Elise, thank you for this content. I enjoy shimmer and glitter shadows. Glitter especially. I am more mature and have been discouraged from using shimmer and glitter. I am told that I am too old to wear it. Watching you video has renewed my passion...I am going to keep wearing it. I typically use a dry brush just to add a little bit of something. I like the way I feel when I am wearing it. I think I will venture into using a fixative.

Hi, Michellene--You definitely hit on the most important factor in deciding whether to wear shimmer: how it makes you feel! We absolutely deserve to feel beautiful and it sounds like shimmer helps you feel that way which is fabulous.

I’ve avoided shimmer so as not to emphasize crepiness. But I am going to give it a try tomorrow because I probably could use some sparkle!

Hi, Carlene--It will be fun to give it a try. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for the useful information. I just bought the Pat McGrath Subliminal and Platinum Bronze palettes, so there is plenty of glitz to play with! Just trying to figure out softer looks with maybe a bit of color on the lower lash line. But my go-to for a long time has been the Tissé Essentiel palette by Chanel and even Bobby Brown Nude on Nude. I like them all!

Hi, Mickey--You're very welcome. What fun you're going to have with those wonderful new eye shadow palettes. And there certainly could be no better time to have some fun with them! Would love to hear what you think of them after you've had some time to play with them.

You mentioned in your site post (that brought me here) a favorite palette. Do you recall which one it was?

Oh my gosh, Michellene--I so wish I could, but that was quite awhile ago. But I can certainly mention some of my favorite palettes now that include shimmer: Bh Cosmetics "Passion in Paris" and "Blueberry Muffin," Colourpop's "Lush Life, " "Cabana Club" and "Orchid Me Not," Sydney Grace's "Enduring Love" palette and Juvia's Place "Warrior." But if you're looking strictly for a neutral palette or particular color combinations, let me know and I can provide some additional options.
