Yes..my opinion...the perfect dog!!! We've had a female almost 16 years....she was incredible! RIP Noelle!!! we r now getting a male and female standard! My wife's dream...she's a groomer for 30 years and simply loves the Schnauzer breed....needless to say, many animals in the house but the dogs rule!!!
We‘re a 3 generation house, torn between a Standard/Medium Schnauzer and a German Pinscher as a family and sports dog. Atticus is one beautiful and happy example. We love both breeds, but me and my daughter tend more towards the Standard. I grew up with overly independent Old German shepherds and a befriended female Dobermann, my wife with different dogs and cats from shelters. Such an awesome dog. My family of 4 was considering a giant schnauzer but are starting to lean more towards a standard schnauzer as we are 1st time dog owners.
I'm not sure I'd recommend a schnauzer as a first dog because they are VERY strong willed and independent. The dog here is extremely well trained. I'd go for a more obedient and easily trained dog breed, like a cocker spaniel, for a first dog.
@@namuseraici Our standard Bismarck is our first dog and no problem whatsoever! When he was in puberty we had some issues ( staying outside for the night to name one), but on the whole he was an easy dog to train and to live with!
I live in a small apartment in a small town I wanted a giant schnauzer but now that my mom is here I'm thinking about a standard so she don't get knocked down and a standard is just the right size to help me track down deer when I need help 😅😊I just love dogs ❤❤❤

Thank you very much… I didn’t use a book. I have been training dogs since I was a young boy and used techniques that I have found worked well after trial and error. Just remember to be consistent and extremely patient while training a Standard Schnauzer. They can be stubborn, but are very intelligent!

Atticus weighs 45lbs. Keep in mind that although they look similar..they are two separate breeds. A Standard is a working dog, and the require a lot of activity. I am outside every day for hours with Atticus. If you plan on long walks a Standard would do fine, otherwise I would suggest a miniature schnauzer which I also love! 🐾 🐾

That’s good advice! Standard Schnauzers could be extremely challenging for a 1st time dog owner.
