotten to that material yet? Thanks!

    • @TerenceThomas
      @TerenceThomas  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Samantha, thank you so much for watching! That is a completely normal feeling. I personally used the first 4-5weeks of my 3-month study schedule to just get my content down then began incorporating questions. During my 3-month study period I wasn't doing anything but studying however. Not sure if you are studying for the MCAT and doing classes at the same time, but if so, you may need more time in that case. Check out this video I made on how I planned my schedule: ua-cam.com/video/cFqecJ8w7o4/v-deo.html
      Also, check out my MCAT playlist on my channel for more MCAT-related content! ua-cam.com/play/PLWf_fVogTUHq1tN46fYilWXNVGsjzNvd_.html

    I saw your comment that you had 80-90 formulas memorized, how did you do that? Trying to figure out the best way to memorize them all! Thanks for the great videos :)

    • @TerenceThomas
      @TerenceThomas  4 роки тому +10

      Hi Lauren, thank you so much for your kind words and for your comment! It was a challenge but the main key was just repetition and going at them every day during my content review. I would take maybe 15 and try to learn those to the point where I can remember them automatically. Then add on another 15 the following day and so on. It wasn't a perfect process and you forget some here and there but the key is just repetition!! Everyone is different...some use flashcards, some don't. It all depends on your style of learning.
      Three tricks I used: (1) I would try to understand what the formula is asking. P=IV (power=current*voltage) instead of just memorizing letters and numbers. (2) I tried to understand and learn the units of each formula to help solidify them. A simplified example of this is for current (I). Current = Charge/time (I=q/t). In units, that's Amps = Coulombs/seconds. This trained my mind so that when I would see Coulombs and Seconds in passages I would immediately think of current. Then reverse engineering that even further, I would think of all the other formulas that have current in them, such as P=IV, P=I^2R, P=V^2/R (still embedded in my brain til this day lol). This is feasible for many of the formulas but not all. Some I just straight up memorized. (3) When trying to memorize them I would close my eyes and pictured the formula writing out the formula in my head and saying it over and over again lol. Sounds silly but it worked for me. I would say P=IV, power=current times voltage, Joules=Amps times Volts in my head over and over and over!
      Hope these tips help and good luck studying!! Feel free to email me with any further questions

    Another question, did you use ALL of the Khan Academy modules? Did you only use their website for practice or did you also use it for content?

    • @TerenceThomas
      @TerenceThomas  4 роки тому +2

      Great question! With Khan Academy I mainly used their content for review of my weak points in the science sections and also to learn concepts in psych/soc. I didn't use much of their practice questions, only the ones at the end of the psych/soc modules to see how well I retained.

    Great video. What would you suggest for stamina throughout the exam?

    • @TerenceThomas
      @TerenceThomas  4 роки тому +4

      appreciate you Milton, and your support! Tailoring my study schedule around the testing style helped for sure -- getting used to taking 10min breaks and studying for 90min bouts at times without phone or distraction. Most times I would study 50min on 10min off (a modified pomodoro technique). Also practice exams were the best for me when it came to building stamina. I took a full length mock exam once a week 6-weeks leading up to my exam. I know some people who took 2 per week, but it all depends on you. Check out my other video on my 3-month study plan for more details!
