In my history of playing games I've always been one to play on the most Normal or Medium difficulty possible as it gives me enough of a challenge to get through any game with no real frustration. However the idea of trophy hunting has made me play more games on hard, extreme, brutal whatever you want to call it and to a degree I feel like I'm a better gamer for it. I’m definitely in the devastation stage of the Persona 5 Royal platinum. Love the game but there is a new missable trophy where you go to the jazz club and if you don’t level up akechi’s confidant then you can’t go to the jazz club. It took me until the epilogue to realize I was never getting in so now I have to start this 100+ hour long game all over. Thankfully it’s great so I will get there eventually but I have no motivation right now to restart. Some day though.
Being a trophyhunter (134 platinums and +10.000 trophies) I agree with Rob most wholeheartedly. I could tell so many stories, fun and miserable. However one stage is missing "The Panic Sets in" when for some reason or another a trophy is glitched. Many people can relate to this, you did everything right and suddenly it doesn't pop. Most of the times some small group has the same problem and sometimes it's patched. Other times it means starting all over..again..losing everything you just worked for. And sometimes it's the final ending. Luckily my "Trophy fever" has calmed down the last years, but it still brings a big smile when that platinum trophy pops.
You get a like for Cait Sith devastation and Sora breakdown. Besides the fact that most of this is true...lol stay strong Rob and the team, happy gaming and good luck!
Personally I've been through all stages 5 times, and it was worth it for all the games I did it on. 1) Infamous: Second Son, 2) God of War (2018), 3) Control, 4) Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, 5) Assassin's Creed 2 Also I'm currently on the stage 6 for Skyrim, only 2 trophies left. The one mentioned in the video and the get your bounty to 2500 gold in each hold trophy.
Missable trophies are the reason I never start playing a game that im going to platinum completely blind Heck i even read a whole guide online before even downloading the game. I might get spoiled but its worth the time that i save.
i always go through blind first play through is always the enjoyment then see whats left and whats needed, if its a miss able try that on the second on ones that need, or the clean up
I agree, missable trophies are a pain to deal with but you can follow a guide step by step instead of reading/watching everything before hand to not get any spoilers, I do that with jrpgs.
One thing, Stage Eight: The Climb Down. This stage is when you’ve done it, you’ve got your platinum and you begin the walk back down remembering the things that got you good, the things that made you throw controller across the room, the things that made you whooped for joy, and then you reach the bottom Platinum in hand.
My dad has just recently succumbed to psychosis, brought on by Parkinson's disease. I've always watched your Friday Features, Rob, but the 10 minute respite they offer is more appreciated than ever. Thank You.
Hollow Knight.. took me 6 or 7 months to finally beat Absolute Radiance and get the plat.. it got to the point where I could get through the entire Pantheon of Hollownest without a single hit, until AbsRad.. beat me into submission for months.. then, finally, boom; nailed.. I literally couldn't believe it.. you also forgot, Rob, the last stage: a kind of grief that comes over you after you realize that you're completely finished with a great game and have to move on.. love Playstation Access, never change guys..
This video summarized my personal drama in my Platinum quest of Final Fantasy VII Remake. When I encountered Pride and Joy and he whooped me and when I encountered Hell House on Hard, I was thinking about giving up. However, I persisted and yesterday I got my dear trophy, finishing this long journey that was 81 hours long.
Wow Rob,just wow. I care too much about how well written the content I consume is. And yours delivers that to me and then some. Well done man.outstanding work.
this video is really fun and useful. My husband just got the Astro's Playroom Platinum on Sunday. It was super fun to watch him play all the way through that it made me want to go for my first ever platinum in Bugsnax. So far I'm doing ok though i can already tell some of the trophies are going to give me some moral problems. It feels wrong to feed Gramble a Bugsnak, since to him they are all his kin, and I can only imagine what his reaction is going to be....
I was on stage 6... taking a break from attempting to get the final trophy I needed for Shadow of Mordor, my white whale for this game was called "The White Rider"... but after I watched this I decided to give it another go, in just a couple of attempts (looked up a guide), I was finally triumphant, and finally earned my first PLATINUM!
dont forget during stage 6 that annoying " online friend" that has done it and tells you its not THAT difficult "when you know what to do" . I ve buried him in my garden...
True to everything you just described. I am one trophy away from platinum in PES 2019. And two trophies for Batman Arkham Knight but I need a break from them. It is just too much. Maybe in some weeks I'll come back to finish the job.
Stage 8: get the platinum for a game on ps3, then they do a remastered version on ps4 and you think 'hmm I really liked that game, let's do it all again'.
I have all the Dark Souls trophies for PS4. Was considering doing it for the PS3 versions because they weren’t THAT hard (especially DS1). I would never ever do it again for DS3 though. Glad it’s not on PS3
This video made me check my trophies...how the hell did I reach 27 Platinums?! I remember like 7? Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2 & 3 Remake, Dragon's Dogma, Crash Team Racing, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Borderlands 3 (and not counting Telltale games)
I relate to this 100 percent because mhw in particular was bullshit when it came to the crown trophies. I didn’t end up plating the game due to that....sigh I just get mad thinking about it lool

