Back to the past: Saba Island, 2019! More previously unedited footage from our 2019 Caribbean season. There will be several more to come every Friday over the next few weeks, as we steadily cruise the rest of the Leewards, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Dominican and Turks & Caicos.
Now that I reconsider your comment, I feel a little insulted, Peter. Yes, I was talking goat to the goats, but the "hopping" was clearly a horse immitation, how could you mistake it?? :)
Yes it certainly was! There was one yacht moored there and it was pitching around like crazy .... unfortunatly we were going so fast that I didnt get the camera out in time to record it. We would not have been able to get the dinghy in the water safely without risking huge stresses on the davits. Even if we could had sailed got there and got the dinghy in, I'm pretty sure Oana would have gotten into the dinghy in those conditions!
Now every channel take note. This is how you make a real sailing you tube channel. I don't care about Susie's big bottom or Tom has a big shackle. Keep it real and the the rest of us will appreciate a hole lot more.
Hmmm but I always thought it was MY bottom that attracted all the viewers? no? Thanks for the compliment Eric. They seem "real" because we make them as our memories, not as money-making entertainment. THe next few weeks they will get better and better ... I think. Some of our best footage to come, from Anguilla onwards.
It’s lovely to be watching your films again. You mentioned you were fitting out shortly and I’m wondering if you will you be sailing the Caribbean during the hurricane season? I have friends who’ve done it!
Matt, I'm going back to the boat in 2 weeks time to check her over and do some more maintenance. We had considered sailing over the summer, but I'm pretty sure we will stick to our plan of leaving again end of hurricane season and heading south.
Matt, I think you must have editied this comment because last evening I thought it mentioned Bahamas? Just in case you didnt already see, we did cruise the Bahamas a year later, in early 2020. There are about 12 videos of that on our channel. We were a bit challenged with our draft thre, but we did manage to get everywhere we wanted to, even if we did depart with a nicely polished keel!
Thank you for sharing this beautifully edited video! That was probably one of the best travel documentaries on Saba, I have seen so far.
Wow, thank you, Gregor.
Thank you for taking me on your adventure. Great video
Glad you enjoyed it. More to come, and better I think, in the coming weeks

Wonderful news! Now I have something to look forward to on Fridays.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
2:33 Oana looking beautiful at the bar as always! Stunning diving, thanks for sharing. I wonder if there is any skiing in the Dutch mountains...
Yep ... spot on :) We id dthink the temperature dropped by maybe 0.6DegC up there ..... could be skiing!
Difficult to reach but very beautiful island, thank you
It really was interesting. Some how not the usual Caribbean island.
Dude, you're such a crack up! Hopping and screaming like a goat... Diving vid spectacular.
Peter, yes ... its all down to the pills Oana forces me to take.
You should see me when I don't take them!

That underwater.. WOW!
Yeah ... it was indeed pretty nice down there.
So glad to see more videos! Love your channel. Thanks so much!
You are so welcome! These last 3 have not been very good in our opinion .... but the next few coming are among our best!
@@SailCloudyBay Looking forward to seeing them!
Stunning as usual ! I really like the sound track i have got so used to it, it fits perfectly.
Happy to hear that Richard .... we were just now discussing if it could be getting a little "old".
@@SailCloudyBay not for me Glen, it works. Cant wait to see you splash again.
@@richardsimpson2599 Us neither!
☀️ or no ☀️, it ➡️ ALL ⬅️ was colorful 💖 Enen the sea turtle seem to be flying!
Thanks Steven, just the colours came out pretty good in the end, considering no sun not artificial light.
I have done those hikes! That is a lot in one day. You must have slept well
Yes Susan, it was quite a hike for sure. But really beautiful scenery and trail. Best we have been on in the Caribbean.
Beautiful underwater shots! A wise call to ferry out to Saba, that anchorage did not seem inviting :)

That was an amazing place; a mountain in the sea. All the fish seemed to be posing for the tourists to take pictures, even the barracuda.
Louis, yes that seems to be the case where there is a marine nation park .... the sea life shows no fear.

WOW. did either dive require mixed air (nox)?
I think we dived with nitrox ..... we'd just been certified in Eustatia, so I'm sure we must have chosen Nox.
Three days at anchor....? how did you organize the absence?
We had a friend anchored nearby who kept an eye on Cloudy Bay for us. Rob, fro mthe trimaran I was sailing on in the last episode.
Landing in Saba is extremely stressful. 😬
We were really hoping to experience that landing and take off ... but the flight was crazy expensive for what it was.
Why are ferry seats the most uncomfortable of any form of public transport?
Yeah ... they really were. And not much to hold onto as we were rinsed in the washing machine!

@@SailCloudyBay yes I deleted the comments about the Bahamas after realising you had already taken Cloudy Bay there!
The “A ugly boat” comment 🤣 spot on
Opps sory ... had to be said. Interesting it is .... pretty it is not!
My God was that a shark 🦈 swimming near you 😳
Its OK Ali, ... I can swim faster than Oana :)
