I've got 1 of these saws had 2 years the carb has never been right on mine .It won't rev high until you put it under load which is alright I've adjusted it no difference anyway I like it.

I ripped out the carb and tossed in the WT215 almost immediately. I tune so many saws that I can tell when a Chinese carb is just junk. This one was that way. The Walbro carb made it a completely different saw.

I was sold when you cut that log in half. That's not an easy task for a chainsaw.

Stihl saws you must always start by the numbers - cold start until it rolls over, warm start until it runs. After the rpm stabilizes, blip to run and let warm up. An ms 250 is known to be a bitch to start. I never pull a Stihl saw over four times in cold start before pushing it up to warm start and pulling it another four times before blipping it up to run. If it has not started in these eight pulls I have probably flooded it. Then, I pull it over four times in the run position. I am basically looking to get it to roll over ( attempt to start) Then I push it down one choke position and they usually start somewhere in this sequence. Starting a Stihl saw is an art and muscle endeavor. The longer it has sat, unused, the harder they are to start.

I got an ms250 and it always starts in three pulls. I have several pieces of stihl equipment and easy starting one reason why I only buy stihl.

@@ding9633 mine will usually start in about the same number of pulls but that sucker has some kind of compression. It likes to yank my arm off. For a 45 cc saw it is tough to pull over.

    Does it worth the money?

I paid $100 for it. It has paid for itself 20x over and it isn't even one of my "work saws".. so, yeah, it was well worth the money.

So lets see..... 145 for the saw plus 30 for a good carb plus the price of the bar and chain. You can get the real thing for 299.

I paid $100 for mine plus shipping of $45 plus about $10 for the bar and chain. The real Stihl goes for $359 plus tax in my area at all the dealers. I'll gladly save the $200+ and mine is running great with the stock carb, and that's at 7,000' elevation. So far I'm very happy with the G255 just like I am with my G444.
