In the ghats, while pulling up, if the car is fully loaded and if the turbo hasn’t spooled up then it struggles to get to speed. 3. The engine pulls cleanly from 0 all the way up to 200. It does really well till about 160 post which the climb to 200 is still good but not as rapid. Engine Refinement: 4. Even though it’s a 3-cylinder engine, the refinement levels are pretty fantastic. 5. Only at traffic signals I would experience slight buzz or when the speedo is over 160 kmph. Drivability in traffic: 6. I had a manual and I felt it was easy to operate with a light clutch and enough power to pull through or crawl in stop go traffic. Fuel Efficiency: 7. This depends on various factors like load on engine, ambient temperature, type of fuel used, traffic among others. To put it simply, it can deliver anywhere between 10 kmpl to 25 kmpl. Let me break it down further. For instance, this engine delivers excellent fuel efficiency when the weather outside is cooler like during monsoons or winters. It doesn’t like summers so much. A. Highways: i. When I travel solo or just two passengers with no luggage with temperatures around less than 35 degrees Celsius and with no luggage or minimal luggage like 1 or 2 suitcases, I get easily between 16 to 25. This also varies by speed. If its between 80 to 100 then expect it to be between 20 to 25. If its between 100 to 120 then its between 17 to 20. If its 120-140 then its between 15 to 18. If its 150+ then it around 14-15 kmpl. ii. When its with 5 passengers and fully loaded and if you cruise between 80 to 100 then its easily around 18 to 20. 100 to 120 kmph would give around 16 to 18. If its 120 above till 150, it gives around 14 to 16. If its 150+, then its about 12 to 15. B. City: i. In cities like Hyderabad, I get easily around 15+ KMPL as the infrastructure can handle traffic better and the average speed is much higher. ii. In cities like Pune and Bangalore, it drops down to 10 to 12 kmpl. 8. My trick to extract max fuel efficiency: Upshift at or below 1800 rpm and also go light on acceleration. Torque pull is absolutely fantastic even if the turbo hasn’t spooled up (Except in climbing hills as mentioned earlier). The harder you accelerate, the lesser is the fuel efficiency. I used to be light on it but would gradually build speeds to what is best I can achieve and ensure it is safe in different conditions. Details on Skoda 1.5 engine (Automatic) Performance: 1. The engine quite powerful to do triple digit and even illegal speeds all day long. 2. The engine pulls cleanly from 0 all the way up to 200. It does really well till it hits the top speed. 185 to 200 took about 10 seconds Engine Refinement: 9. The refinement levels are absolutely fantastic. The engine is buttery smooth except for the 1st 2 mins or so during a cold start. Drivability in traffic: 10. As it is an automatic, it is very easy to drive. But as its an automatic, its very initial power delivery is laggy i.e., from 0 to about 15-20 KMPH. Fuel Efficiency: 11. It can deliver anywhere between 6 kmpl to 22 kmpl. C. Highways: i. When I travel solo or just two passengers with no luggage with temperatures around less than 35 degrees Celsius and with no luggage or minimal luggage like 1 or 2 suitcases, I get easily between 10 to 20. This also varies by speed and acceleration. • 80 kmph to 100 kmph: 18 to 20 KMPS. • 100 kmph to 120 kmph: 16 kmpl to 18 kmpl. • 120 kmph to 140 kmph: 13 kmpl to 16 kmpl. • 150 kmph+: 10 kmpl to 13 kmpl. • 180 kmph+: 5 kmpl to 8 kmpl D. City: i. In cities like Hyderabad, I get easily around 13+ KMPL as the infrastructure can handle traffic better and the average speed is much higher. ii. In cities like Pune and Bangalore, it drops down to 6 to 10 kmpl. 12. My trick to extract max fuel efficiency: As it is an automatic and upshifts post 2000 rpm, on highways, I put it in manual mode and drive and upshift at or below 1800 rpm. However, I haven’t been able to go light footed on this 1.5 ltr engine cause its performance and power delivery is just too good and an beautiful experience.

