Can you do a budget of someone who makes
For real at some points I feel like these people are so dense lol. Most people don’t make 150K a year.
Right there with you. I think Rachel is out of touch with the AVERAGE income earners. She's definitely used to dealing with the RICH crowd😂 Rich people problems🙄🤣
I would be fine with even $3-4k a month.
@lydialukes522 that's not thr point.
I don't disagree, but the concept is similar. It's like that Liberty Mutual commercial "ONLY pay for what you need" and the rest goes to investing for your future. I'm not a Ramsey disciple but that's just the way it goes. Even if she made a budget for lower earners there would be complaints because "life happens" to people and they're somehow unable to stay on task.
Wow, so many hate comments for a higher income. All income levels need to budget.
Not hate comments. Just looking for an example with less income that would most likely help many more people.
There are a lot of people that make $3-6k a month. Will you please do this for that bracket of people? Income this high is unhelpful for most.
That would be helpful to look at.
It doesn’t make it any less helpful for those of us seeking guidance for this bracket. May be less popular but it doesn’t lessen the value it brings to people trying to be responsible ❤️
We make a little over $3,500 per month. Would love to see a smaller budget. We are trying to do what we can. Most people in our area make minimum wage or a factory job at $18 per hour
She has a video posted about 2 months ago for a $7000 per month budget
@@Drtate_therealtor yes and our combined income is $3500
@@Drtate_therealtor and she had later posted a $3600 Budget afew weeks ago. She assumed it was for a single family household. But I was still grateful for the example
I make $2,000 a month. LOL. 12grand I would be rolling in money.
Same.. omg
Right
try it in a high cost of living area where you cant get any single family home for under 800k.
Why would you budget 401k for Husband if its already taken out of his gross income and the budget is showing only take home pay?
Being debt-free with a fully-funded emergency fund, dual income of $12,000/month and $450K in retirement makes it a lot easier to budget. Try creating a budget for one person age 60+ making under $2,000/month with $0 saved for retirement.
Get a better job or work more hours.
@@I_like_turtles_67maybe she has a disability or is unable to earn a higher income right now due to a variety of reasons.
who boo boo hee boo, poor you! is that the attention you were looking for?
The reality of that situation is the individual would work the rest of their life. Maybe retirement in their 80's if they're able to invest a few hundred dollars a month.
Spend less time whining and feeling sorry for yourself and you might be in a better position.
$12k a month?! Girl! 😅 that’s an easy budget there’s lots of wiggle room. Do a budget that’s less than $4k!
Come on Rachel could you be a bit more realistic for us AVERAGE people and make a budget for those of us who are not rich😂 One income earners?? Single people? widowed people? divorced people? Thank you😊
EXACTLY my thought when I read the title! Sheesh.
The concept is the same. You have income and expenses. Get your income to be more than your expenses. Pay down debt if you have it, and invest for your future.
12k/month with a 1250 mortgage. That’s the life right there.
that's my income and we have a 4k mortgage on a 1700sq ft fixer upper :o( HCOL
That's a healthy sized income which I imagine would make budgeting much easier. I have been vigilant with a budget for the last 18 years. In the beginning my family made $15k/year with a mortgage and a newborn so the budget was more about survival than anything.
You’d be surprised. More money more problems, and usually means you live in an area where everything is more expensive.
$12k a month? That's EASY. I don't understand why anyone who's making 6 figures would be broke
Lifestyle inflation.
It’s that lifestyle creep.. they go sooo far down the rabbit hole and get accustomed to spending a lot it doesn’t phase them.
because i live in s high cost of living area and you cannot buy a single family home for under 800k here, and that house will be falling apart.
I agree a more realistic budget would be great to go over. We are a household that both parents work-4 kids including daycare and we bring home less than $4,000 a month. It’s a little frustrating hearing these large incomes when that’s not even feasible. I usually love your show but honestly this just makes me frustrated.
STOP having kids you can't afford. SMH.
$12k a month?! What are you doing with your money that you are struggling on $12k a month?!
Exactly.
If no one ever taught you to budget then it’s all new. And they’re not struggling, they are fine tuning their budget. Good for them!
The life style creep is real.
Spending it. lol.
threre is a family at our daycare with triplets. that's 5500 each month on child care.
It would be neat if other people could send you their finances to see how you would budget their money
How about an income of 3k a month WITH Childcare cost of $800 a month ( heavily discounted)
😢
I *love* these real time budget suggestions
especially for higher incomes.
I love watching these budget analysis videos! I think it would be great to watch a family ( or person) comment or brainstorm on another person's budget, and say how they themselves would change it - for example, if a family in a similar area with a similarly sized family to another ( So conceivably would probably be able to live on the same budgeted amount) could look at how they ACTUALLY COULD make do with less? (We are a family of 7 and are making do with a budget of about 3500 (... and any income more than that goes straight into savings/sinking funds)
I see these videos as almost a challenge- where could *I* cut corners (comfortably) and live on less? it's almost like the inverse of 'keeping up with the jones's ", like as if someone saw that WE can eliminate hulu or whatever, and actually not go insane, than anyone can. lol. I think that would be very helpful for people trying to tweak their budget, if they heard from an ACTUAL person in the same life situation using similar numbers. :) Like If another mom of 5 teens saw _us_ doing it on a $215/month budget for phone/media/netflix/entertainment , it doesnt seem so painful. Simply showing what a family that brings in 12K isnt all that helpful if we don't know their life situation :) I still love the vid tho :D
I was so looking forwarded to another real-life budget... but 12k a month 🤨 most of America will never see a budget like that.
