I have definitely never used a facial cleanser on my babies. When they’re newborns you want to stay away from pretty much all products as their skin literally needs to adjust to just being in air. But later on a simple all-over baby wash in their bath is good. Lately I’ve seen ads for a new line of kids’ products to “help your child develop their own skin care routine.” Unnecessary! Sunscreen is really the only skincare kids need imo.
@@Beeleeteecee babys skin is not (always) perfect. Mine has acne, dry patches, seborrheic dermatitis and they can have lots of other things. But as long as your baby is happy and it doesnt cause them discomfort is fine
It's nice to see an established brand (especially an affordable one like The Ordinary) putting out new products that are actually good and new (not just slightly reformulated old items in new packaging).
so true. I went in to Ulta a while back and saw what I thought was a new peptide serum, grabbed it and when I got home found out that I just purchased something that I already have. Buffet with a new name. oh well..I'm using it now. I would really like to have the money back to buy the new NMF/beta glucan or the foaming glucoside cleanser. I wish they would give out samples of the newer products.
I'm so glad the ordinary released these. It's nice to have a simple, effective, inexpensive, cruelty-free alternative to CeraVe and Cetaphil for cleansing and moisturizing
Love the ordinary! Figured out a routine together with the staff here in Amsterdam: I'm wrinkle free and radiant at 45 for 100 euro's per 3 months. Simple, effective, affordable; they've never been a fad to me, never understood how people could see them as such. Hope they keep up this brilliant work, loyal customer for life until someone offers the same scientific quality for even less.

The Ordinary is my main non-Korean brand, so I've never stopped loving most of their products, but they really have been knocking it out of the park lately. I just picked up a new tube of the iUNIK beta glucan moisturizer; maybe I'll have to get TO's as well and compare the two.
@@grrbarking the Beauty of Joseon probiotic sunscreen is my favorite Korean one, but my top one in general is the mermaid UV gel by the Japanese brand Canmake.
@@g4uzysorry , maybe is too late for this answer but anyway I will say no for oily skin, because I have very, very dry skin and for me its great but it's going to be too much for oily skin... greetings from Greece ❤
To answer the baby question: Whole baby - maybe once or twice a week plus diaper blow outs, what's inside the diaper preferably after every poop, rinsing with lukewarm water and washing by hand with a gentle cleanser is better for the skin and babies usually tolerate it better than wipes (seriously why do we snub facial wipes because they don't clean well and irritate the skin and then use it for the most delicate part of baby's body where the skin is already being irritated by a non-breathable cover 24/7 plus constant wetness plus poop?).
I like that the NMF+beta glucan doesn’t leave my oily-dehydrated skin tight like Clinique moisture surge 100h or Krave beauty oat so simple. Also it does not clog my pores and does not irritate me (which almost 90% of moisturizers do). I am super impressed!
I'm autistic and have sensory issues regarding certain products' textures being on my face, and it is naturally very sensitive. Add onto that years of recovering from hormonal acne thanks to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome have ultimately left me with skin that is needy, yet freaks out over every little thing that touches it. Birth control has helped tremendously, in conjunction with my cleansing and toning routine. However, I'm still on the market for a nice lightweight moisturizer that melts into my face and keeps me hydrated without feeling like greasy vegetable oil sitting on the surface. that moisturizer in the beginning you mentioned? the beta glucan one? that sounds perfect for me. it sounds like it will tackle everything I'm self-conscious about without breaking the bank. Thank you for making such thorough reviews. You and Robert are a godsend.
What I like about single-active products is that I can use them in conjunction with more complete products. For instance, I had a good night routine going with a niacinamide/NAG toner and a moisturizer with peptides, panthenol, vitamin C esters, allantoin, etc. I wanted to incorporate azelaic acid, so I got TO's suspension. I didn't need to eliminate my existing moisturizer that I already liked. It also helps me out when I don't have the knowledge or skills to formulate with a certain active. I actually make most of my own skincare using tutorials from professional formulators and ingredients from cosmetic suppliers. If I don't know how to use something (like azelaic acid), or if I just don't think it's safe for me to DIY (retinoids, high concentrations of AHAs, etc.), I can incorporate a TO single-active product into my routine instead of buying a combination moisturizer and eliminating my own moisturizer from my routine.😮😮
I got the test the phytoceramide moisturizer before it launched, and I absolutely love it. I have super, super dry skin, and it's become a very important part of my routine.
