Do both serums have gallic acid? Or is it only in the ordinary serum? I couldn't figure it out?
It’s embarrassing how much time I spend educating myself with your videos. 🤓☺️
Lol, same!!! 😂
Nahh not embarrassing!
Same here😂
Same I love her lol!
Me too, watching again already
this is one of your best videos Kelly! Congrats 🎉❤❤
Really love this format of videos Kelly, you always pick perfect products to compare👌💗
Grat Video, lots of exciting launches lately so thank you for explaining everything so clearly ❤
The best skin care channel👌🌟
I’ve been waiting for this Vitamin C comparison! ❤
I recently saw the BOJ product and it peaked me curiosity…and then as always you read my mind and reviewed it! I have always been afraid of vitamin C and have never tried it. However, I love all BOJ products and the fact that it doesn’t have niacinamide really makes me want to give it a go! Now I just have to fine a place in my routine to put it 😂🤦♀️ Thanks Kelly!
Thanks for the thorough comparison of the Niod/Ordinary serums. You always answer all my questions.
Thank you SOO much for this, I couldn’t decide which barrier serum was worth it during Deciem’s November sale so your video couldn’t have come at a more perfect time!!
These THIS OR THAT videos are soooo valuable! Kelly, thank you❤
You are so welcome!❤️
Kelly I love how thorough and in depth your videos are. Plus you're amazing at communicating complex information in a very clear way. I've been a fan of your content for years and you've been key in helping me build a skincare routine that really works for me. Thank you! 🙏
Just at the right time Kelly as always. Thinking about either of the vitamin c serums. Can’t wait to see hear your thoughts 😊❤
I like your approach in the videos, always open to different brands. I would love to see a video for teens skin care.
I love these videos! You do such a wonderful job. 🎉
Thank you, so happy to know you enjoy them! ❤
I couldn't help but gasp when you chose the Beauty of Joseon one, lol! 🤣 And yes, because you did a whole video of the Klairs. Good thing too because Beauty of Joseon is much more affordable. 💞
The price is the biggest factor, no idea why Klairs is $40!
Excellent, I was hoping it would be BOJ vitamin c as I’ve really fancied trying that. 49 year old male skin and you always get it spot on with your recommendations for me.
Thank you, this was very enlightening. I learned more about the ingredients in these products than I had anywhere else. I have mature skin on the dry side and I struggle with rosacea so I am always trying to fortify my moisture barrier and reduce inflammation. I will try the new product from The Ordinary and probably add the NIOD Modulating Glucosides to my arsenal. I am waiting impatiently for my order containing the BOJ 3-0 vitamin C product because pure ascorbic acid irritates my skin and continued use begins to damage my moisture barrier.
Thanks Kelly so helpful!
I love skincare so much and I'm listening carefully. That said, my eyes are drawn to your make-up! your make-up today is so gorgeous!!
Aww thank you so much! Embracing those fall colors! 🍁
Great video!..interested in both ordinary & boj new products👏
Oh, I got the Modulating Glucosides a couple months ago because I was having a flare of irritation on my neck (burning stinging and itching), but it did not do much for me actually 😕 I think that was an allergic reaction, so maybe the product cannot help on this case, more like when you just have an impaired skin barrier?
Anyway, I was thinking to try next the new Ordinary one, but it did cross my mind if it was maybe the same thing. Thanks for comparing the two, perfect timing 😊
I like the new pink serum from The Ordinary.
I ordered this serum from boj the first hour it appeared on the website😅 it's fucking incredible! my skin is delighted and looks great. I was so worried that there is only 10% vitamin C, but they do their job much better than all other C-products. I buy a lot of Korean cosmetics, but boj always beats them.
I just bought Beauty of Josen Vitamin C serum and it did not irritate my skin on the first try and it leaves my skin glowing and it’s lightweight with fast application. Never had a reaction with vitamin c like this, I stopped wearing vitamin c because my skin could not tolerate it. So I’m so happy that this serum didn’t irritate me.
I would love to to see a giant this or that battle of the Kolmar sunscreens!
Just ordered the Joseon Vitamin C serum wanting to try a c-derivative. On my resilient skin things sometimes take a little while to register but a bit of c, derivative or not, is always a good thing I think.
Do you have a review of the Torriden Balanceful line? Curious about that cleanser and serum.
Also, (commented on your other videos too where you used Nars 😊) you should try the new Youthforia foundation at ulta which is supposed to be healthy for the skin. Really interesting Korean foundation.
Hi Kelly, have you tried any of the Chemist Confessions products? Mr Reliable is personally my favourite 😊
Love the pure soothing vibes that is present in all of your videos too, you’d be in your bag narrating audiobooks ngl!
