I was crying silently as I read it because it lovingly and accurately described the many feelings that envelope us when we keep reminders of a beloved loss around us. I can imagine that her presence weighs incredibly heavy on you with all of these beautiful reminders and memories surrounding you in your own home. It is as heavy as your love for her was light. Thank you so much for sharing her with us. I shed tears for her and for your honest grief. Take that amazing love you have for Munchkin and keep spreading it towards your beautiful flock.
I’m so sorry Krissy, loosing a pet, a friend, for any reason is the worst, just rips part of your heart out. It’s a special bond when you take care of a critter, and they take care of you. You did her every kindness, throughout her life, and even in death, she got to go quietly. She didn’t pass violently. I haven’t lost my other half to death, but to circumstance, but there’s a hole in your chest where they should be. It doesn’t get lighter, you get stronger to carry it, then once in a while, it hits you like a semi. Sending you and all the critters love.

Hi Krissy. I just recently found your videos of Munchkin and seen this video of her gone. I am so sorry about Munchkin. When you are describing when the week before was a nightmare and all your sad feelings about her not physically being here on Earth & Maple missing her.( I'm sorry about Brownie too.) I am feeling the same way as you because 1 of my pet ducks died on the 18th. He had a tumor & cancer. By what you were discussing, he did have a hunchback & was breathing heavily. I tried everything for him, including going to a specialist & I left him there for 2 days because the veterinarian recommended it & he died at the vet as well. He was 6 yrs old as well & I got him in 2017. He was almost 7 yrs old. He died 9 days before his hatch day. He loved vegetables & fruit especially green beans & watermelon. Also, his friends notice something is wrong & another of my ducks died last year in August. I feel hopeless.

I lost my dog who I considered my best friend as well around a year ago and it was hard. It will get though and will take time but I’ve learned the memories we share with our pets are a blessing as well and helps keep them alive in its own way. Having a pet companion is both a blessing and a curse. It's blessing because of all the beautiful memories you create with them. Those times when you're feeling down and they're there to cheer you up even in the smallest of ways. Those times when you're sick and they're your strength to get well. When you couldn't eat food in peace because what's yours is theirs. It's a curse because life isn't forever, for any of us human or creature and having to say "See you on the other side" is the most painful part. Even though that scar will heal over time, it will always be there. I think Munchkin knows how much you love her, how much the flock love her and she has become your guardian angel. If anything, take solace in that you are not going through this alone and the rest of your flock is there to keep you going 💙
💜 I wish any words helped that pain. All I've got is, "Yeah, it hurts bad. But a lot of people really do understand. For what it's worth, you're not alone." (It didn't help me much either when I would have ripped the world apart to get my furry best friend back.)
You have my condolences. The irony of losing love ones, especially non human children, ia that it will never get easier to cope with loss, and it will always get harder. Munchkin was an adorable call duck, and i remember when Uncle Farmer Ben from Urban Rescue Ranch was able to welcome Munchkins offspring into his flock, and i believe theyre still alive and kicking. So while ypu will no doubt be upset, celebrate her life and what she accomplished. If a single human being was able to raise munchkin, her sublings/mate and her offspring, then you can always rest easy knowing that she lives on in her children.

Having a pet companion is both a blessing and a curse. It's blessing because of all the beautiful memories you create with them. Those times when you're feeling down and they're there to cheer you up even in the smallest of ways. Those times when you're sick and they're your strength to get well. When you couldn't eat food in peace because what's yours is theirs. It's a curse because life isn't forever, for any of us human or creature and having to say "See you on the other side" is the most painful part. Even though that scar will heal over time, it will always be there. I think Munchkin knows how much you love her, how much the flock love her and she has become your guardian angel. If anything, take solace in that you are not going through this alone and the rest of your flock is there to keep you going 💙
💜 I wish any words helped that pain. All I've got is, "Yeah, it hurts bad. But a lot of people really do understand. For what it's worth, you're not alone." (It didn't help me much either when I would have ripped the world apart to get my furry best friend back.)

You have my condolences. The irony of losing love ones, especially non human children, ia that it will never get easier to cope with loss, and it will always get harder. Munchkin was an adorable call duck, and i remember when Uncle Farmer Ben from Urban Rescue Ranch was able to welcome Munchkins offspring into his flock, and i believe theyre still alive and kicking. So while ypu will no doubt be upset, celebrate her life and what she accomplished. If a single human being was able to raise munchkin, her sublings/mate and her offspring, then you can always rest easy knowing that she lives on in her children.
I'm grieving Munchkin, a duck I never had the privilege to meet, harder than I have grieved some family members! She was such a special duck, sending you much love and support ❤
Munchkin will be in our hearts forever… I lost a duck just like munchkin.. snowflake. A white, adorable duck. He died when I was away at a friends house and it was so sad to hear the news when I got back. This was so hard to watch, so nostalgic. Fly high munchkin and snowflake ….

Munchkin was a beautiful and loving duck. They were lucky to have you as their forever person. It hurts now because its fresh, and everything you see reminds you of them. Take your time.