I absolutely love The Ordinary, particularly their Argireline! It's literally a daily holy grail skin care product! My 11s are gone! My eye crinkles are unnoticeable... And I'll be 48 soon!
Could you and maybe robert as well talk about how online social media has impacted our standards for products in that we expect a product to give a filter affect or smoothness like we see on camera . I have noticed producys catered to working online, or named faux filter, filter xyz. I often forget about how skin is meant to look irl, so want my serums to do miracles 😂 same with makeup. I got annoyed at infleucners says their makeup looked cakey or under eye were cakey when it is just normal makeuo texture, normal eye movement etc ❤
The Glycolipid cleanser contains Phytic Acid, which ist just great for removing lime from water, so it leaves the skin REALLY soft and supple. Love it, too!
Sorry, I meant the glucoside foaming cleanser!! Haven’t tried the richer one described first. The foaming one works perfectly for oily skin as morning cleanser or as Second one.
Hi. I have extremely oily, sensitive and acne prone skin, I've been using ordinary products for 6 months and my skin its amazing, better than ever, I feel that if you dont know much about skincare ingredients and products it can be overwhelming but the products are amazing if you use them correctly and know your skin type, the price its unmatched. I've used all brands from pharmacy and supermarkets and I'm sticking with ordinary. I most say that somedays I forget or am too tired for the all skincare process and just cleanse and mosturise and its okay. FIY: I use the gloycolipid cleanser, the glycolic acid 7%, niacinamide + zinc, the vitamin c 23%, retinol 5% and the natural moisturising factors, I don't have their sunscreen because I'm finishing the one I got at home but I'm buying it next. Love the video ❤
I stayed with the ordinary because the formulas have been good on my skin and I don't have to deal with fragrance. I've tried the foaming cleanser, I like it as a first cleanse. I'm using mature skin serums for face and eyes but won't bore people with my experience. Glad you gave them another chance.
Love the NAG serum with aloe. I developed acne in my mid 30s and it is really helping with my scars. After 2 weeks of continuous use I just noticed the last few days that my skin is looking better!
I haven't used a foaming cleanser in years but decided to try this and i love it. I'm more of a cream or balm kind of guy so of course i tried the cream first. I also love it but I'm more into the foaming glucosides partially because they are novel to me as someone who typically avoids foaming cleansers. I can even lather up my lash line with no irritation.
Do you find it effectively removes sunscreen? I normally use the squalane cleanser and that gets everything off but it doesn’t work for my beard area and need to use a separate one. Hoping this could work for both
That really sounds great. I love a foaming cleanser that I can use on my eyes. Sqeaky clean. I bet the NMF gel feels so good on freshly cleansed skin....but not sure if the gel would work on the eye area.
“I don’t love this one, but my skin does” 😂 somebody pls put that on a t-shirt With dry skin type the glycolipd cream cleanser will be the first thing i try from their new releases
❤❤❤I will be 50 this year, and I have a robust skincare regimen that includes red light therapy, the Nira laser and tretinoin. i have very dry and dehydrated skin. I love love LOVE The Ordinarys Natural Moisturizing Factors with Phytoceramides - it is the most hydrating moisturizer I have ever used. I wear it both day and night after all my serums. It's amazing for dry skin!! ❤. Thank you for posting this 😊 love your channel!!
I really liked this review! I know James loves fun and interesting skincare but because the market is now SO OVERSATURATED it’s nice to take time to see what good basics are out there.
