Never seen a AAA game just go: “aren’t you tired of being balanced and careful? Don’t you just want to go apeshit?”
If we talking multiplayer yes, otherwise that's just vergil,
Great Apeshit
Reject humanity return to *MONKE*
Idk why but Pat's "what would you do if Cell attacked the city? I'd fukin die" killed me.
16:36
same lol
you either die an esport or live long enough to see yourself become a kusoge
If you're MvC you get the privilege of both
Is that what happened to Overwatch?
I really want the patch notes to start with "For this patch we decided to get back to our roots and took a good long look at Segoku Basara and Hokuto no Ken."
"We have increased lore accuracy, pray to whatever gods that have not yet abandoned you"
Ah yes, Dunkmaster Ken and the Hokuto B-Ball Legacy, and Learn to Fly with Date Masamune
This is the best patch ever for people that stopped playing DBFZ years ago and it's the worst patch ever for the people that were still playing DBFZ
Been playing nonstop for 6 years personally I love it
As someone who played DBFZ pretty regularly since release, I feel this 😂
This game has been getting so much crazier over the past, like, 6 or so patches. I’m glad people are still having fun, but it’s so dumb now lol
All 6 of those guys got screwed
As someone who was still playing I feel this. I mean good for people who will have a blast with the new crazy stuff, but I just got adjusted to the crazy stuff from before 😭
Speak for yourself my guy.
Intern-kun, with only a short time left in the office: “And this… is… to go even further beyond!!!”
Do not go gentle into that Final Flash.
Scream "Oh Sh*t!" and dodge at the last minute.
Woolie did. Twice~
@@FoolsGil he didn't dodge, Vegeta purposely curved it so that Cell wouldn't take the full brunt of the blast because he'd destroy the earth too. But he would've killed Cell right there and then if he did it.
@@SeruraRenge11 dude.
Watching Krillin pop sparking and repeatedly cancel rock throw into solar flare, **over and over and over** again, causing a blockstring that lasts as long as the sparking does, made me laugh.
"What if....We made every character...Level 7 Gohan on the turbo mod?"
At the dawn of the Last Age, when the tribes of ArcSys left the lands of DBFZ, they left three things in the dust swept streets of their once great city.
A man, a button, and a mission.
"In case of irrelevancy; break glass."
FUCK IT WE DRAGONBALL
They call him the drink
THEY CALL HIM THE WHAT
@@iamthestrong927 A BEVERAGE OF SORTS 🗣️
I would love if this happened more often. Imagine if SFV's last gasp before 6 was a patch that let you have both V-Triggers and V-Skills?
Im just thoroughly ECSTATIC that Captain Ginyu can once again solo/assist comb into Body Swap OOOONNNCEEE AAGAAAAIIIIIIN. Gonna wait for ppl to lab bnbs for me again lmao
Balance is the for the glory.
Broken is for the culture.
every game should have a rainbow edition patch
The game itself released all its inhibitors and went super saiyan.
"some see less gokus as a problem" i need woolie to look at the final roster of sparking zero he doesn't understand how many gokus need to be on a roster
Sparking Zero has 18 Gokus not counting look alikes or fusions involving him.
Android 16 will have a lot of Goku dunking to do.
I think if there's a single franchise that is allowed to "escape" from esports it would be Dragonball. There's enough of an audience who just wants to see wacky fun shit, and mash out nonsense because they're dragonball fans first and fighting game players second.
Once I revert to an egg I must bury myself for 3 years, there my form matures
I think it would be very fitting for Dragon Ball if DBFZ2 had absolutely broken ridiculous options and TOD combos for every character but also some kind of combo breaker or counter system.
It is so funny that Pat does not know that there is in fact Gokus in Breakers
If everyone is broken…
then nobody is.
5:09 is basically Lythero lol
Balancing fighting games around E-Sports was a mistake.
I really need the DBFZ team to go on and make a 2D My Hero Academia assist game
I dropped out of MHA but a 2d fighter would go so hard. You could even do a MvC1 where you could have some assist only characters (like a lot of the more obscure heroes)
@@invaderpez12 yup. That franchise is begging to be an mvc style game
ASW said, "fuck that, we can't let Sparking Zero steal the thunder from us as the Ultimate DBZ Simulator. We have to go even further beyond."
People always say they want DBFZ 2, but my question is: what do they think the roster would be? Despite the “Too Many Gokus” meme, by the time all of the DLC was finished, there were 44 total slots, and pretty much every major character in Dragon Ball was covered in some way. This isn’t a Budokai game, so we were never getting our joke obscure picks like Appule or Farmer With Shotgun, but all in all, DBFZ really did have a broad variety of characters from across the entire franchise.
So if they did do DBFZ 2, and the roster went back to the base 20 or so, it would have to just be more or less the same base roster that the first game had, since there’s so many characters that HAVE to be in the base roster of a DB fighting game. Which then means that the DLC would mainly just be adding all the other characters BACK in. I can only think of maybe 5 or so characters that the first game “missed” who could be added in, but unless you want them to start putting in those dumb OCs from Xenoverse or Heroes, there’s really not a whole lot left.