Not at all true. I own a slavia and I checked out Verna prior to it and the plastics and the fit and finish is far superior compared to Verna. Verna is outrightly cheap. Slavia is Infact better than virtus in terms of cabin experience. It will age well with time both on the outside and inside.
Probably because you are letting the algorithm show you our content. We invite you to come to the channel home page and look for, for example the Slavia, and see what else we’ve said Saurav. This video is part of a series

Thanks for letting me know. I am in the same situation where I would like to buy a slavia1.5AT instead of a luxury car d/t all the tax loading on premium vehicles.
Every country makes cars that rae suited to that country's infrastructure. Italians make fast and light cars with sharp ha fling as they have hills, Germans make heavy cars that can go smoothly in highways. Japanese make light and small cars coz of traffic. So people praising the high speed manners of German cars is like stating the obvious. But what about the smoothness, the comfort on bad roads? What bout electricals?
Why do you talk like a ultra luxury HNI (high net worth individual) as if you always driver a merc s class and suddenly you happen to test Slavia. I've seen 99% of cars you review u say they are only 4 seater.
That 8 inch touch screen is removed and replaced with button touch screen which looks cheap and I personally did not like that touch screen and I asked they said bcs of semiconductors chip shortage. Only good positive compared to city is ground clearance I liked so it confused which to buy city or slavia
No sedan in this segment gives a comfy 3 seater in the back...if yes what are the options that give a 5 seater cabin? The other points I concur. And don't forget the safety ratings. It's not an average income man's car. And those who buy it .they know info . We live in India...hence the opinion. ... moreover food for thought...its us the general public who pays road taxes to the government to buy a product that they manufacturer that they want us to use on roads..I mean by this the auto industry should make the roads or at least tax them for manufacturer who's product the public buys to use their product on the road. That will end the Toll problem
Some are better than others. And some are worse. The Slavia will sit at the bottom of that list for three. The new Verna will sit towards the top. Hope that helps!

3 cylinder engines for this class of vehicle is a ripoff. VW group & others like Citroen need to introspect and test drive the Honda/Hyundai vehicles of the category & contemplate whether their jugaad approach on cost & emissions is worthwhile.
We wouldn’t sign off three-cylinders altogether. There are some compromises. There are some pluses. And some do it better than others. The Citroen three-cyl are good! Although auto versions are still pending.
@@freud1025 this brand has a poor reputation on reliability even with 4 cylinder, it will surely be fastest to the garage with the 3 cylinder & turbo 😋

I own a Skoda Slavia 1.0 MT and i can confirm he's right about almost everything. My average mileage is 11 KMPL at max with ac on in the city and being in a family of 5 , it is quite uncomfortable for 3 people to sit in the back row. Interior feels pretty premium though.
City no doubt has a great engine and reliable car to own but one reason even I went for skoda slavia was the GC of 179 which is a major concern for me considering the road conditions in India
I have no idea where these naysayers are coming from. I own a slavia 1.0mt too and I get regularly 13-16kmpl in city and 18+ at highways. I use xp95. Barring that thin plastic in dash, the rest of the interior is good and there's no creeking like this gentleman mentions. I have driven and owned Ford and Hyundai cars and can confidently say slavia is the best in segment reg comfort, driving dynamics, safety and performance. Absolutely no idea and doubt this guy has even used slavia for extended period. I drive it everyday and it puts a smile on my face. Loving it more as the time passes.
well my skoda 1.5 dsg automatic also gives same mileage in city with ac.. don't know why 1.0 manual gives same mileage.. 1.5 is around 30% more powerful then 1.0. Well it has this 2 cylinder mode which usually runs on light foot so maybe that is why both have same mileage..
Yeah all true...creeky interiors yes Reverse cam is alright imo You have to be driving like a grandpa for dual digit Fuel efficiency numbers And the rear seat isn't for 3 people especially with that huge bump on the middle seat...its also not wide enough and the plastic side panel on either side is where your shoulder would be resting if you try to fit three people
my friend has a 1L virtus its getting him 14-15 kmpl (he drives very gently) and 17+ on highways. While my brothers Amaze CVT gets 10-11 kmpl on same routes and 14-15 on highway.
No plan to change anything, @jwngsarnarzary7124. Do feel free to check it out. And if you choose not to, no pressure to continue to watch Motorinc either.
I thought I would get some basic luxury at this point. How's the Virtus top model? Are there any good sedans below the BMW 3 series and Audi a4 in price?
I do not completely agree with your points. Especially about cabin space, 5 ppl can easily sit eith ease. About 1 litre engine, it is an option but 1.5 is the good pick. Yes, at few places inside the cabin you will feel cheap plastics used but common, when the same Skoda had a top notch quality and superb plastics, people were complaining about price, service charges and maintenance. Now that the maintenance is damn cheap people are complaining about it's quality. Do not get what do you really want from a car? I did a lot of research and bought Skoda 1.5 MT Style and i am completely satisfied with it. Previously i had own Verna 1.6 and Polo TDI.