Not only are they easily accessible but based on how the key ingredients seem to be plant based; it appears they may be vegan products. So they're making affordable, easily accessible products that are effective and non stripping that can be used by p much everyone (who would benefit from any combination of those particular products) And they made options so they can cover a wider range of skin condition
The Ordinary has been my go-to brand for 4 years now. What I love about it is that it didn't stop working after using it for 6 months. All other skincare that I've used prior that point, I found had to be swapped out with another brand, because it just stopped being effective on my skin. That includes both luxury and drugstore brands. I am still using The Ordinary and I have essentially 2 serums (Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and the Multi-peptide + HA Serum (formely The "Buffet")), a retinoid (Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane) and an oil (The "B" Oil), together with the moisturiser. This combination saved my skin from a damaged skin barrier and the over production of sebum. I agree, it took a while and a lot of research to figure out what to purchase, and I had a product here and there that didn't end up working for me, but what I'm using today is still working. I am however interested in the new moisturisers and cleansers, because I tend to have a bit drier skin, more so during winter, when I need more moisture. Thanks for making this informative video on these new products! 😃
I honestly wish The Ordinary team would name their product better, like the NMF + beta glucan one, it would have helped so much if they add "gel" or "lightweight" etc in the name. Consumers would know immediately about the texture of that moisturizer.
The founder of the company felt strongly about avoiding marketing terms that are used in empty and/or misleading ways elsewhere in the industry. I think that has a lot to do with why you see them stick to language about what is in a product and how it functions, with less emphasis on subjective terms
I bought all The Ordinary serums and actives, tried them and picked 5 that really worked on my skin. I make my own "buffet" from them every month or so, just pop equal amounts in a spare bottle. (Having first checked that they can be applied at the same time!) So one application every morning, plus my retinol/retinal at night, plus moisturiser and I'm out of there. The Ordinary is great for trying lots of different formulations to see what works and what doesn't, but you need a bit of patience to work it out. Hence the "one size fits all" stuff that is clogging up the market.
@braelinnbjerklie2144 it's considerably lighter than the og moisturizer. I really like it! It's not greasy, a nice light consistency, and leaves my skin hydrated enough. It works well for my oily skin.
I appreciate your honesty when it comes to TO. There's a lot of skin influencers who have a cult-like loyalty and trash TO's competitors such as Good Molecules and The Inkey List. It's off-putting. I have a few products from TO I'm using right now but not everything is a hit and sometimes other brands have better versions of the same thing. I'm not sure if these new launches are for me or not but it's nice to have a review of them I can trust.
I still like The Ordinary to this day. Their products can be pretty basic but it's effective. I use a combination of their products with my Korean skincare products which helped my skin recover. I have dry/normal skin but I ended up with acne-prone skin in Taiwan when I worked there for 9 months. It was a disaster I never had acne before thankfully after another 9 months of being diligent with using BHA/AHA, glycolic acid, retinol, cica, tea tree, mugwort, and a few different moisturizers my skin was fine again.
So this is why I love your videos so much and your opinion on things. You always explained why you didn't like The Ordinary and those reasons are why I drifted from them as I got a better handle on what my skin needed and my own knowledge on skincare. But my long-winded point, you have no problem making a video saying "Hey, this brand is coming out with great things!" You care about the products and are willing to give brands another chance and if their new things are good you will say so.
Regarding babies. It's for the creases of their neck which can collect milk, fluff and etc. You would be surprised with what baby hands collect in between their fingers. Also the nappy area need to be cleaned. Depending on the age, as they get older and get into more messy things.
My skin was so dull and dry that if I put any moisturizer on it, it just sat like grease. Super oily. Nothing absorbed. And then dry, flakey patches on my cheeks. I used some ordinary, cerave, and pixie products with that I’ve learned from James and now my skin absorbs any moisturizer, my skin is sos soft, and no dry patches. I started with a lot of treatments lol but they were inexpensive and it really seemed like my skin needed them. I feel like if you don’t know what’s going on it’s easy to get confused / carried away. The skin on my face finally acts like healthy skin and my self confidence has exploded (in a good way lol)
Personally, I wouldn’t use anything on my baby’s face other than a very mild baby soap with colloidal oatmeal (my son had eczema on his face so just the most mild cleanser formulated for sensitive baby skin). This is just my opinion, but when a product for adults says you can use it on a baby, it still wouldn’t convince me to use it on my child, it just means that you could if you wanted if you ran out of baby soap formulated for baby skin. As a matter of fact, I feel like it would be the opposite. A baby formulation that an adult could also use too. This is just my opinion only. When a baby is a small infant you only need to gently clean its face at bath time with the same gently baby bath…outside of the occasional blurppy mess😅. Some people bathe their baby once a day, some every other day. We bathed my son every other day due to his skin but would still give him a gentle damp wash all over and in his crevices with a baby washcloth and mild water daily. As a baby grows and is introduced to baby food or solid foods, then yes it needs a little more attention to cleansing and once baby goes from crawling to standing to walking, they will get messier and sometimes need two baths in the same day if they were extra naughty exploring the world around them.