As weird as it sounds, ArcSys honestly knocked it out of the park TOO hard with FighterZ. A sequel would essentially just be doing the exact same thing over again with a few superficial roster changes.
its why i agree with people like Thorgi's Arcade, they shouldn't make a Fighterz 2, they should do this formula for other anime games. His choice was One Piece and i completely agree, but you could do this with pretty much ANY Battle shonen manga
@@SharinganVizard07 Mine is for JoJo, but the sky's the limit for IPs. Good luck on them.
@@SharinganVizard07 I've been saying this for years. I'd want them to do it with Star Wars and base the art direction off Genndy's Clone Wars.
In principle, I agree, but there are some good picks they could pick, like Omega Shenron, Tao, and some of the skipped movie villains like Android 13. I'm happy with what we got, but it's not like there's nothing left on the table
Another fighterz that has rollback by default. And more gt characters like Super 17 or Omega Shenron
"Every character has a touch of death now...how do we figure out who's better?"
Give it time pat, the Hokuto no Ken fans did.
Finally
Lore-accurate DBZ fights
This patch is OMEGA mode, but its just the standard game now
1:25 It was either more Goku's or just have less characters in the game. They used pretty much every possible character they could put into the game without reaching into the really obscure one-off characters that wouldn't have sold well
Unironically DBFZ was my #1 fighting game for the longest time, I made it to top 500 even, but I dropped off after work got busy and I couldn't keep up with the game anymore. I need real talk from the comments. Is this a good time to get back in or nah? Last time I played was like Bardock era
we get it Woolie, you learned a new word.
We need FPS games to start doing this at end of life. Like yeah, reloading while mag dumping, sure.
I'm not against these wild changed tbh, but the problem with doing it ws the final patch is you don't get to patch the unintended bullshit that comes from it.
Ratio tourneys gonna be wild for this game
Whats pat mean it's like sailor moon now?
Check out the sailor moon fighting game. It's a trip
@@coldfrost3Tf?!
@@DDespicable it's crazy right
Pretty good case in point as to why balancing games for The FGC ruins fun let fighting games be broken and dumb again.
DP into command grab. I want you to think about that, Woolie.
It’s the end!
Massive shake up patches like this always make me feel a little weird about them from a game preservation angle, even when I like the end result. Patches in general can be an odd thing to consider with preservation (preserving EVERY patch wouldn't likely be feasible even if game companies made it possible), but with cases like this, or WOW, or TF2, where the modern game is almost a completely different beast from the one that originally released, it's especially relevant. Not to mention that for people who bought the game and liked it as it was day 1, it can sometimes feel like the devs ripped the game you payed for out of your hands, and then replaced it with something different, with no way to get the game you originally bought back.
Finally the insane canon power levels is in da game!!!
please explain "sailor moon is in this"
WHERE IS OPILA BIRD?!?
Like.
Why do you say Yamcha like that
I mean Overwatch is slowly escaping being an e-sport but it was also a fake e-sport and playing it requires you to sell your soul and potentially wallet.
I said as much on the video with Reggie but this patch really isn't THAT insane. Characters already killed you in sparking before. You can tell from these reactions who hasn't been playing the game tbh.
"if everyone is broken, no one is broken."
Good example for why "Buff, don't nerf." is a good guideline for balancing. Nerfing can easily take the fun out of things. Buffing a counter can add fun on the other side instead. Listen to the "hey wouldn't it be cool if..." people instead of the "this is so unfair remove it" people. Listen to the fun idea people instead of the whiners. Give, don't take away.
this doesnt sound fun
I'm so tired man, we had a good thing
It's going to be so weird in like 10 years when all their hair will be white
I wish someone would explain to me why some folks want fighting games to be like that. Do they not understand, or just not care, that some people genuinely have no ability to react to or keep up with the stuff the game expects you to keep up with, thereby destroying what possible community the game could have in favor of only people who have those weird gifts of timing and reaction time?
It reminds people of the old days. Of MVC2, whose community lasts to this day (as much as it can due to lack of re-releases since PS3/X360, but that's finally getting addressed)
It's not that much of a gift though, not to mention that there's already plenty of great fighting games that go for slower gameplay and that the more hardcore stuff is very much able to make and maintain a community despite their "unapproachabilty".
A game made for everybody is a game for nobody.
It’d be great if it went back underground again. You don’t get moment 37’s when things are balanced and mainstream. You don’t get Q’s beating Chunners levels of hype when things are balanced period.
the thing with reaction time is it isnt a gift, its a trained skill, you CAN learn and train yourself to react to that kind of stuff, it just takes time and dedication
a lot of people dont understand is that fighting games are inherently NOT fit for casual players unless they are okay with being considered fish in a barrel for anyone of higher skill
hell the only "fighting" game i can think of that has everyones skill level in mind and tries to have everyone be equal is fucking smash ultimate and thats BARELY even a fighting game
Well the reaction argument doesn't really work with fighting games because every fighting game is balanced around the same human reaction time window. I would make the exact same argument about low-forward into drive rush or Fierce punch -> Drive Impact in Street Fighter 6. Or trying to remember when and which way to side step in the middle of a random string against one of the 100 Tekken characters. The big difference between this and that is that the combos go longer in DBFZ.
