This is smoking good!!!....mid 70s when C.D.B. cooked.
I saw CDB in the Charlotte Coliseum in the late '70s. The floor area was a standing crowd. About half way through the program a guy standing about twenty feet from the front center of the stage threw an empty, flat shaped pint liquor bottle at the stage. It could not have hit Charlie any closer to the center of his chest, just above his guitar. Instant quiet time, then Charlie points at the guy and tells security to "get that son-of-a-bitch". The crowd cleared from around the guy and he was instantly in the spot light getting cuffed. Good '70s memories. 😉

That is some of the best music I've ever heard. 1976 is my yesterday. I was lucky enough to meet Charlie a while before he passed. He was a gracious gentleman. The music was played on rock stations but it was an awesome mix of blues, rock and country. As he said, "You can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy."
I was there for that show. Kept looking for the high school version of me in the crowd, but were right behind the drums--the one angle they never showed!
What a Great time for the Music 🎵. Dig that Les Paul Standard. We have Blackberry Smoke carrying on the South side of Music. Duane and Greg are Missed. So many 🌄🐴🦌🏁