The short before this is three reasons to buy a Slavia. We're glad that you're happy with the Slavia but in order to be as objective as we possibly can, we'll have to call things like we see it. You don't have to agree with us because clearly, this isn't meant for someone who already owns a Slavia. 😊
This car is everything a car shouldn’t be. Me and my friend both have some issues cropping up every 2 months. The car has to be at the service centre for a few days,. This has been my first experience of this sort with any car and Ive owned multiple cars. Just feel cheated of my money and a pleasant experience of owning a decent car. If you’re watching this video to make up your mind whether or not you should buy a Skoda car, Avoid at all costs.
True… but then explain this to Hyundai excreata buyer public in this country who avoided the better quality VAG cars at all costs & now when they have followed in footsteps of excreata, sales are off the roof… for more than 10 years VAG stuck with quality inside out in hopes people will start caring for safety, drivability & quality but ppl don’t want cars here… they like finicky gadgets.
Jab fit & finish bdiya thi tab lete nhi the log saying spare parts and service is costly. Ab dramatic reduction hui h maintainance me toh problem aa rhi h fit finish se. Logo ka samjh nhi aata ki tumhe chahie kya h? Always cribbing ranting.

Details on Skoda 1.5 engine (Automatic)
Performance:
1. The engine quite powerful to do triple digit and even illegal speeds all day long.
2. The engine pulls cleanly from 0 all the way up to 200. It does really well till it hits the top speed. 185 to 200 took about 10 seconds
Engine Refinement:
9. The refinement levels are absolutely fantastic. The engine is buttery smooth except for the 1st 2 mins or so during a cold start.
Drivability in traffic:
10. As it is an automatic, it is very easy to drive. But as its an automatic, its very initial power delivery is laggy i.e., from 0 to about 15-20 KMPH.
Fuel Efficiency:
11. It can deliver anywhere between 6 kmpl to 22 kmpl.
C. Highways:
• 180 kmph+: 5 kmpl to 8 kmpl
D. City:
@@ShashankRathodShashank thanks for such a detailed review.
I've finalised Kushaq Ambitiom 1.5 manual.

Is there anything I should keep in mind?

