I know it's probably not going to happen but I hope Turtle wins. Him beating Peril probably the strongest fighter out of all of them shows that he can fight even without his animus magic. I did kinda think Turtle not having animus magic was kinda unfair since Peril has Flamescales but I guess it makes sense. If not Turtle then I think Snowfall would probably win, or Winter. Icewings are just naturally good fighters with the most broken attack in the entire series.
@@lahlybird895 I mean, probably. Frost breath from what I assume is a bigger attack than than rainwing venom. Even the first instance of it in the graphic novel in the Skywing Arena. It’s shown as a beam rather than actual breath. Which Rainwing venom is just a small sort of spew. Making frost breath harder to avoid. But on straight up contact they might be the same. And just like Rainwing venom, Frost breath is at best crippling, at worst death on contact.
@@Bluee-358 so I can use the graphic novels as a source but the way it's described within the actual book is that it's kind of like breathing crystal dust at somebody and it freezes on contact. Just like rain Wing acid it seems to work when contacting organic matter and never any on anything else as we've seen it dissolve harmlessly into the ground red and ice Wing missed. But while both attacks have the potential to be absolutely deadly I think that there's a serious disadvantage to frost breath that might make it one of the weakest range attacks in the series. If the additional hit is unsuccessful and the fight doesn't continue the damage done by frost breath can be completely undone with warm water or similar things for instance dune could have been completely saved from the breath hitting his wings and arm if burn hadn't interrupted his healing process and winter shot a beaver frost breath that hit Qibli during the earring fight but all he had to do to save his arm with stick it in a bowl of warm water and leave it there for a bit so it could thaw out. it really is just concentrated frostbite which can indeed be deadly but also can be completely ineffective if you give it a bit of time and know what you're doing. Listen to me honestly makes it weaker than even fire cuz wildfire isn't deadly to most you can't undo the damage from getting hit with fire unless you're a mudwing like clay otherwise you're definitely going to have scars and can lose limbs from it. And it is definitely in my opinion weaker than the rain Wing acid because when that acid contact the dragon scales it will start to burn through them there is no stopping it unless you know a relative and even if you do manage to stop it from burning you cannot undo what has already been burned without animus magic. It is absolutely devastating whether you miss or not.
Oh ok, I get your points. I thought of it from a standpoint of if a Rainwing and Icewing were fighting who would win using just Rainwing acid and just Frost breath. But over the long run, you're right, afterwards frost breath could be healed overtime. But Rainwing acid's effects would stay there forever. I'm still fairly sure that in a real fight, Frost breath would be stronger. When Winter shot Qibli with his frost breath. It was described to be so painful that it brought Qibli to paralysis and made his arm numb. Which in an actual fight, being frozen (No pun intended) mid fight by paralysis would definitely be a deciding factor in who wins. So even if it's not permanent like Rainwing acid it's still very strong in a fight. And it's definitely stronger than fire, as it's just really a searing pain to a dragon that probably wouldn't kill them off the bat like any of the other tribe specific attacks. But from a just damage standpoint Rainwing acid is probably a bit stronger in the end.@@lahlybird895
@@Bluee-358 you make a good point I will say that damage in a fight it probably actually is better than fire.. You're right being proven in battle is not fun but again neither is having your eyeballs melt out or have your face melted right on top of you which is what we've seen rain Wing acid. I can't imagine either to be particularly pleasant but we don't have any first-hand accounts of what getting hit with acid feels like, so I will give frost breath that point since we do get a first-hand account of the attack. Though it is unknown if everybody would freeze in a battle like that or if it was just Qibli, hood and pain whether you're expecting it or not is going to be painful and if you weren't expecting it you could probably free from shock regardless of what attack was being used we need more evidence to know if that's the case or not. And while it can be done it does take time and if it is not allowed to do that it actually can be devastating as you can just snap a dragon's limb right off as vurn proved. depends on the speed and also where it hits if it's probably just as effective in the eyes as acid would be though I don't want to know what would happen if somebody took a mouthful of raining magic death bit down the throat the way battle winner took her Frost blast, I'm feeling that idea particularly terrifying. I also wonder if rain Wing acid is affected by heat in any ways as we know frost breath does not work on Peril for more than a few seconds, so far she has never been attacked by a rain Wing so we do not know how that would affect anything but that's an interesting point to consider. But all the various things that may or may not kill Peril is a completely different conversation I have a whole theory about it :) And the fact that ice wings can be disabled by heat as we saw in the prologue of book 1 doesn't actually have to do with the attacking strength of the frost breath in question so that doesn't actually count against it. But I will give the acid a point in spreading damage as it will hit and then it will spread and keep eating its way through things whereas the ice Wing frost breath will only freeze the area it hits. Ultimately both attacks probably wouldn't be fun to get hit with then again neither is fire. Guess everybody has a pretty strong fighting power. Secretly the most powerful weapon here might actually be flamesilks. Sunsilk can burn through Stone according to the Wikipedia which is something even Peril and her superfire scales cannot do so it might just destroy everybody even if it's not a exhaled weapon the way the others are.