Maybe you aren't aware but there is a high pitch background noise in your recent videos. It never happens with other youtubers' videos and the noise stops when I pause the video so it's not my phone going crazy I think.
@@sammistrade lmao, maybe it wasn't an actual problem before I pointed it. Though I'm very sensitive with sounds so others like me would have picked it up
Hi I’m a chemist! I’m not a skincare chemist but glycolipids are essential in the production of glycocalyx structures known as biofilms. A biofilm is the collection of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi) in an organised layer. It sounds gross but the symbiotic organisms that make up our microbiome are what protect the skin. Plaque on the teeth are an example of a biofilm, but the skin barrier should also be considered a biofilm. So I think the idea of the cleanser is that it’s washing away debris but still reinforcing the skin barrier via glycolipids.
Love this video! Was seeing their newer stuff and was thinking of trying some of their new things so thank you ❤❤ i had previously bought a bunch of their single ingredient serums and really hated the complexity of what to put on when/first. But I've been intrigued by their new things!
I love the new products that The Ordinary has released as well! I have the Glucoside Foaming Cleanser, the Glycolipid Cream Cleanser, the NMF + Beta Glucan, and The Aloe + NAG serum. These are phenomenal! And the price point is 😘.
I too have the glycolipid cleanser and the atural mousirizing factor +phytoceramide moisturizer. I use then with the 2% hyalurnic acid+ b5 serum .i'm really pleased how my mature skin likes them, they work well with the vitamin c serum i use and the retinol i use at night. My skin looks nice, feels healthy and smooth. Good stuff! Cheers!
I love the Ordinary for being vegan and cruelty-free. They're a Canadian brand, which is local for me. The no-frills affordable products are great, both skincare and foudations/concealers.
I ❤ NMF plus beta glucan. I have dry skin - i use it under my moisturizer at night (sometimes add an antioxidant to it) and in AM under my SPF. It feels super hydrating and seals the skin almost like a primer/serum. Just ordered the Aloe+Nag! I agree with you 100% on your comments on NMF plus Phytoceramides it is an awesome night time way to lock in hydration all night!
A lot of babies get irritation from food, drool, etc. My first never did but my second actually needs his little face and neck washed pretty regularly and I always worry even baby body wash could be too harsh so I dip a washcloth in soapy water instead of putting it directly on his skin. I would definitely try a face wash that is baby safe.
Sorbolene cream is a great cleanser for all ages that is suitable for sensitive skin. QV, Cerave,Cetaphil make varieties without fragrance. You can slather the baby in cream and then wash off in the bath or with a wet cloth. If there is residue left it wont hurt and can help bubs who have exczema. 😊
For a while, babies only need a bath every 2-3 days with baby soap but it's not really necessary. Once they're a little older and getting into stuff, they need a bath a little more often but still, just baby soap. You can wipe your baby's face when they've made a huge mess eating but again, you're not going to use a face cleanser lol. That's so ridiculous but I'm sure there's people on TikTok making videos about all the different crap they use on them. Chunky babies need their rolls cleaned regularly, especially the neck rolls. In my opinion, babies are expensive, don't spend more than you need to by buying fancy products they don't give a shit about 😂
I'm not buying any new skincare because I've got too much to use up currently, but I've had my eye on all of the new Ordinary launches I would love the cream cleanser especially!
