I've been watching your channel for a while and am continuously impressed at how much progress your boys have made and keep making. You guys are great parents!
I am amazed with how well the boys handle the mall! I am 4 days away from turning 14 and on the spectrum, and I still can’t go almost anywhere, especially malls without headphones, fidgets, and comfort items.
I’m always fascinated with your mall. It’s so big with so many things to experience. My son isn’t bothered by noise or lights too much but hates crowds, especially strangers looking at him or talking to him, so doesn’t like to go to places like this. He would also likely end up with a migraine and stomach ache.
I watched this when it came out but I'm now just commenting I'm so proud of the boys and how far they have come like when Allister had to leave the tank and train toys he verbalized he was frustrated and why he was. I'm so proud of these boys and there autism journey
I don't think any of this experience is silly. Not only is it an awesome place but all the sensory input serves a legitimate purpose. It really helps train the brain how to handle everything. A slow process but it is beneficial in the long term. I won't lie - I'd spend a ton of time smelling the candles lol.
I really like these vids cause I like them and cause it shows me that the mall can be fun even when there are a lot of people and is very overstimulating. Thank you ❤️
I love how your children are enjoying the experience i wish i can go into a mall and let my daughter experience all these things without having to worry about ppl saying something or asking us not to touch, can't do that in my country i envy you guys but i loved watching it gives me hope that one day i can do this for my daughter thank you for sharing
In the name of juses your family is so strong and powefull .parents are so understand about their children .your family get the greatest blessing from God .love you all so much .am a special education teacher in sri 🇱🇰 .now am in europe .not working l like this channel 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Looked so much fun, wish I was there. thanks for sharing:) your channel helping me learn more and not be shamed of my autism. Thank you again, Merry Christmas:)
Hi thanks for your video I have a couple of questions if u don’t mind what was the light up tank called and the cars as I’d love to buy them the other thing is we’re is the mall located as it was a great looking mall
I love these videos because I always love to go to the mall as I think I’ve said before as a reward with my peer mentor and show him my rhythm game skills I have at round1 and such, and how like it’s one of my fav things to do Also merry Christmas/happy holidays! Hope Ian and Connor and allister and you and brittney have a great Christmas and new year!
What are your thoughts on MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) and a possible link to Autism? Diets? Could be one part of many into discovering the secrets behind Autism. *There is not much anyone can do about MSG because it comes pre packaged or pre cooked into some of the foods we like. Its a theory that I have heard about for many years and always been curious.
Love you guys (I'm family)! ❤️ Your boys are doing great because you have a strong parent team and do so much for the welfare of your children and their happiness. I love how you do fun things despite there being a chance of a meltdown or sensory overload! I know all too well the mixed up medication stuff. It has happened a few times with my oldest son on the spectrum. Poor Ian. He looked so comfy on that bed. ❤️ Alistair did great! He was upset but was able to redirect pretty easily. How did you accomplish that? That's 1 of my greatest challenges with my 5 yo on the spectrum. He is not easily redirected. He resists everything. We are starting to feel like he's in charge and I hate it! I need your experience on this.
Hi Sabrina. It's simply a matter of redirecting over time and getting him used to that not being a big deal. I also give him a safety net statement "Christmas is coming, we may get that toy for Christmas". FYI we ordered him that light up car on Amazon (half the price of the mall booth) so we meant it. But that helped him get past that moment. Sometimes it doesn't work and we have to walk back to the car, but those moments are becoming more and more rare.
@Autism Family thanks for the guidance. We do that aswell when it's over a toy or something. We say things similar it just doesn't work that often with him. He's still 5 and learning. How old is Allister? Is he 7 now?
About 3 months ago I went to bath and body works, and I ended up having a sensory overload about 2 minutes of being there cause there were so many people and so many smells. Most perfume smells make me feel sick, so I try to avoid going to places that have those smells.
Do your boys use noise cancelling headphones when it gets to loud? Maybe you can make a video where the boys use headphones in the mall to block out the noises and to see what difference it makes when they wear them and when they don’t. Btw you guys are my favorite UA-camrs :)
Nothing but strip malls around here there’s a few, but they’re not worth going to. There’s no stores in them from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania. We love the King of Prussia Mall. And that’s where you want to get your pretzels from unbelievable.
Connor when I get sensory overload I feel tired but have also had the worst stomach pains. Do you think that could be the issue? At least for me when I have overload I eat too much to take my attention from everything or feel sick and don't feel like eating then when I am relaxed I eat a lot. Just something to think about. Love their personalities as they are Ian is really awesome as he is. I am an avoider all that sensory input overwhelms me smells, sounds ect. If I wanted it I would get it you don't need to shove it down my throat.
I hear you. In this case I think it was the food because I (dad) got a stomach ache later on in the day too. Connor usually handles the sensory input well, but it's good that you mentioned this.
@@AutismFamilyChannel definitely I love 🎢 but a weekend at universal is enough can't do a week. Mentioning it if it becomes a pattern when he's out of the house that is a sign for me.
No not every body has an amount of autism, you can have some traits of autism and not be autistic but your either autistic or not autistic, not everyone has autism
My son use to do stimming at the time of play and while doing homework,at that time he will have so much tension in his face, how to reduce that tension
With me being a crazy ADHD idiot, I get the exact same feeling in these types of places. Causing me to go bloody mad I do stim Alot, my room is covered in fidget toys that I can never be botherered to clean
@@AutismFamilyChannel Ohh thanks! It's just a name me and my friends give ourselves like as in the silly funny way, I've recently developed a love for your channel as I relate to it alot, keep making your great videos as usual!
You know what’s funny my son doesn’t like ketchup at all lol, but he loves mustard and mayo lol . I just don’t get it lol I think he’s more on the sour side than sweet ! And loves pickles too lol.
are you sure you are doing the right thing by presenting your sons like this? i can't imagine your sons growing up being happy to have been presented in this way. But it is your decision, which is certainly not only to be classified altruistically.

When Alistair said 'Wow, it smells like simanim' my heart melted 😭
You are just the BEST dad! Way to go, Robbie! I’m one proud little sister! 🥰🙌🏼
Love you Aspen 😊

Ian, you did very well while you were dealing with the side effects of your medication.
Such an amazing parent almost like an expert psychologist. ❤
Sorry for Ian I hope he doesn’t have a ruff day I support him and Connor

@@irenelowe9739 yeah, what about Alistair ?
3:00 ur mall has booths? I wish our mall had booth seating. I hate sitting at the hard wooden chairs and tables. Great vids btw always fun to watch
Your kids are all so cute and sweet! Really nice family. 🫶🏻
You are a lovely dad.
Nope it’s not bothersome at all I think it’s cool that you show it all even food even the foods of likes. Thank you this was fun
Another great video thanks you guys are awesome

I make Sensory dolls they can bring with them when they are in settings like this for when things become a little overwhelming
I hope Ian and Connor will get better soon
Also,I will change my religion to Chirstian later,it really makes me calm and relaxing

A sensory game I play on my tablet called Fluid really helps when I need sensory input. An even better game is magic fluids lite.

Can you do a video sharing their co-morbidities, if they have any and if they give you permission?
I would love all the sensory things you mentioned but it would be too crowded for me like Alistair. Crowds cause me anxiety 😬
Hi merry Christmas everybody here at Chicago this is I live
I don't need to be there and i can feel and smell everything but for me words have smell and taste and even shapes and colors
Non-autistic people love their family more than autistic people love theirs. I’m like that because I’m autistic.
