This is one of the BEST songs ever recorded by anybody EVER!!!! A song filled with horniness and lust. This song was so steamy it was not allowed to be played on South African radio, but one or two stations did play it, for it became a HUGE hit here. Marie does another EPIC vocal performance and I love the lyrics. Starting out she will tell you what she's done and she'll tell you what she'll do, and then she does.....very clever lyrics. It was written and recorded in a few hours after the Crash Boom Bang album was finished and it became the first single. It was the first video we saw with Marie's new short haircut - when they played it on TV I was in denial - I didn't think it actually was Roxette. Total shocker!!! Music history!!!!!
One of my absolute favourite Roxette songs and my favourite from C!B!B! It's so fun and energising! As someone else commented, it was written really fast by Per in response to a complaint from the record company about the album. I'm very glad they complained because we got this song! Marie looks so cool in the video. It did ok in the UK, I think number 15.
The first single from the record and what a banger it is!! After listening to an early version of the Crash album, the record company believed that none of those songs was the perfect first single. So, a very angry Per went home and wrote this gem. And yes, my grin got bigger and bigger while listening to your introduction.
For once I'm happy for the record company meddling with the process. It was a great song to pull one into the new album. I remember my mom telling me there was a new Roxette song when I got home from school, and then waiting to hear it on the radio. Oh the times before the popularity and ease of access to the internet... But it also made a strong and lasting memory.
@@gebus5633 I have to say this is the only time I agreed with EMI. In retrospect, their assessment was spot on. I was at the dentist when I heard the song for the first time. Needless to say, it helped a lot. LOL
I'm so excited for you to get to the run of songs near the end of this album, as well as the albums that come after this. So much amazing material that will wow you.
I agree, sadly at the pace of the roxette reactions, gonna take 3-4 months to get to the end of the album, I check the channel everyday in hope of the next one haha, all good though love these roxette reactions, and the next one "Vulnerable" is one of my all time favourites
Later on there's a bit of an internal reference to this song in Way Out. Apparently these lyrics were a bit too spicy for the Chinese government when Roxette was set to perform there, and they demanded the song to be altered. Roxette agreed but played the song normally anyway. Wonder if they performed in China after that. 😁
Do mesmo álbum, recomendo que ouça também a balada romântica " What's She like ? ", cuja melodia e vocais remetem vagamente a " Spending my time ", mas com um invólucro modernizado, onde o co protagonismo da guitarra presente nessa última foi substituída por um bem sucedido arranjo com pitadas de indie rock, bastante em voga na época.
Didn't like this one at first as it took the attention away from the other heavier songs on the album, mainly for me the brilliant H&I. But it's grown on me over the years, especially Live.❤
Never been much of a favourite of mine. Doeant have the depth of some of their other songs. But it is catchy. Only dong off CBB that really dented the charts in nz. Got to number 20 i think or maybe even 11, but I never heard it on the radio here. The crash boom bang song got to 48 and was played on some radio stations for a bit. But you never hear it these days.

EMI did far more to hold back Roxette's success than they did to try to sell their records.

I love the music video, it's soooo 90's.
If it is your car, especially after what we saw in that photo, I wouldn't even sit in it, let alone sleep in it!
