Man, early 2000s animé clubs were really something. My college animé club was slightly better since I found a lot of my favorites from there even if I didn't watch every episode from every show that played there.
Naruto was already out when this video was made But I think you mean kids who grew up on naruto Anime fans back then where probably into more niche shit since anime want super mainstream around this time except for pokemon and dragon ball
It's insane how different parts of the US were culturally right up to this point. This would have been unthinkable where I grew up until '03. I tried vigorously to get multiple groups of friends to simply bring Magic cards to school and they were, to a man, terrified of doing so.
that's my grad year... anime was SO not cool back then i went to anime expo '03, and only a couple of us from high school went, let alone knew about it

Believe it or not with so many high schools out there there is a chance some have students who synergize well across all "social" groups. Maybe they're not in the club but it looks like in this high school the jocks get along pretty well with the nerds.
@@aileexquis3206 It used to be NORMAL for a teenager to look that way. They were actually more properly developed back then. Maybe you missed my point.
in 2004 we had better anime. not this bs we have now a days. the dubbing was shit, everything was either 26 episodes or around 200, and most of the time we had to watch ova's. then goku turned ssj on toonami and that shit went to the moon.
I used to buy the Uncut DBZ on VHS... $20 for 3-4 episodes per tape. I had probably 3/4s of the entire series. That was soooo many tapes. Also had the whole Tenchi Muyo & Tenchi Universe OVAs... Man I wasted so much money between the ages of 15-18
The same season of 1995 that Ghost in the Shell, NGE, and Golden Boy came out also gave us such unforgettable classics as Galaxy Fraulein Yuna, Hyper Dolls, Idol Project, Sorcerer Hunters, and Elf Princess Rane. Even shit that was actually popular like Chobits, Love Hina, or Fushigi Yugi gets forgotten but something tells me Megalobox Nomad and Odd Taxi will fare better.
I feel like I just opened a time capsule.
17 years old capsule

this comment made me sit up straight lmao
2004-05 was a pretty good year for anime tbh. School Rumble, Midori Days, Gantz, Bleach, and even Samurai Champloo.
Wild to see Midori Days listen nonchalantly but Samurai Champloo prefaced with an even.
I miss school rumble
yaa bleach
0:48 This aged like fine wine
If time travel were possible, this would be the paradise to travel back to.
I have no clue how I ended up here, but this is gold. 2004 was my graduating class and it feels like just yesterday.
Needs more puka shell necklaces.
Hell yeah 😁
when i have children, i am moving to Centennial so that my offspring may join this illustrious club.
I waited 17 long years for this

Bruh, the way I HOWLED when Click Click Boom started playing 😭😂
Thank you r/Chadtopia for discovering this gem.
Someone on cringe thought I should cross post. I came across it in a discord. I don’t know how my guy discovered it.
what did i just stumble across
Normal people? No $20 cosplay? No over-enthusiasm over virtual girls? Hey, these guys look ok!
Back when there was literally only a single anime con per year and everything was focused on that con
Man, this is incredible.
I just graduated from this school and idk about the anime club but I know the kpop club is alive and well

The fact that most of these guys might be parents now…
This was glorious. lol I'm having literal flashbacks to my own time in an Anime club at my high school
Where are they now?
they all prob have kids by now
I was expecting cringe, but this is actually funny. God bless these people.
I've been trying to find this video for years
This has broadcast class written all over it
Oh you know it
I fucking LOVE this.

This is actually really funny.
You guys killed it, great commercial.

Anime fans in 2004: Anime is epic
chad shit
Me as a weeb today: Anime is cool
I hope this goes viral and allot of people find this timecapsule
Pokemon = Anime
And that's all.
As a current vice president of an anime club in my high school, this is pretty funny 😅
This is amazing.
anime is cartoons from japan where exetreme storylines rhat cant be filmed
getting storyline accross with
out the need for live action people
I wanna go back
Yeah, uh pretty much exactly what it was like
This was my school and grad year and i dint even know this existed lol
Wow Pokémon was really a trending anime back in the 2000s.
Ngl, Pokemon was probably the biggest anime in America in 2004 💀
This is fucking amaziiiiing

im a sophomore rn should I make an anime club at my highschool?
Yes.

Nope
Absolutely not as someone who attended this high-school i can tell you they are most likely making fun of anime club. Centennial was awful.
Nah
2004 was graduating year - this level of cringe didnt exist in my highschool, or if it did - they were smart enough not to make a 'commercial' for it
Fucking siiiiccckkkk
This is too intense for me. Going back to looney tunes
so its a pokemon club... not an anime club
Hey there was about 3 seconds of Princess Mononoke in there too
All the AV kids joking about it knew about anime was Pokmon
Ok, most of those people don't look weird, obviously a parody 🤣
No
This is before there was enough of a sustained culture to have weebs going from con to con. So they hung with the emos and shit
I refuse to believe there are people who didn't realize this isn't parody in a matter of seconds
The only anime fans I respect, anime fans are way too much now.
Wtf 😂😂😂😂😂👌
Yeeeeeeep, totally mid 2000s

I would give this a D- if it was made for a class. He put almost zero effort into it besides splicing a Pokemon clip.