My last platinum was FF VII R and I've been through all those stages, when I realised I missed a weapon, I was so upset! Then I realised that you could have replied each chapter separately after the end of the game... and then I was about to give up on the pull up trophy, and then I did it... and than I've spend 2 damn days on the Bahamut boss in hard mode, and after I was done with that all was on a downslope! And now I got it! And the pleasure of getting that platinum, give me the mad idea to go for the God of War platinum and that's the one I'm playing now!
My favorite platinums that I have are for the entire Sly Cooper series. Not because they’re difficult, but because I enjoyed the games enough that I didn’t get burned out on the games like I do for most other games I try to platinum.
Go to any trophy leaderboard ranking website and you'll find huge lists of psn accounts with several hundred platinums, some have over 1,000. I'd never be able to get that many in 3 or 4 lifetimes!
Thank you Rob. Watching this I checked my trophies and I was one trophy away from 100% bloodborne. After 4 years I didn’t realise I was so close so I just played it for 4 hours now and just got my first ever platinum. Wow. I’ll be tired tomorrow with my 6yo daughter waking my in 5 hours (12.20am right now), but she will understand when she’s older lol. I’m so very tired but also calmly ecstatic because everyone is in bed. Wow. Thank you Rob for making my quarantine that little bit better.
After getting beat many times. I looked up. The best way to do it: is to mute all background music and voice sound. Use the sound effects as a rythym. So I did and it worked immediately, first try.
The last Trophy to my FFVII REMAKE's platinum: even the BAHAMUT (+IFRIT) fight and the Whispers bosses fights (che.18) in HARD DIFFICULTY were (a Little) less painful😥
NamelessJudge I’m doing this trophy and I feel you. I couldn’t find Sam in the game so I had to reload a earlier save meaning I was back at level 14 and now I have to find all of them again . Luckily I just have to do 7 more of them until I get back to my level 31 save

