You can get pavlov shack for free but pavlov is 20$ and it has a ton of maps and overall more and better stuff
Yup I need to buy a quest. This is where gaming is at. All the young hungry developers showing their talent putting their heart and soul into it unlike all the mainstream devs that just want you to buy skins.
Make sure to get the quest 2, the quest 1 ain’t looking so good no more, also fair warning, quest 2 does not have all of this, only most of it, for all I know Stalingrad ain’t in the quest version, but the up side is Pavlov being free on the quest 2

If I had the option to buy a new vr headset I would wait a few years for something new and fresh to come out that can run decent games with decent graphics. quest 2 is the Walmart of headsets but its still good enough to be used like a traditional vr headset
@@guillermobarroso2990 The Walmart of headsets? Nah bro it’s gotta be the target, the Walmart would have been the quest 1, the quest 2 is pretty capable, way more than some older PC wired headsets

I remember the name Pavlov being familiar and related to the story of Pavlov's house. Basically, in World War 2, soviet soldiers held up at an apartment. In the menu screen, Pavlov's house can actually be seen. I think the game was originally supposed to be a WW2 VR game but then the popularity of CS:GO in 2017 changed the course of the game. Also, BR was added to the game but after the first week of it being out the players base for BR decreased until it was nonexistent. I don't have my headset right now, but I think BR might be in the game but removed from main server options, that or it got removed from the game entirely for resource management purpose since it was pretty much useless. I do remember playing BR with Dave when he announced it either in Pavlov Beta mode or in the actual branch. It was boring and it was solo only.
i mean the ww2 update came out late it seems but maybe its pavlov since pavlovs house might have been close quarters combat?

Small update, there's also reference to the agent/bodyguard character models in the folders, as was common place with most if not all early VR games, the alpha contains storebought assets, so things that were in early versions aren't totally lost to time :)

The biggest improvement over time has been how it feels to play the game. Small things like mag eject animations and better feeling mechanics.
I've been playing vr since late 2016 and this is one of the best vr shooters out there to date, I remember playing this for hours on the untextured map
if you love pavlov id suggest you check out contractors :) since pavlov servers are kinda dying :/

For BR we had 40 player servers with BR custom modes until they reverted the 40 player cap as it was causing huge performance issues

If they somehow added back player model arms to the characters and not make it clunky, that would be awesome, imagine being able to actually wrap bandages around your arms or something, that'd be cool!

I've always thought that Pavlov was just CS:GO but in VR, but now I know it has a much more interesting history.

i think i started playing pavlov at around update 20. its amazing to see how far it has come

Sweet i remember a version of pavlov where in ttt, you spawned in a container, you had to pick a skin by grabbing the player model thing and there was a detective scanner that would say who is a traitor or innocent (it was a time with only 3 roles) also container yard was a map and og containers wasnt a thing

I haven’t played pavlov in forever I started playing contractors recently since I find it better since it actually gets updates but I still respect pavlov since it was my first pc vr game.
I’ve only gotten to play this game once maybe twice cause I don’t have a pc but man is it good just wish vr was cheaper to get into 😅

All this video taught me, is that pavlov really hasn't changed much
i wish he would add the AKS-74u back. the new, incredibly modernized micro drako just doesnt cut it. also, this is the first time ive ever seen someone refer to the ak as "tactical"

also one thing i remember about update 19 was the addition of pointing your gun at the ground to run i believe before that you could always run or it just wasnt added to the game (i started playing update 19 so im unsure)

The quest version has gotten a big update, now we can play Stalingrad and easily get modded maps

To my knowledge, every build of Pavlov before build 10 was private, and update 10.1 was the first public build. That's why the discord doesn't show change logs for anything before build 10.1. That's all for PCVR.
As for Shack, I know that sniper scopes worked from build 9 (when I started playing), to I think build 11? When they stopped working, do an update in unreal engine. And the scopes wouldn't return until build 28. I remember build 22 being the return of sniper scopes, but the change logs say that it was build 28.
If I had to guess, the same update to unreal broke the scopes in PCVR as well. However, Shack and PCVR would have different build numbers when the scopes were broken due to them being developed at separate times.
Pavlov has always been my favorite game and hobby, I lost my quest so I'm not able to play the game anymore but when I did play it, it was like a call of duty game in real life like I was the main character and I was real good at Pavlov too, one day I'd like to return and slay children again 0wo
If any here sees this, they are now beginning to test update v29, although only accesible via steam beta tab at the moment, the main thing it plans is to change some menus and UI's such as the SnD round start and sounds and a brand new watch look (the one thta tells you health and armor), and put all the changes that were made in shack into the pc version during an absence of pc update, but the biggest so far (and why its take so long i hope) is an engine change to the new Unreal engine 5, so yeah.
I really wanted full body arms because it makes the game more realistic and fun. Imagine the new models with full body arms

You forgot to mention how Update 21 added new player models.
And how Update 24 was literally the update that released Pavlov for Oculus, (Officially, the Sidequest ones do exist but Shack on App Lab was released with B24.)
Wish they added these beta guns in the full release (quest 2), would’ve been so nice to and a makarov or AKS-74U, etc. sadly the weapon choices are pretty limited compared to other games.
So gore was rereleased in update 29. Nice to know
Once you play Contractors, it is hard to go back to Pavlov
Didn't mention the Hidden, which is a great party mode and brought a lot of people back to the game at the time

The battle Royale probably is here but not what you think
The custom servers are servers that can have a option between 2 maps and both of which are very big,theres crates around the map that you can loot for ammo,guns,armour, and a gas mask that gives you the ability to go into the radiation infected areas for better loot
If you die you drop everything you were holding and spawn in with no armour and only a double barrel with 2 shots
Honestly the costom servers are the battle royal of pavlov

Thought I should mention: The battle royale mode DID come to Pavlov, however, it was removed shortly after. I'm not sure why but you can find gameplays of it on UA-cam
i remember playing it a lot, there were custom maps you could download and host servers for it, pretty sure they still exist

dave didn't scrap oob movement during development, it was in the game a very long time after release
the game also wasn't released by vankrupt games, that was changed a long time later