OMG I harbor a secret dream to narrate an audiobook one day! 😅
You are reading my mind Kelly, I have just finished the original version of Klairs vitamin C serum and is looking at a long term alternative. Totally Agreed with you on the price and texture on Klairs. I’m currently trialling Skin1004 Brightening Serum:, wondering how that compares to this BOJ serum . 🧐
Hi Kelly, I would love to see a comparesent between Haruharu bakuchiol eyecream vs Skin1004 Probiotic bakuchiol eyecream.
Thanks for these videos very usefull😊
I might pick up both of those serums during the November sale. My skin is usually pretty calm, but at times I find that tretinoin still irritates me, so it might be good to use one of the serums a few times a week
Will you do a video on gallic acid products? This ingredient intrigues me because i deal with a lot of redness.
Please review the cocokind chlorophyll discoloration serum
I love the modulating glucosides however I cannot use it multiple days in a row or else I get minor clogged whiteheads/little zits. I’m guessing it’s the coconut oil. I will have to try the ordinary one .
Yay I was waiting for this video… we can always count on Kelly 😍will definitely be picking up the new ordinary one in the slowvember sale. I wonder if the Niod MG had a sneaky formula change because my last bottle smelt peppery/ musty and stung a little 🤷♀️
I haven't noticed any changes in ingredients for Niod in the last couple of months.
@@KellyDriscoll I bought 2 bottle last November from Deciem, that’s when I noticed the change, however I was able to use them up on my neck and chest. They may not have had a formulation change and might be just me that was sensitive to it, unfortunately that happens a lot with me.
Hi I had a problem with the MG I bought last November too. I had used this serum many times before and there was no indication of formula change, however my bright red face let me know there had been. I had to give it away as it was unusable for me. I have both rosacea and eczema with highly reactive skin and a similar thing happened to me a few years ago with the cosrx 96 snail essence - used regularly for years and a sneaky formula change made it unusable a couple of years ago. This tbh puts me off trying the new ordinary version, as it's likely the same formulator and a similar preservative system etc. It also has a lot of the same ingredients and I'm unsure what changed in the Niod to cause such irritation.
@@lorainemcgillivray77 hi Loraine, I just checked the deciem site for the Niod MG and if you go to the ingredients list at the bottom of that list it says our formulations are updated from time to time as part of our commitment to innovation so our ingredients here may not match what’s on your box depending on time and region. So I’d say there was a change then, especially if you noticed too. Also sometimes I’ve used products for years and then all of a sudden my skin just can’t tolerate anymore. With our skin we have to be so careful and that’s why I’m grateful to you for reminding me to always patch test everything one by one and that way we can find the culprit that irritating our skin. Every product that’s been reformulated my skin hates now.
@@monicaduncan7109 Drives me mental lol when they reformulate without telling anyone lol. A few things that have worked for me lately are:
Jin jung sung essence and omega essence/serum - both fab.
Zelens brand (shiso balm, sprays, vitamin e serum and regenerative mask) - spendy but found in tk maxx and all have worked for me.
Mary and May idebenone cream essence, centella serum and collagen serum - unlike the Dr Ceuracle I had a horrible reaction to, the Mary and May biphase essence is really nice.
BofJ ginzing essence water - nice enough and no irritation.
Honest beauty calm moisturiser
Skin1004 cica probio moisturiser - nice for the Summer
hope that helps.x
Hi kelly l like the videos look so nice 😊 xx
I would love to see a this or that for the purito deramide balm VS the deramide sleeping pack!! I have dryyy dehydrated + acne prone skin and I can’t figure out which one to go for without being able to feel the texture in person. Even without a video would love to hear your thoughts !
Have you seen this video ua-cam.com/video/C0XvKGa7nQM/v-deo.html I compare the cream, balm and sleeping pack and talk through the benefits. I would suggest starting with the cream and if you need more adding either the sleeping pack or balm (balm is more like slugging with an occlusive and sleeping pack is a cream based pack). Hope this helps!
I'm very excited about the barrier serum from the Ordinary! My skin reacted badly to the NIODserum. It was such a dissapointment for me, because i really needed something that soothes my irritated skin. I love the idea of a creamy serum. Hopefully i find the perfect one soon. Thank you for this suggestion!
The By Wishtrend Cera Barrier Soothing Ampoule is so good. I love the texture. It's creamy but not heavy. It's not sticky or tacky whatsoever. I can even use it under makeup with no issues.