I'm 4 trophies away from my first platinum on Final Fantasy XV and I've signed my contract to get one on Final Fantasy VII Remake. Never really cared before until I realized I need to stop buying games and trying to get platinums delays the inevitable for a bit
In regards to #1: I noticed something about a certain trophy for Trail Of Cold Steel 2, there is a trophy for awakening at the Eisengard Range called "Unexpected Surroundings" and it has an acquisition percentage of 87%. Awakening at the Eisengard Range is literally the start of the game, it's a trophy basically for pressing "NEw Game", how does this have only 87%?
I played the Fallout 76 during the beta. I wish the game was better, because the trophy list isnt too daunting and I kind of want to Plat it minus the first trophy that I couldn't unlock during the beta 😂 which is essentially "start the game."
Mr. Futago a lot of people don’t even know what trophies are or mean and they never sync them. I have a friend who beat some pretty hard games and he only has like 5 bronzes or something like that
I got Shadow of the Colossus as my 5th plat and right now I'm on my way to win Hollow knight's for my 11th. All I need is to consistently beat the Radiance and win the 5th pantheon. Good luck dude.
I decided to platinum Final fantasy 7 Remake. The original was a hand me down along side a ps2 so it had sentimental value, I'm struggling with the pride and joy trophy. Bahamut casting megaflare is a one shot no matter what I do, raising defense and using barrier doesnt save my bacon.
There's a trophy in Final Fantasy VII Remake that requires you to do all possible sidequests in one playthrough to get a "letter from an angel." I wasn't aware of the trophy at first, but I did know I wanted to experience everything the game has to offer and eventually get that coveted Platinum. I did all those sidequests, I put in all the sweat and tears, and yet I didn't get the trophy. Why? Because the letter from the angel is placed inconspicuously on the ground in Chapter 14, not handed to you directly. It's smack dab in the middle of the path leading to the final segment, but I still missed it because I quick-traveled right behind it and forgot to turn the camera around before scampering off to Shinra HQ. Thanks to mucking up the timeline in my quest for other trophies, I now must do all the sidequests all over again before I'll get that letter from the angel. ...Gosh dang it. At least I'm Level 50 and Bahamut is mine, so the rest should be easier.
2 more chapters on hard mode in ff7r and this sweet platinum is mine after 90hours, actually way easier than i thought at first. MP-management was also not as bad as people describe it, switching out materias before fights (elemental+fire/ice/lightning/air), using MP-refill from chests, prayer materia and using spells wisely and you‘re on the safe side.
When you have to beat something that was made for the very best to get the trophy like being on the top of a ranked ladder or beating a game mode that's almost impossible to do unless you are literally a god.
In Killzone 2 there was a trophy for being in the top 1% of the weekly leaderboard. Unless you were willing to play for 16 hours a day for a whole week it was basically impossible.
First plat was Dishonored. Took me playing the game three times. Don’t regret it for a second. Such a good game. And I still cannot get the last trophy in Titanfall 2 where you need to finish “The Gauntlet” in the top 3.
I mean most games end up requiring two playthroughs anyway so I just end up playing the game how I want to sweeping any trophies I can get playing like me. Then on the second playthrough go through it with a walk through for a perfect run. Edit: I’ve gotten 90 platinums just so y’all know I’m not blowing wind
InsainRaven I’m usually am too lazy to play through a game again to get the platinum (unless it’s super short like cod modern warfare remake) so I only have 14
The only time I really ever wanted to get the platinum, was after I beat Skyrim my 1st time. I decided to take a stroll through the trophies I had already gotten and noticed I only lacked oblivion walker. A quick look online told me I only needed 3 more and I already had the quests for em. Hard to believe that was almost a decade ago.

It took me until the epilogue to realize I was never getting in so now I have to start this 100+ hour long game all over. Thankfully it’s great so I will get there eventually but I have no motivation right now to restart. Some day though.
Video idea: “7 things that always happen in a New Game +”
My only platinum is for bioshock I’ve literally lost count of times I’ve played it though the years but still proud
Masterpiece.
Funny, there a glitch that you can get the hardest trophy on easy mod on 1 and I got all 3 on the Bioshock Collection
@@JP_Crimson Including 1999 mode on Infinite? cuz thats a right ball ache.
You get a like for Cait Sith devastation and Sora breakdown. Besides the fact that most of this is true...lol stay strong Rob and the team, happy gaming and good luck!
Now that I've watched this, time to re-watch Dave winning his first Platinum!
Personally I've been through all stages 5 times, and it was worth it for all the games I did it on. 1) Infamous: Second Son, 2) God of War (2018), 3) Control, 4) Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, 5) Assassin's Creed 2
Also I'm currently on the stage 6 for Skyrim, only 2 trophies left. The one mentioned in the video and the get your bounty to 2500 gold in each hold trophy.
Missable trophies are the reason I never start playing a game that im going to platinum completely blind
Heck i even read a whole guide online before even downloading the game.
I might get spoiled but its worth the time that i save.
There is no shame in trophy guides. There are too many games and too little time to not use them.
i always go through blind first play through is always the enjoyment then see whats left and whats needed, if its a miss able try that on the second on ones that need, or the clean up
I agree, missable trophies are a pain to deal with but you can follow a guide step by step instead of reading/watching everything before hand to not get any spoilers, I do that with jrpgs.
Yeah but thats just no fun. Blind playthroughs determine whether you actually like the game and therefore, whether it is worth getting the trophy.
completely agree.

