I bought a P-Bass kit for my teenage granddaughter that has NO instructions included. So thank you Gregor. Now she can follow your video and build it herself with minimal help from me!
I built a slab kit bass a while a go (no pickup routes on the body). And while it took me a while to finish it, now it's one of the best sounding basses I own and I learned a tonne about setting up my own instruments in the process. I can definitely recommend people to try building a kit bass.
That bass turned out great. could have done something to the headstock Thomann really should label the screws. i used the backplate screws for the pickup casings, because they just looked right :D
I rebuilt an amp. When it started falling apart I took duct tape to hold it together. But it's ugly best of my memory. Then just covered it in stickers, mostly music equipment brands or race car stuff.
Mounting a bridge on a sticker is not much different than mounting it on a base of lacquer or paint. As long as the screws bind tightly into the wood of the body there's no issues at all.
for those who are wondering what Taskmaster is: ua-cam.com/video/6obm_UIifpY/v-deo.html
This video was great. The bass just got sexier and sexier as it was getting assembled. Cheers man
Taskmaster? You mean the best show ever made? Yeah, that one

Gotta love Elmo! The bass turned out so amazing, gotta love these stickers! Can't wait to hear you playing it!
Those stickers make it look so punky, it would be perfect for Mark Hoppus
WOW, awesome sticker bass guitar.... saugeil gemacht!!!
TOPTIP use candlewax on the screws as a lube it helps them not bind too tight in the wood and then shear which cheap screws can easily do
"Safety instructions, let's skip that" - This is why I subscribe.
The stickers look cool. You should have made a matching headstock 😉
working on it!
It looks great..those stickers are cool...but I don't believe the part about the kids...lol😉🙏😆🍀🌹💜
I have assembled a few bass kits and suggest it to bass and guitar lovers. It is very enjoyable.
MATCHING STICKER HEADSTOCK!

Could do with some stickers on the headstock
6 string bass t-shirts,please?
Looks like a cool project here, thanks!
I got the P bass kit as a birthday present, it's really great!
Very nice! Good to see our competition! ;)

Why didn´t you match the Headstock also with Stickers?
Should have done the shielding before installing the pickups and preamp
Taskmaster reference got me!
What about varnish ? is that something you can recommend..best regards
Absolutely. That works too
the headstock needs stickers!!!!!!
Looks awesome with all those stickers!! Please do a proper sound demo!
Awesome
I must admit, this makes me want to try making a kit bass. Cheers from the Northernmost reaches of coastal California.
Great !!
Very nice! But you should lay your work on a nice soft towel when assembling, or soft surface.
Better than Lego! ...and cheaper.
VERY NICE
Magnificent ! Where did you find your stickers?
I rebuilt an amp. When it started falling apart I took duct tape to hold it together. But it's ugly best of my memory. Then just covered it in stickers, mostly music equipment brands or race car stuff.
Do the stickers somehow affect the final sound, like the woods vibrating differently or not letting the woods breathe, etc?
No.
It depends on how much glue the stickers have. If it has more than 0.0025 grams per square millimeter it will make the bass sound very bassy.
@@backandfour you are wrong you are using that perspective like some guys do about pickguard
if it does it is basically inaudible. how would stickers affect the sound if paint doesn't?
@@ursamajor4684 I basically thought that way, too, but there are so many myths about how to get the best woods… 😃
Where do you get so many different stickers?
Amazon ;)
Do not use power screwdriver!!!! You must feel the amount of torque when driving the screw!!!!!!
Nice. I will make and patent bass with 3 strings. G string nobody doesnt need, my bass will have E A D
Should come with 3 E strings, since its an E bass, right?
Nice. But maybe mounting bridge on stikers is not the best idea. But whatever :-)

The cheapest way is to steal one.
its called bushing
So punk!!!
Haaa
No demo what a let down 🥲
No , let’s not build a bass that screams “I’d rather posture than practice “
What a awfull headstock! 🤢
you're supposed to carve it, that's why there is way too much material on it.
@@champ6436 thanks for your explanation. 👍🏻