I was just looking at the NMF + beta glucan and noticed it contains xylitol. I’m not sure what the reasoning is for having this ingredient in a skincare item, but it’s worth noting that it is HIGHLY toxic to dogs! Obviously most of our dogs arent eating our skincare, but it’s worth noting that if you have a naughty puppy or a dog who gets into things/the trash, it may not be worth the risk of having a product around with xylitol. It takes a very very small amount to be fatal. ETA: it appears to also be in the NMF + phytoceramides. I quickly skimmed through various other products and did not find it in any others, including the OG NMF.
Should one brand of face wash and cream always be used, or is it better to use one brand after another? What kind of regime is good for the skin? what is the rule please please important for me please reply ❤
I have twins (2years) and don't cleanse their face with soap unless they wear sunscreen on their face which isn't too often because wear UVP sun hats. Now that they're more active and mobile i put a little sunscreen on their face and dilute baby castile soap or thinkbaby soap on a soft cotton cloth during bath time but I wouldn't purchase TO for my babies because it's not a baby brand or a brand geared toward a family friendly simple routine if you know what I mean.
Thanks for this, James! I'm vegan, and trying to navigate through ethical skincare choices. I know The Ordinary are certified cruelty free, and are also vegan safe, so to know that they've improved their product line and that they're a viable option for me is hugely reassuring. 😊
I haven't tried any of those yet but I think the marine hyloronics is very underrated they market it as a light weight alternative to the 2% ha but it's actually full of amino acids and it has an ingredient which I can't remember the name but it opens the waterways into the skin so that your skin absorbs even more moisture
Hi james, the same thing happens to me! I have oily acne prone skin and I m loving their new launches: the beta glucan cream and cleanser plus the aloe NAG serum it's gold.
i got the Aloe + NAG and the foaming cleanser maybe two months ago and this is exactly it. I keep using them and being confused why I keep using them but have been enjoying using them? They're kinda killing it with new simple solution launches right now I feel.
Is the Natural Moisturizing one supposed to leave a coated/waxy feeling on the skin? I just bought it to try and get something better than Cerave, and it doesn't absorb as well. It just leaves my my face feeling like it has something on the surface.
I have a four months old baby and since they really don't get dirty as adults do there isn't really any reason to use any cleansing products. In Sweden we are recommended to bath our babies once a week and only use baby oil in the water. If my son pukes i usually just take a wetwipe for babies to clean him with☺️
Appreciate the video James! :) The Ordinary and the way the educated consumers about ingredients, breaking it down about which sctive does what started me on my conscious skincare journey :) and then i wandered off, trying other brands…other vitamin c, other hyaluronic acid, other peptides…and i started coming back to them these days :) sticking to their retinols, but going to repurchase “Buffet”, nia+zinc, and now you got me interested in the gel moisturizer as well!
I'm doing a long trip and the airplanes have a liquid limit for carry-ons, plus liquids can get potentially messy in baggage. I've always loved all the serum range but now I don't think it will work. Do you know if the brand has easier travel items for dry skin?
I already use a few of their serums in my daily routine, I really want to try some of these new products especially the glycolipid cleanser for the morning.
im going to give the glycolipid cleanser a try again, as well as the Beta glucan moisturizer and aloe x NAG. I wasn't impressed and was afraid to step away from a routine that wasn't doing it anymore the first time however this review has changed my mind. I tried the foaming cleanser and gave it away by accident, so I may buy that one again. I'm going to do what you have, just use the Aloe serum along with the new cleanser & moisturizer and exfoliation 2x a week (I like exfoliation)
Currently using the ceramide moisturizer, it is amazing. Thick, but not over thicken. Day and night. Little goes a great way. It is amazing product. I got the aloe serum, still figuring how it really fits into my routine. But the plus side it us soothing
I get a little sad when this brand gets attacked just because people want to buy everything they see. All products had a write up explaining what they did. The reason Brandon started the Ordinary is because brands were charging ridiculous prices for products with cheap ingredients. If you notice many brands make a big thing of promoting Glycerin which is one of the cheapest ones. Mainly those high priced products. The idea was not to buy everything but to select certain products based around one or two ingredients. The reason they introduced more products was due to choice. They had more sophisticated products at higher prices. I swear by FECC but can't justify all the products in the NIOD line. I'm disappointed because he the obviously had mental health issues when they took over his company. His concept, his genius, his passion. Gone. Because that's when he went?? off the balcony. Yes, he likely needed an intervention and Estée Lauder may be one of the better brands but there was only one Brandon. I believe if Brandon had kept hold of his company, they would have developed it further. He was planning a prescription type service. Sound familiar? He opened our eyes to what the beauty industry was and is (yes I love makeup and skincare) and showed them up for what they are. I'm sorry for the rant but the beauty industry con us every day. I know. I'm one of many that falls for the marketing. He opened our eyes about true costs. In one interview he was asked how he could make money selling The Ordinary products for so little. He actually said the mark up on those cheap ingredients were higher (%) than NIOD. They sell more because people can choose which ones will suit them and buy at a fair price. Sorry for continuing the rant.