Stage Nine: You look at the game and say "I will never play you again"
Stage Ten: Years later you decide to Platinum again

Hollow Knight.. took me 6 or 7 months to finally beat Absolute Radiance and get the plat.. it got to the point where I could get through the entire Pantheon of Hollownest without a single hit, until AbsRad.. beat me into submission for months.. then, finally, boom; nailed.. I literally couldn't believe it.. you also forgot, Rob, the last stage: a kind of grief that comes over you after you realize that you're completely finished with a great game and have to move on.. love Playstation Access, never change guys..

*Me right now with FFVII Remake :/
This is fantastic. This sums my 6 year Final Fantasy XIII journey. I. CAME. BAAAAAACK!!!!

Me: Well, no platimun for me.
I have 7 Platinums, I'm not really proud thou cuz it's all tell tale 😅
Tee_Brick G weak lol 😂
7? 😂
My first platinum was for a Telltale game
@@loganphillips5471 same but thankfully spiderman ps4 came out and that game was pretty easy to platinum, currently working on ghost of tsushima next.

Wow Rob,just wow. I care too much about how well written the content I consume is. And yours delivers that to me and then some. Well done man.outstanding work.
Waited for this all week!
this video is really fun and useful.
That Irl platinum trophy at the end is gorgeous!
dont forget during stage 6 that annoying " online friend" that has done it and tells you its not THAT difficult "when you know what to do" . I ve buried him in my garden...
Im that guy for bloodborne
My 5 Platinums so far
- Kingdom Hearts
- Kingdom Hearts 2

True to everything you just described. I am one trophy away from platinum in PES 2019. And two trophies for Batman Arkham Knight but I need a break from them. It is just too much. Maybe in some weeks I'll come back to finish the job.
Stage 8: get the platinum for a game on ps3, then they do a remastered version on ps4 and you think 'hmm I really liked that game, let's do it all again'.
And do it on vr
I did that on ps3 and PS4 with Lego games
I have all the Dark Souls trophies for PS4. Was considering doing it for the PS3 versions because they weren’t THAT hard (especially DS1).
I would never ever do it again for DS3 though. Glad it’s not on PS3
This video made me check my trophies...how the hell did I reach 27 Platinums?!
I remember like 7? Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2 & 3 Remake, Dragon's Dogma, Crash Team Racing, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Borderlands 3 (and not counting Telltale games)
Step 1: If there's an luck based trophy, then it's gonna be hard earned platinum (Looking at you MHW Crowns)
I relate to this 100 percent because mhw in particular was bullshit when it came to the crown trophies. I didn’t end up plating the game due to that....sigh I just get mad thinking about it lool
I felt this on so many levels, still need two large crowns 😭😭😭
I am still working on that one capture pro took forever to get as well MHW is a great game but the platinum takes forever to get

