You surely can do a formula seating position, if you'd install the seat brackets correctly... 😅 The high part should obviously be in the front so you can tilt your seat back. Doesn't make sense to have the big part pointing backwards. Like this you could tilt your seat to the front...
Thanks for this awesome review. I’m building this exact set up with the Moza R9 and FSR wheel. Using a Samsung G9 monitor so I’m hoping with the thickness and curvature it sits closer and over the wheelbase
Did you use the integrated monitor mount? How do you like the position of the monitor? I’m looking at this with the same monitor and don’t know which mount to get
Nice review… I’ve been eyeing the tr8 pro for a while now and i think I’m ready to buy. Likely will get the reclining chair. Using csl dd pro. One of the cleanest reviews I’ve seen.
Any of you guys especially the guy on the video know how to mount the pedals he has. I have the same pedals and pedals but cat figure out how to mount. Great video btw.
I'm really torn between this and their TR80 Lite profile cockpit. I have no plans to use a shifter, so the lack of adjustability there doesn't matter to me. The smaller footprint of the TR8 is a plus, because the rig lives in a flexible living space, and needs to be able to be easily moved to the corner so it's out of the way and doesn't take up too much space when not in use. I won't be going crazy with add-ons either. Just a keyboard and tablet mount, and a buttkicker. The TV will be on a stand-alone mount in the corner of the room for regular use, so any concerns with monitor flex, vibration, positioning, etc, is not an issue either. Wheel setup will just be a Logitech G Pro setup for the foreseeable future. Kind of leaning towards the TR8 just for easy assembly, smaller footprint, appearance is more favorable to my wife, etc. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!
One of the main reasons I chose the TR8 Pro over an 8020 rig was the appearance. It looks really sleek compared to the industrial style of an 8020. The TR80 Lite would be ideal if you need adjustability, whereas the TR8 Pro is more limited in terms of customisation and adding parts but looks much cooler imo. Bare in mind the TR8 Pro is still a heavy and sturdy rig, so isn’t the easiest to move. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on moving it often. Hope this helps man
Bought the cockpit, and I have some concerns about 3 aspects... 1 - The monitor stand wiggles a bit because the screws ate half a milimeter too long and can't screw enought to tighten the monitor stand. Minor problem, but it shouldn't exist. 2 - The support for the bucket seat has 3 positions to attach to the main structure, but only one of the positions aligns with the base holes. The others can't be screwed, they are there only for show. 3 - The small screws that fit the rail (4 each side 4mm? diameter) dont reach the threads with the washers provided, you either take one of the two washers, or put a longer screw. Other than that, fantastic piece.
How does this frame work with shorter people? I'm 5'6" (168cm) and want to make sure the wheel won't be mounted too high. I love the look of this frame when compared to the extrusion frames, but I worry about the wheel height since the baseplate cannot be adjusted.
Do you think mounting the monitor mount backwards added to the monitor shake? It looks like only half of the base of the monitor mount is over the plate, and the rest is hanging over the edge unsupported. If it were the correct way, it would all be supported.
Haha. Thanks. I completely agree. I tried to cable tie them down the rig, and then they all meet the floor and mess happened. I will get a proper cable tidy box or something so it doesn't offend in future videos! : )
Hello! Do you remember how tall the smallest person you recommend is? Is it suitable for my 140cm child? The Trak racer wrote that it is suitable from120cm, but I'm afraid only because of the sale.
I saw on the trx you can install the steering mount upside down so the wheel is much lower for an f1 style. Curious if this is possible on the tr8 pro. Let me know
Interesting. I mean you certainly can mount it upside down, but it will make the wheel incredibly low. I'm running an F1 position on my TR8 Pro with a custom raised pedal plate, and my wheel plate is mounted the right way up and its ideal. You can raise or lower the wheel plate up to a couple of inches
So you raised the pedals? Please tell me how. I, a fan of the trx but rigidity looks better on the tr8 pro. If I can raise the pedals then I’ll save $400 Love your videos.
im 6'6.. Would this rig suit me ? you mentioned you were about 6'1 . is there more room for those extra couple of inches ? or do you have your seat and pedals as far as they can go ?
Tbh it probably would be a little uncomfortable at 6’6. The seat is about at the end with a little extra room to go further back and the wheel is as far as it can go towards the seat
Hey I’m really tempted to buy this cockpit but I’ve seen people talking about the height of the wheel position. Do you think it would be a problem for a short person (169m , 5"7) thank you
The wheel height is pretty perfect for me, around 182cm. I have the wheel plate mounted on its middle setting. It can go lower. I also have the seat mounted on its lowest height, so that can come up as well. There is a fair bit of adjustability to make things work.
@@SimRacingSetups I think you would find it more comfortable about 2 inches closer. Not trying to be "that guy" but your arms are about 60 degrees when should be 90. You're really extending in a turn and steering with shoulders vs chest.
Build it out of 2x4, it will be stronger and you don't have to deal with this company and their wobbly junk products. Awful product, Awful company to deal with.
@SimRacingSetups I have bought 4 of their products, 5 if you count the brackets for a seat. All of its cheaply made garbage. The 8020 stuff is probably fine but you are paying more for no reason. They just slap their name on it and bump the price 20-30%. Their are several companies that are making better products with better prices. It's sad that people push their stuff so much when they are ripping you off hard-core. I wish I had never listened to any content creators when I started out. Could have saved myself a lot of time and money. Absolutely DO NOT buy the round stock crap. it definitely will fall short of expectations. If your going to allow yourself to be robbed at least get the extruded aluminum stuff because even they can't mess that up. If you like over paying then by all means.
@@motozfighterb1189 Lol bullshit, and seriously are you talking 4x2 timber? Wood flexes..... My trakracer stuff has been solid, you sound like you may work for another company in simracing :)
I got the exact same rig around 3 months ago. It's solid and I'm happy with my buy. Highly recommend. It cost me $1500 Australian so yeah pricey
Yea it is a fantastic rig. I'm very impressed with it. So sturdy
You got raped if you paid 1500 for round stock rig. This company is awful too.
@@SimRacingSetups Great review so ordered with the seat and monitor mount what price am I looking at?
Do u have any problem with the manual shift support? And if I’m allowed to ask what seat did u use and how much inch is your monitor?

