Alright. I live in Singapore and most of the time I go there. It's not even an airport guys. It's a 5 star luxury public mall with runways and planes outside.

So on the weekends the airport actually becomes their neighbourhood mall. I was there the other day and outside the food court, they were screening a movie. Ye Hang Yeo that doesn’t make any sense. The whole idea of investments like this is the end goal of creating tourism revenue. I was there last year for a 3 hour layover, I wish it was a bit longer as it was such a lovely place to wander. Not the jewel btw, that was still under construction. Just airport in general. I was relaxing in the cactus garden with a beer or two. It was lovely. But then unfortunately my flight to Bali was announced 🙄 Hard times I know...
Despite the fact Singapore has restricted aspects of the its people’s freedoms, the economic miracles they’ve been able to pull off and the way they’ve been able to mesh that with the environment is truly incredible. It’s amazing to see such a display of both the natural and man made world come together, especially in an airport of all places - since once people enter Singapore, this is what they’ll see. Truly, Singapore is a gem of the world.
I wouldn’t use despite of, restricted freedoms and economic performance are near mutually exclusive. Way👏🏾 to👏🏾 go👏🏾 Singapore! One of my favorite Nation States in the world. I will never forget my time living there at Grand Hyatt Singapore. I’m either living there or Costa Rica. Bye Us
haha. btw I'm from Singapore and Singapore is not s State it's s Country
Pek Ai Beng a nation state is basically when a vast majority of people share the same culture. hes not calling singapore a state- 😐
If I'd wake up suddenly in this place you can trick me into saying I time travelled to the future.
Honestly, if you’ve been to this airport, even before this jewel, ypu hardly appreciate any other airports anymore. 😂 happens to me.
MissMia Perry I’ve been there even before the Jewel falls
Me too
Sumaiya Parveen same

so true
I used to live in Singapore, and let me tell you, this is an airport you DO NOT want to leave!
Edit: Just came back from a visit and the Jewel IS AWESOME. So many great and fun things to do! 10/10 would do again.
I’ve been there, the Pokémon store is LITerally cool.
Hey, in this video, it's said that theatre is free.. Is that true? Or have I misheard it? 🤔
@@hn1744 theres free movie showings but you don’t decide what show comes on. There are cinemas in other terminals of the airport where u have to pay like normal ones :)
Yeah I like it a lot, it’s a little small though.
Changi is indeed an impressive airport. I wish the airports here in the NY metropolitan area were like that
Lmao be prepared to pay increased taxes
Lmfaooo NY is spending $8 billon on lagurdia and in no way shape or form it will be anything like this amazing airport
Only if the Trump administration wants to make upgrading existing airports a top priority for the aviation industry but too bad he doesn't have the foresight like Lee Kuan Yew
lxy315lxy The Trump Administration has nothing to do with US airports which are run not on a Federal level but by local governments and Port Authorities of the area.
Why care much having an airport like this
Singapore: Makes a crazy airport that costs 1.3B
China: Takes a deep breath and checks wallet

Visited Singapore back in 2010, 2012 and 2015 even though the facilities weren't as many as today's Changi Airport I honestly felt comfortable there. I wish I could visit it again
Is there even a word to describe it? I'm speechless!!!!
"Speechless" is the best word to describe it.
and spectacular
Exuberant. Over spent 💝🎉
Jewel.
@@mohdfaizal6773 Overspent? Most airports cost over 5 billion to build, & they don't even come close to this! Singapore is on a whole other level...
I visited singapore 2 times...the country is totally awesome ...and above the expectations ..
The waterfall opened the day I got back to England, from Singapore.
I. WAS. SO. FLIPPING. ANNOYED.
When EVERYONE pays taxes that go into infrastructure and education, and not some greedy old guys pocket.
Singapore has very low tax rates though.
But Singapore have the highest car tax or indirect car tax through the ERP (electronic road price or everyday robbing people)
Oh man, you have no idea...go check out the salaries ministers in Singapore get and the Gini coefficient of Singapore. They do all this stuff to hide all the shady shit that happens in Singapore, what I mentioned doesn't even scratch the surface.
Socialists understand the great public/private housing model they have to counteract the high cost of living.
@@xoom1712 why do you need to steal money when you are paid enough money?
singapore is such a innocent and nice country. rich, environmentally friendly, friendly and futuristic. i do wish that instead of moving to the uk, we should’ve moved to singapore❤️
I'm Singaporean and I'm glad to hear that :) which country are you from?
I lived there and it's too expensive...
I lived there but I moved to India for my study's
I'll go back for college tho
Decent country, very modern. Lots of racial bias to non-chinese folk tho. Also quite small so not many sights to see (unless you're okay with staying indoors for most of your stay)
Abit late but good shit, this is what modern architecture should be about, not mass-produced cubes.
They earned that title. That place looks amazing!
I will go see it next week. it's awesome.
I’m so glad I’m in Singapore it’s really so beautiful
Well done, Singapore! I hope to visit you soon again!
I've been there even before the jewel and It's still beautiful my goodness the bathrooms are very clean and the airport was relaxing
Most definitely visiting this place before I leave this earth

Singapores top landmarks are either American or European designed.
The hotels with the floating island was designed by an American firm and owned by an American firm from Las Vegas. Their top themepark is also American designed, owned, and operated. This terminal was European/American designed from top to bottom.
So I'm not sure why you're asking Singapore how to build things.. Germany, France, UK, US boast the top construction firms in the entire world.
The british government is legit the ruler of singapore but singapore is big enough to have its own government

I have been to several major airports in the world, and I still feel absolutely amazed by Changi Airport when I land in Singapore. The cleanliness, the efficiency, the food, shops and now the beautiful landscape of Jewel, the rest of the world can really learn a lot from Singapore.
smart person
Ask the greatest man who changed the country
Mr Lee Kuan Yew
its very beautiful ,i like this very mutch.thanks your video
I was there last year for a 3 hour layover, I wish it was a bit longer as it was such a lovely place to wander. Not the jewel btw, that was still under construction. Just airport in general. I was relaxing in the cactus garden with a beer or two. It was lovely. But then unfortunately my flight to Bali was announced 🙄
Hard times I know...
I got the privelege of living nearby Singapore so in 99% of the trips I get layovers there
Despite the fact Singapore has restricted aspects of the its people’s freedoms, the economic miracles they’ve been able to pull off and the way they’ve been able to mesh that with the environment is truly incredible. It’s amazing to see such a display of both the natural and man made world come together, especially in an airport of all places - since once people enter Singapore, this is what they’ll see. Truly, Singapore is a gem of the world.
@The Solicitor Singapore has low tax.
@The Solicitor We pay lower tax and have better healthcare and lower education debt. You're so ignorant yet spouting nonsenses so confidently lmao
@The Solicitor lmfao u sound so ignorant
I wouldn’t use despite of, restricted freedoms and economic performance are near mutually exclusive. Just look at how China is faring vs India right now.
@The Solicitor It is true that Singaporeans as a whole work longer hours than their western counterparts, but your comment about Singaporeans getting the shit taxed out of them is invalid when I’m paying twice the amount of taxes in the US by comparison. I don’t recall slaves being paid a national average of USD$4000 per month either. You might want to do a simple fact-check in the future before disgracing yourself on the internet.
I just wanted to give credit to Singapore about how economically and ecologically cohesive they are, how did this evolve into such a spitfire contest
Wow it's very beautiful
They’ve got really nice mints at passport security
Yeah
