  • This spring, we spoke with Nai Christophe from Taunton, MA. Nai recently graduated with Psychology and Public Health dual degrees, earning both a BA and a BS, with a certificate in Criminology.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Nai served as the President of the Haitian American Student Association (HASA), and in the last year was able to re-activate the charitable subsection of HASA-Progressive Efforts for the Advancement of Change in Haiti, or PEACH-which raised nearly $6,000 over the course of four months to donate winter blankets to a local migrant shelter and donate funds to the Haitian Health Foundation, which serves the most rural and under-resourced parts of Haiti. In addition, Nai worked as a tour guide, a residential assistant, and a teaching assistant, and served as the Secretary of the Registry for the Student Government Association.
She is dedicated to social justice and worked to make space for POC voices on campus through her involvement with multiple cultural registered student organization (RSO) executive boards, on-campus peer mentoring programs within the College of Natural Sciences, and a student-run podcast that explores the unique challenges of the POC experience at UMass.
Off-campus, Nai interned for Massachusetts General Hospital and its Center for Addiction Medicine-where she was credited as a co-author on a research paper about Opioid Use Disorder and smoking-and Harvard Medical School’s Center for Law, Brain, and Behavior.
With graduation behind her, Nai has accepted a position with Fidelity Investments in North Carolina as part of their Emerging Leader Program. She hopes to continue her education by attending law school.