Drove 18k with 1L Slavia AT within 10months.. agree with squeaky sounds..but after visiting the service center those have been reduced quite well.. mileage in peak bumper to bumper traffic is 10-12kmpl..once on highways it easily touches 18-19kmpl..its a breeze to drive with great driving dynamics and performance! Nothing comes close to the driving experience at this segment!
@@juyaalamitfederal so should we consider 1lt slavia or not?
@@mrnobody-vz2up 1L AT Slavia has enough mid range grunt to pull ahead in any situation..brilliant driving dynamics (best in segment probably)..fuel efficiency is great if driven with light foot since turbos are sensitive to driving style..hav completed 30k within 15 months..still feels refreshing to drive!! If I was looking for a car today, probably would choose Slavia/Virtus!!
@@juyaalamitfederal thank bro for information we are planning to buy slavia sportline 1.0 lets see how it goes
Not at all true. I own a slavia and I checked out Verna prior to it and the plastics and the fit and finish is far superior compared to Verna. Verna is outrightly cheap. Slavia is Infact better than virtus in terms of cabin experience. It will age well with time both on the outside and inside.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts @amateurthinkersacademy3546.
Most of the time, this guy shares only negativity, thoughts😮
Probably because you are letting the algorithm show you our content. We invite you to come to the channel home page and look for, for example the Slavia, and see what else we’ve said Saurav. This video is part of a series
Such a wonderful car. The stance is destroyed by the ground clearance. Rest all is good ❤
"Slavia is desirable. Flimsy and Creaky💅🏻 "
Don't worry buy it then feel it. Much appreciated car. 1.5 litre is available with 250 nm torque. I happy with Slavia, I canceled 2 Series gran coupe BMW and purchased Slavia top model after six months long analysis of lot of suvs and cars. Mentally satisfied.
Thanks for letting us know Aniruddha! And congratulations!
Thanks for letting me know. I am in the same situation where I would like to buy a slavia1.5AT instead of a luxury car d/t all the tax loading on premium vehicles.
@@SJ-is5ko what kind of tax loading, Bro?
Every country makes cars that rae suited to that country's infrastructure. Italians make fast and light cars with sharp ha fling as they have hills, Germans make heavy cars that can go smoothly in highways. Japanese make light and small cars coz of traffic. So people praising the high speed manners of German cars is like stating the obvious. But what about the smoothness, the comfort on bad roads? What bout electricals?
This channel is completely a demotivator , slavia is one theke premium cars in its segment ,it's interior, ground clearance whatever...
Anyways he is talking about shoda not about skoda so chill guys
They supplied me 1.5 manual mafacturimg defect vehicle.4000 driven vehicle.I purchased vehicle in Ludhiana
How did you come to find it @ruppaljassi2460? What did they say when you reported this?
Every time I love to take skoda i search for your video to control my emotions 😂
Why do you talk like a ultra luxury HNI (high net worth individual) as if you always driver a merc s class and suddenly you happen to test Slavia.
I've seen 99% of cars you review u say they are only 4 seater.
Should only HNIs ask for better cars @senthilprasadh7536?
If not slavia.. then what is ur choice?
Fanboys abuse incoming alert.
Great conversations from owners too! Good to see! Check em out!
That 8 inch touch screen is removed and replaced with button touch screen which looks cheap and I personally did not like that touch screen and I asked they said bcs of semiconductors chip shortage. Only good positive compared to city is ground clearance I liked so it confused which to buy city or slavia
Go for the 1.5 Virtus. Check out the Verna too.
Umm they have now back with the 10 inch screens for 2024 model cars
Real cars we dont have in india Honda Mazda and Honda
How can 3 "Great Khali" fit at the back seat: they won't fit in any car either 😂
🤔
Ok i agree, now you tell me which car should i buy under 20 lakhs that give good ride quality and good driving dynamics
@@vijitvashishtha9916 Exactly, it would all make more sense if there are alternatives that are well ahead, which i really really doubt!

Fuel efficiency in city expect 8 to 11
Build quality compared to old skoda rapid , slavia build quality isn't that great.
Since diesel is out Skoda seems to be out,
Compared to its rivals or same price tag, features are not that great , interior seems of cheap plastic & cheap fabric, car doesn't have the skoda effect.. made just to sell as a cheap car that isn't cheap for what it offers ..

Its such a ripoff it's almost beats in drag all cars in segment. Sigh.
Heard the Honda City today. There is no difference, except for a 0.001% approx louder sound because of the 3 cylinderness
@@freud1025 this brand has a poor reputation on reliability even with 4 cylinder, it will surely be fastest to the garage with the 3 cylinder & turbo 😋

Not Good vehicle
I own a Skoda Slavia 1.0 MT and i can confirm he's right about almost everything. My average mileage is 11 KMPL at max with ac on in the city and being in a family of 5 , it is quite uncomfortable for 3 people to sit in the back row. Interior feels pretty premium though.
Hey VV! Thank you for sharing your experience and for the open discussion. Will mean a lot to many!
You should have bought City
It's best in Segment bro...Ganja fuk video mat banao pls
Still better than maruti and Hyundai
Maybe so but does that mean Skoda shouldn't do any better @neelenterprises15?
Your 2nd reason doesn't stand for 1.5 tsi dsg... Fun to drive
Thanks! Appreciate it..
Slavia Best in segment car
Thanks for telling us @niyatanjaria.
Yeah all true...creeky interiors yes
Reverse cam is alright imo
You have to be driving like a grandpa for dual digit Fuel efficiency numbers
And the rear seat isn't for 3 people especially with that huge bump on the middle seat...its also not wide enough and the plastic side panel on either side is where your shoulder would be resting if you try to fit three people
100 %
I own a skoda slavia and I completely agree with you and these are the exact points I tell when people ask me is it good to buy a skoda ?
Fuel efficiency may not be the reason for some people , driving pleasure >>> fuel efficiency,,
For some, yes.
my friend has a 1L virtus its getting him 14-15 kmpl (he drives very gently) and 17+ on highways. While my brothers Amaze CVT gets 10-11 kmpl on same routes and 14-15 on highway.

Very true. The interior fit is pathetic and finish is not too great either.
It’s disappointing!
