It's always epic to get a full song. Even more epic to get a song with an extra element like vocals (which were awesome). Then...what's beyond epic for getting to see all the pieces that went into forging the song (the plugins and musical process) on top of it all? I don't know, but it's for sure epic. Great job, dudes!!
Awesome job on this! You really have a knack for capturing the essence of the bands you cover. I can't stand Nickelback (couldn't even make it 1/2 way through the original version), but as a massive Meshuggah fan....this is amazing!
This was fucking awesome, Burn It is my favourite Nickelback song and that riff is absolutely killer so I absolutely love this, plus Otu always kills it with his covers so this was great. Good shit, Pete
I really like the original song. This is also dope as hell. Fantastic job! I'd love to hear Conscience & Consequence by Thornley done in Meshuggah style. That would sound awesome!
This is SICK, my friend, I absolutely loved it. Could you please do One Step Closer in the style of Opeth next? Denis Pauna has a MEAN growl, I guess you could collaborate with him on it. Please, please, pleeeeease?
Sick stuff! I think the solo section was the most Meshuggah. The rest of the song carried, necessarily, in my opinion, a lot of the DNA of the original Nickelback song which means it just doesn't have the menace of your typical Meshuggah song. Maybe reminds me a little bit of Inmazes era VOLA moreso than Meshuggah.
Yeah, the instrumental was a lot djentier than the original but the vocals were surprisingly subpar. Not an easy task though, so kudos to Moon for participating at all.
This video just highlights how much Nickelback has regressed through the years. Their first couple of albums were actually pretty hard. I cannot say the same for modern Nickelback.
So weird, as amazing as this was to have done, it actually strangely doesn't translate as well to this style in a full song.... Edit: And the middle section hit and things went wild. The slight transitions and riffs work sooooo much better after that weird bridge thing. Wasn't sold at first then it went hard. Great job!!!
Expertly done but the butt rock is still showing :=) - those lyrix absolutely blow. But it was nevertheless well pulled (at random..?), great take on that bridge riff.
Yes, it’s actually already been sent to Spotify. It sometimes takes a few days to show up though (especially because of the Holidays). Keep checking back and it should appear there in the next day or so :)
Do you write the midi for your bass and drums? Or do you find something that sounds good with your guitar tracks. I struggle finding drum tracks that actually work with my guitar riffs.
Thanks for watching everybody! Check out all the Toontrack plugins here: bit.ly/3VNNIgS
Thanks for having me onboard the ship of djent my man!
Pleasure as always my dude. You nail it every time :)
Super cool! Thanks!!!
@@peteplaysmusicwhere did he mail it too?
Hahaha oops
You’re the best!
Meshuggleback sounds like it could be Yiddish for "scoliosis."
"Chaotic falling down the stairs vibe" is definitely the quote of the week. XD
quote that perfectly sums up what the world has become...
Last time I fell down the stairs, it was chaotic enough.
Works suprisingly well, dude nailed Jens' style vocals!
God I hope Nickelback hear this and then lean into it on their next album lol
Nickelback can legit be heavy when they want to :)
They already did a whole Djent(ish) album (feed the machine).
It's a solid 7/10
do a meshuga song in the style of nickleback next please !
dammit beat me to it!
Sounds like if Meshuggah wanted to do their own “St. Anger” in a sense of “being mainstream”
Sounds awesome.
Hah, especially with that solo

Bringing Meshuggahback
🤣

Oh yeah with Moonic!!! Awesome 🤘
Would actually listen to an album of random cover songs like this
Man, this is really good! Every time i watch your videos the ideas come and i want to take my guitar and play too. Nice job!
So fucking metal!! 🤘🏽 the bridge and solo is amazing
I slipped today on black ice and hurt my Meshuggelback
getting Moon in this as AWESOME! that guy doesn't miss
Otu just dropping in to be the King of Covers.
Just reminds me of Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode. Maybe do Personal Jesus in a style of Meshuggah cause the work in this song reminds me of that.
Well you made this song 10 times better! Poly-magic!
The shirt! It's the *Metallica* connection between Nickelback and Meshuggah!
Sooooooooo good!! Awesome job from you both.
Sounds like a weird mix of Meshuggah and stoner metal
Tbh it sounds more like sped up stoner metal than Meshuggah
I really like the original song. This is also dope as hell. Fantastic job!
I'd love to hear Conscience & Consequence by Thornley done in Meshuggah style. That would sound awesome!
I’m a simple man I see a Nickelback video I click
Now that's a video title that cant be ignored
This melted the paint off of my new man-cave walls.
this was fucking incredible
Thanks! :)
sounds like djent Cathedral, with "Hatebreed but it's Tom Warrior on vocals" that was rad 🤘
Has a very bluesy vibe that I wouldn’t normally go for but I love this time around
Just great!🤘

Awesome work, great mix! Just my 2 cents, moving the snare hit around in the rhythm of some sections of the song would add to the Meshuggah feel.
Hell yeah 🤘
That is one snarly ass guitar tone, so sick
This video just highlights how much Nickelback has regressed through the years. Their first couple of albums were actually pretty hard. I cannot say the same for modern Nickelback.
Sounds like djent death and roll. Love it!
part of that sounded like 'wild eyes' by the stampeders.
bro accidentally wrote an A Life Once Lost track
Great band
@OrganicShadows-ec9rr So good.
wow. singer is amazing
I like this alot!

I also have a heater near my table lol! It's getting chilly
Asking the question no one else dared to ask. 😂
For science! :)
@@peteplaysmusic hahaha yes 🤘🏻
Meshuggah nickelback is just meat hook by mick Gordon
Why did it take 8 hours for this to pop up in my feed AhHHH
In mean... talent is talent but Chad's vocals on this one...
Expertly done but the butt rock is still showing :=) - those lyrix absolutely blow. But it was nevertheless well pulled (at random..?), great take on that bridge riff.
Pretty bad ass.
Infinitely better than the original.
if only the dude on vocals would have shaved his head...
Haha I’ll ask Otu :)
If Nickelback sounded like Meshuggah, the same people would complain. :D

Hey Pete, are you going to release this to Spotify?

@@peteplaysmusic Awesomeness! Can't wait to start streaming it! 🤘
Meshuggahfy everything!!
Lol… like let’s say.. Creed
The verse would have to be even more contrary to resemble Meshuggah.
Its best Nickelback what I listed in my life)))))
joyofthedizzy

I struggle finding drum tracks that actually work with my guitar riffs.
I usually write them yeah. I’ll often take a cymbal line or fill from a MIDI pack to help though :)
This is cool, but I kinda feel needs more Deftones / Chino vocals. Aka you've seen the butcher. DefshugahBack
you mean doom slayer music? I will take it
Noice
man i wish u would do a song with me... \m/
No hate. No shade. But can someone answer me here?
Am I tripping balls, or did vocal dude put his left hand on inside out?
I like Meshiggleback better.
Hate this. Do more🤘
First?
Congratulations, you are indeed first :)
Woooo look mum, I did it 🤣
