One of my biggest worries is that I'm not able to give the emotional moments the weight they deserve, especially the more subtle moments of self-deprivation from Siffrin. Big explosions of emotions are a lot easier to convey, as seen in some parts of Act Two. It's a lot harder to get those really subtle emotions, the self-hatred laced in Siff's words as they smile and joke away their pain because they'd rather suffer alone than burden any of the friends they so sincerely treasure. It's a story that I've found really personally meaningful so far, so, it's hard to really find a way to present these ideas that I'm happy with. But, no matter how hard it is, I love trying to get it right. I'm thinking of writing a proper video on the game once I'm done with it, just because I have so much to say about how clever the game is with using its mechanics to help tell the narrative. It's genuinely already my favorite game of the year, and I'm just starting Act Three in like... three hours from the time I post this comment. I'd love to see you there, if you want! No pressure at all, if it's just a scheduling thing or even just that you don't like Twitch. You just seem like you're really passionate about the game, and I think it'd be nice to have someone like that in chat! I adore this game, and I want to give it the best effort I can. @@KirbsVOD i think that worry is just an indication of how strong the writing is in this game and how strongly you personally feel about it and that's not a bad thing, but i think anybody who is doing their best is doing a great job! and even without that i think you're doing amazing! i'm really so glad it's meant so much for you, especially since it's meant so much to me as well! and i would love to see a video about it, i've already seen some great video essays on the subject (boy i didn't know ludonarrative harmony was a thing prior to this game, but apparently so!) and i'd enjoy seeing more! it's definitely my favorite game of the year too--and you'd fit right in in the official discord since that's a common sentiment there as well haha. It’s simplistic, but I LOVE this worlds magic system, or “Craft”, and it’s got so much in world lore that isn’t relevant to the fight gameplay, but makes it so fleshed out. I love it.
there’s also lore for it that _does_ correlate with the battle system! like, for example: the reason craft skills have a cooldown duration is because if someone uses a ton of craft skills in a row, it’ll have adverse effects on the user, such as exhaustion, fever, and (potentially? i don’t think this last one is elaborated on in-game) even death.

It is!! I highly recommend playing it for yourself, as the format of a Let's Play really can take away from how raw and emotionally resonant the game can really be. I've only just beaten Act Two, so I can't speak for the game as a whole, but I've loved every second that I've played so far! Thank you for the support, it means a lot to me!
