Hey, I am the dev of Sonar Shock. Just a quick clarification: Sonar Shock is inspired by the first System Shock and uses a similiar control style to SS1. So no mouse look. However, it's not on rails, you control all the movement ;)
Sonar Shock looks like they took inspiration heavily from System Shock, where you moved AND turned with the keyboard and aimed with the mouse. Really, everything about the UI screams System Shock.
I'll be curious to hear your review of Selaco! Usually with immersive shooters like that I wait for the full release. I hate getting sucked into the world and then not being able to finish. But I might have to make an exception depending on the amount of content.
Lots of exciting stuff this month. I hadn't heard of Sonar Shock or The Stairway before watching this video. Thanks for highlighting them Zlim, both are styles I'm intrigued to check out.
Uuuh, Sonar Shock looks interesting, looking forward to that one. System Shock was one of the first games I really remember playing. And of course Selaco, finally!
I had plans to do a video on first person shooter demos last Saturday before Steam's FPS fest expired but when I got a bad bug those plans were scrapped sadly.
Sonar Shock sounds right like my jam. As does Chambers. Pretty versatile mix you compilated. Selaco is a no brainer, even if i'll wait for the full release.
I was lucky enough to get access to the Beta of Abiotic factor on steam and whilst I only played a few hours I had a tone of fun. It's basically a survival game set within a Black Mesa inspired facility. The world and visuals are very inspired by Half Life 1. I'm not normally a survival game guy but the setting off this one really changes up how you play. It doesn't have that "wander around and collect sticks and stones for four hours to get to the real game" problem I had with most survival games.
Holy May-caroni! Looking like a bloody good month. Selaco is an obvious heavy-hitter but Robobeat, Sonar Shock and Chambers look totally unique too. Plus Mullet Mad Jack?! We’re rolling in it this month!
As always a pleasure to watch your videos! Personally I'm looking forward to selaco it has to be good otherwise I'll lose faith! Sonar Shock is also at the top of my list even though I've never heard of the game before! and I'm definitely too old and slow for Mullet Mad Jack;-)
This May surely will be exciting, cause i plan to launch both the Quake II sound remake and my Hexen remake (v0.6 not the full game yet) - in the same month.🤪The Q2 upgrade in 7-10 days, and the Hexen TC (hopefully🙏!) late May. BTW, horror shooter Pine Harbor has been released as well...
I saw on Steam that Welcome To Zombietown is gonna be free. I searched for it and it said free right under the title. Hopefully it's true. Aside from that, cannot wait for Selaco and Mullet Mad Jack!!
ah man - I just watched the 'sonar shock' part of your video. It looks like the original System Shock 1 - i.e. the hud, the gameplay, ... - that's surely going to be hard for a lot of players to get into no?!
@@ZlimBratSki it's definitely a ballsy move and interesting - will be interesting to see how it develops and what kind of game it will be, ... because that certainly won't be an FPS, RPG immersive SIM as most people know them
yeah but supposedly they are releasing like a done first chapter. Still I'm with you, I'm really torn. I'll probably wait and experience their fully realised vision, but it's tempting!
Abiotic Factor: Nope. Robobeat: I don't like roguelites and i'm too rythm-disabled to hit a beat. But i had quite a bit of fun with the demo, because the core elements are well done. Selaco:
Good stuff! I also can't wrap my head around the fact Selaco is actually releasing into EA next month. And a Robobeat stream? That should be fun! That game scares me.And Stairway 7 intrigues me. I'm still surprised there isn't more games that adopted the P.T. horror style.
ah I'm confused by the Selaco - surely it comes *out* of early access at the end of May. It's already in early access right? The full game release date is at the end of May?

As a big fan of SS1 I'm really looking forward for this one. ❤

That's a bold choice, looking forward to trying it. :)
Very excited for Selaco, but have my eyes on MMJ, Sonar Shock and Chambers as well!
I already knew it, but you have great taste Sam 😁🤜🤛
I know Sonar Shock it's a System Shock spiritual successor. But the gun it feels a lot like CyClones.
Selaco has me totally hyped.
And honestly the dev is underselling it on things like combat speed.
Mullet mad jack also looks sick as hell.
What a month for FPS games!! Hyped for Selaco finally dropping! Been waiting over 2 years now for this game!
Hell yeah!! It's finally coming!
Selaco and Mullet Mad Jack are both looking amazing. Hard to pick a favorite so I guess I'll have to play both.
Best thing to do haha 😁

Super stoked for Selaco..what they've managed to pump out of the gzdoom engine is just mindblowing
wasnt expecting sonar shock, it's so system shock and that's totally my thing
I am eager to play Selaco and Mullet Mad Jack
excellent taste Caio! :D
I just cant wait for Brutal Fate to come out, in about 200 years 😊

I cant wait to review it! Apparently the EA will have a ton of levels. Not sure if each ea episode will conclude anything but we will see :)

Always super glad to get some new games on display that appeals to the folks 💪😁
I like your enthusiasm and joy for the topics you cover. Keep it up!

This feels like AAA month of indie games everything there is really good, esp selaco is coming along with mullet
Haha yeah thats a great way to put it!
Abiotic Factor feels like if Half-Life was a fallout game with mods on.
haha perfect description
MMJ looks soo good. My man Zlim, any plans for a video about Pine Harbor?
It's on my mind a lot. I think I might stream it at least some day soon, we will see, no promises :)

Selaco is a long awaited one for me personally, can't wait to get my hands on it. Now lets see if any other game from the list sparks my interest.