It is a lovely cockpit

What seat you recommend for playing f1 -24? Also what are you thought on the F1 playseat?

Should check out sim hound, they have the cheapest 80/20 rigs out there, atleast ones that i've seen compared to all the rest.

Nice review. The rig looks decent tbf
I'm thinking of buying this today but nervous as hell!
It is a big commitment man, so don't rush it! But trust me, it's a great sim rig. I'm more than happy.
Me want
What size monitor are you using in this video? Thanks in advance
35 inch. It's just about right, but could go up to 40 inch quite happily
Love this Rig it does look professional shame about your wiring tho it needs tidied up apart from that the setup is eoic

Looks fantastic and exactly what im after - what was the game you was playing around 7:55 is that F1?
At 7:55 its Assetto Corsa Competizione
Hey is it normal to have very loud vibrations when i drive over curbs?
Great review! How would you rate this sim versus Rseat S1?
That’s a cool rig man. Is it really that sturdy?
Hi, question - is there a wheel height adjustment on this rig? seems like I can see only a tilt adjustment and forward/backward
Yes, you can mount the wheel plate at different heights using the side fixing where the wheel plate meets the tubular rig.
The pedal flex is a no-go for me.
Does the keyboard tray will go under the steering wheel? Looking some tray that can stay infront of you.
No it sits off to the side

LG UltraGear Gaming Monitor 34GN73A-B

You have installed the seat brackets backwards. The other way around you can recline even more. How many inch is that monitor?
Yep, that was intentional to get the seat lower to the ground and into a more formula racing position! The monitor is a curved 35"

simetik is way worse and looks cheap af, i prefer tr8 pro

Is there a side mount option for dd1? Or is it just the mount stand your Moza base is on?
You can get an additional front mount for a DD1 I believe