@@paulayarbrough6930 I wanted to try that one, but sadly it has the ingredient Butylene Glycol high up on the list. My skin cant handle that at all:(
@paulayarbrough6930 this is a great alternative suggestion!
regarding BoJ, i have their sunscreen and skin1004 hyalu-cica (blue one) sunscreen, and they are very similar ingredients-wise! i think it would be ineresting to compare them next
Idk if it’s true but apparently there is an ingredient in the ordinary serum which is toxic to dogs even in small amounts (xylitol) and since my dog licks my face I am hesitant. Love your channel! You have changed my life! ❤❤
I got the boj light on serum for CA$14.00, as my cousin would say, "a steal of a deal"
My skin is on the dry side but healthy. Do you think one needs a calming serum if their skin is never inflamed or compromised?
How do you think the ordinary and noid serems compare to the Stradia Liquid Gold?
I wonder how TO serum compares to Stratia liquid gold!
Do u suggest me to buy boj vitamin c serum or not i am bit sceptical to buy this particular product i keep on watching your's videos that the reason i need you's suggestions plz help me
Hi Kelly, you are a gem. Another phenomenal video. I learn so much from you. Thank you!
Between the 2 barrier support serums, which one would you recommend for post-shave irritation, such as redness and razor bumps? I’m a 49 year old male with combination skin that can be sensitive but not ultra sensitive. Or is there another calming serum that you would recommend even more for post-shave irritation? I really value your advice and feedback, and hope to hear back from you. Thank you! 🙏🏼❤️
I think you'll be good with The Ordinary, it has a lot of anti-inflammation and redness reducing ingredients!
@@KellyDriscoll Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I truly appreciate you and your guidance. Have a wonderful day. 🙏🏼
Hi can u please help me in deciding products, I'm accutane low dose daily for acne my acne is gone just few whiteheads here and there i use adaplene in alternate days, i wanna use a serum or product that can help with my pih scarring etc and brighten by complexion, i have 2 products boj vit c and axis y discoloration correcting serum, which one u recommend in my case?
I have so much hope tor BoJ Light on serum, can't wait for my order to come
Did it do anything??
@@AdritaDas02 unfortunately it didnt do anything to my acne scars but it's moisturizing and not irritating compared to vit. c
How do you like The Ordinary Amino Acid + B5?
Yes!!!! 🤍🤍🤍
Thanks!
Thank you so much, Shari! ❤ glad you enjoyed this one!
The ordinary soothing ..How does it smell ? Mine kind off smell like azealic acid and gave me some itch on my irritated skin when it supposed to stop the itch is that normal ? How it smells like ?
The beauty of joseon light on serum looks amazing until I found polyglyceryl-10 myristate in the ingredients list. A bit scared to try because of that 😢
How do you think the 2 decium products compare to the recently discontinued hylamide sensitive fix serum which was under decium?
I'm sorry I never tested the Hylamide serum (They D/C it before I could) so unfortunately I can't offer any insight.
Could you please review The ordinary Pycnogenol 5% ? I’ve heard that it’s a potent antioxydant that gives you overnight results in terms of glow and hydration and I would love to hear your take on it 🥰
I've actually covered it a lot over the years, most recently in my fall serums video 2 weeks ago!
@@KellyDriscoll you’re the best !
I've noticed so many barrier serum, including the ordinary one, contains niacinamide. Unfortunately, it irritates my skin. Do you have any recommendations for niacinamide free barrier serum?
The Modulating Glucosides serum in this video is barrier supportive and doesn't contain niacinamide. Paula's choice Omega + Complex serum is another option.
did you get results after using boj vit c serum
Yes it works to brighten the skin, same as klairs but less expensive!
Can the soothing barrier serum go together woth Joseon's vit c? Since a lot of products cant go together with vit c. I recently got the joseon's vit c and was already used the soothing barrier so I was wondering.
Yes there is no reason you can't combine them!
@@KellyDriscoll Thank you! ❤️
Tried so many times with pure vitamin c just can't handle it. Not worth the irritation.
Didn’t deciem sell the ordinary to Estée Lauder ? Or are they still considered the parent company?
Estee lauder owns like 76% of Deciem, but The Ordinary and Niod still fall under Deciem. Hope that makes sense!
🐝
I wish The Ordinary Barrier Support Serum didnt contain benzyl alcohol especially since the product is supposed to be soothing. I have sensitive skin so I am weary of this ingredient.
Why are you wary of it? It's a gentle preservative and used in very small amounts in skincare, it poses little risk of irritation when formulated properly.
I'm having the same problem. My skin often reacts to ingredients and products that are supposedly safe and calming. It makes everything so difficult to find something that really helps:(
Why don't you compare the Ordinary barrier support with the stratia lipid gold. It's obvious that the Niod product is going to be better.
NIOD Modulating Glucoside serum made my redness prone skin even more red and irritated...
Glucosides- why this new pronunciation? 😊