This video goes deep into my soul and bring all the real stages I go through within all my plats nice one !!
Shoutouts to PowerPyx.
The go-to channel for trophy information.
That platinum trophy Dave has looks dope. I wants one
My favorite platinums that I have are for the entire Sly Cooper series. Not because they’re difficult, but because I enjoyed the games enough that I didn’t get burned out on the games like I do for most other games I try to platinum.
I have 33 Platinums. I literally feel every single one of these.
Nice!
Wow that is impressive, I thought I was doing well with 10 lol, and nearly half of those are Telltale games lol
Go to any trophy leaderboard ranking website and you'll find huge lists of psn accounts with several hundred platinums, some have over 1,000. I'd never be able to get that many in 3 or 4 lifetimes!
@@djholro Lol those some over 1000 are literally in the top 5% if not 1% of trophy hunters.
FF7 Remake: Peerless Pull Ups against Jules was torture
Amen, in the end I traded my friend for it. He took care of Jules for me and I took care of Hell House on Hard for him
That was the worst thing in the game I think it was fun at first lol after failed attempts it lost its fun factor
After getting beat many times. I looked up. The best way to do it: is to mute all background music and voice sound. Use the sound effects as a rythym. So I did and it worked immediately, first try.
Fighting Arsenal was easier than Jules.
The last Trophy to my FFVII REMAKE's platinum: even the BAHAMUT (+IFRIT) fight and the Whispers bosses fights (che.18) in HARD DIFFICULTY were (a Little) less painful😥
To be fair, if your first time saving in FFX is at the final save spot in the game then that is pretty impressive.

Currently three trophies away from platinuming Skyrim so am exited for this video!
Am at stage 3. Missed the "Oblivion Walker" trophy by just 2 artifacts and now I have to play another character to level 30
NamelessJudge I’m doing this trophy and I feel you. I couldn’t find Sam in the game so I had to reload a earlier save meaning I was back at level 14 and now I have to find all of them again . Luckily I just have to do 7 more of them until I get back to my level 31 save

For Crash Team Racing, I played through on easy and then again on medium (15-20hrs). Then, online for miscellaneous trophies (15-20hrs again). Afterward, played through on hard (10hrs). Then realised I had to beat 3 time trials on 32 different tracks. 35 hours later, I still have to do all of the crystal challenges. Hardest platinum I’ve ever done, but my proudest

@@Grimzilla32 for my platinum run I decided to try without a location guide and with the gwent difficulty on hard. That mindset did not last long.

One of the big reasons I don't have the Witcher 3 Plat was I missed a single Gwent card near beginning of the game. I know they added a new game plus mode, do you get to keep all your Gwent cards? I might jump back in and finish it.
😂😂😂literally grinding this trophy now
I'm currently working on my 26th platinum trophy. Just got nioh 1 after off and on play since launch.
Going for the Platinum is never easy, but it's so satisfying! Keep up the good work P.A. Team!
The most fun Platinums for me where, Infamous Second Son (first one ever for me), Horizom Zero Dawn, FF15 and my most recent one FF7: Remake.
It's sad how many people start a game and don't even start a "new game". Like they installed it, clicked on it then left it.
Mr. Futago a lot of people don’t even know what trophies are or mean and they never sync them. I have a friend who beat some pretty hard games and he only has like 5 bronzes or something like that
Trophies were rolled out while I was playing Fallout 3, so I have the trophies for the last chapters but not the early ones. Maybe that happened here?
I've finally gotten my 7th one!! And only need 2 trophies for Hollow Knight, and 5 for Shadow of the Colossus to get No. 8 and 9. Wish me luck!
I got Shadow of the Colossus as my 5th plat and right now I'm on my way to win Hollow knight's for my 11th. All I need is to consistently beat the Radiance and win the 5th pantheon. Good luck dude.
I'm trying to actually platinum a game for the first time and I cant seem to get a specific trophy and its frustrating me
Keep at it. You'll get it
How annoying is it when a trophy doesn't drop I've had that a few times now
What game and trophy? Go on PSNprofiles for guides.
You have to use Manawall to survive a Megaflare. It’s the third level spell on barrier. Even then Megaflare can do 5000ish damage.
Stage 8: Start it all again with the DLC trophies... Looking at you Witcher 3!