Maybe do a actually real life budget. You know for like the other 85% of America/world.
Excitedly. That’s how I’D budget $12,000 a month.
Put $10,000 toward all upcoming bills for the year and live on the rest. After known bills are paid, put back for next car, pay pff house and retirement funds.
1200 a month in gas???
yeah i spwnd 150
yeah but then only 1250 on mortgage... wow!
Let’s be realistic… “How many people are bringing in 12k a month?” Nonsense
Um how about a real budget for the normal income people. I could budget 12K too without issues. Gees.
Love this! My income is $12,500 monthly and it's fun to see how other people budget
Wow imagine being saddled by that tribulation! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Cash flowing college is no joke. Shew. Been there done that for years now.
Yes. We did this too for 10 years to get 3 kids thru- i would say this family is really underestimating what their costs for this will be
Broke people love to complain about people who make more money than them. Stop hating and get to work so you can also make that level of income.
Cancelling Netflix with two teenage daughters... idk if it's worth the headache to fight that battle every month
Rachel, most people don’t take home 12k. Please try to have videos more like the general population, 5-6k per month. I know you mean well but cmon! People are struggling with high cost of just being alive. 😅
Is that 35 k per year for college? Or all up? Cause that seems really cheap
$30k a year for college or $30k for 5 years. Even a state school will cost $30k a year now.
60plus on Hulu?!? Glad I never signed up for that one!
Killing it though.
That every dollar looks so different on a pc than the phone. I may need to try that.
I like it better on a pc for sure
I hate using it on my phone. Definitely prefer it on a PC
Can you please go in a more helpful direction? Budgeting is much harder and more important when you have $4k a month not 12k a month
Could you do one for $3,000 or $3,500 a month. I will be willing to provide my information if needed. Thank you. Love the real budget episodes if you keep them going.
Seriously, these people spend way too much on silly stuff. $200 a month for a child who is old enough for a job? 120 for a 14 year old? Almost $800 total for mom and dad to spend? That is over 1k being frittered away right there. And that is in addition to a 200 clothing budget?! All of those subscription services? Ridiculous.
they can afford it
This video was incredibly helpful and I loved using the tool you linked. I redo budgets every year, but this is really user-friendly and I don’t need to use my manual Excel file. Thank you!
Smaller budget please.
make every dollar available to the UK, please!!
I liked that 12K per month income budget!

If you are looking for a lower income budget, she has other videos.
Apart from bills I try not to spend over $50 a month unless I take my mom on a trip or buy guitar junk.
You look so much like your dad, you're so pretty, loved the video
How do you invest 1800 into a 401k every month for one person I thought there was a max yearly contribution limit ok like roughly 6500 ? Curious because 15% save is a lot diff for someone making 50k vs 100k.
yearly 401k max in 2024 is 22500, I believe. I put 1700 a month in.
At that income it is easy. They are living way above their means. Cut out pouring gallons of lawn treatment on the yard, drive older cars, live in a small house, use mint mobile or tracfone, no shopping trips, no vacations to fancy places, etc. Cut out the luxuries and live within the four walls.
Exactly, same concept for everyone. It is easier for some, sure, but all of us should write out our take home and our expenses with a mindset of reaching surplus now and future planning.
They're BS456... why should they be scorched earth?
It feels like the $67/month for a Hulu account was a mistake. Maybe they meant $6 or $7? Hulu accounts aren't that expensive.
Hulu Live is that much
The average US income, $31k, U.S. Census Bureau. Please do a budget for $2,500 a month rather than this income of $144k a year.
Average US income is $56K a year according to the Bureau of Labor. $31K a year is poverty.
$12k a month? Where the heck do yall work?! 😂 yall physicians?
that's us. we're both in IT. Physicians make considerably more than 12k a month
Hi do you round up and not Putin coin amounts for it to be easier ?
What does this couple do for a living? I need to be where they are at! A minimum wage starter budget would be helpful.
that's us....we're both in IT.
Wow, I could do so much with that.
What about a family of 6 with teenagers down to a 5 month old baby on a 6k a month? Hubby works 40 hours a week. We
own our own business. We had to pay 10k in taxes this year so we also have that to budget in. I homeschool and work at my kids co-op program. I help with our business when I can.
What about it? Do a budget like everyone else, right?
@@Concatenate we do. I was just curious what Rachel would do.
why in god's nsme did you have that many kids
Love these!!
Let's do a budget of $1,200. My Att is $405 and mortgage is $1,171😢 don't tell me to get another job, I cut grass every day.
You only have 2 solutions, or 3 if you combine them. Get more money or cut your expenses.
Rachel, I DMed on Instagram you asking to do my montly budget, which is about $2k/month. We would love to see something more relatable like that!