I don't need much for my skin and the Ordinary products that I use provide me with everything I need and can't get from the brands that I also use for skincare. Their products are also so much more affordable than most brands, I love them.
I love the ordinary! But I’m the summer I need more light weight skincare since I don’t use Clinique anymore.. I might be picking up the first cleanser and the gel moisturizer bc I’ve been WAITING for the ordinary to home out with more moisturizers!
interesting. I also stopped using them pretty much. I only really like the bha, aha red chemical peeling. The gel moisturizer sounds promising since I have oily but dehydrated skin and mostly use serum + sun screen during the day. Will check it out tomorrow somewhere near me when I find it
I use is hyaluronic acid every morning and night, niacinimide in the morning and salicylic acid at night. I then moisturise afterwards. Is this over doing it? I also use a salicylic acid cleanser some nights but don’t follow with the serum.
Never used any products on babies. First week, you just wash their bottom and after that, I use an all over baby wash. My very fav that I use, for my facewash as well is the eucerin baby delicate sensitive skin wash and shampoo. It doesn't dry their skin. If they need moisture in the winter, i use cerave but mostly aquaphor for their rashes and eczema
The Ordinary was the first beand i turned to back in the day, when i first took an interest in skincare. Looks like i also need to check back & see what's on offer 🤔 The jelly moisturiser & aloe serum look interesting.
I love The Ordinary. Their Salicylic acid anhydre solution has been doing wonder for the irregularities on my forehead, and it can be easily used in combination with hyaluronic acid and peptide serum!
I’ve been looking at some of the new Ordinary items but skeptical bcz I really only loved the Hylamide SubQ line and they ended those. Some of the formulas that they just created are similar to the SubQ skin but I really just want my SubQ back 😩. I will now try the betaglucan since you gave it such a nice review. 😊

The Ordinary is my main non-Korean brand, so I've never stopped loving most of their products, but they really have been knocking it out of the park lately. I just picked up a new tube of the iUNIK beta glucan moisturizer; maybe I'll have to get TO's as well and compare the two.
hi! do you have any favorite Korean sunscreens?
@@grrbarking the Beauty of Joseon probiotic sunscreen is my favorite Korean one, but my top one in general is the mermaid UV gel by the Japanese brand Canmake.
@@mollyapteros do you know if itd be okay for oily skin
@@g4uzysorry , maybe is too late for this answer but anyway I will say no for oily skin, because I have very, very dry skin and for me its great but it's going to be too much for oily skin... greetings from Greece ❤
Haha never thought I’d see the day the Ordinary got a redemption for James 😂
SERIOUSLY! Was shocked to see this video hahaha
I was shocked 😂
Agreed after all these years of watching him
If the price is right 💁🏼♀️

I am super impressed!
thanks for that info! I think I will also try it out
I'm autistic and have sensory issues regarding certain products' textures being on my face, and it is naturally very sensitive.
The beta glucan moisturiser mixes with basically all layers above or below, serums, sunscreens etc. - works so perfectly!!
You talk about babies like they are a alien species whose anatomy is behond our comprehension and I am HERE FOR IT 😂😂
Love the aloe 2% since using it for a few weeks and it's really helped with blackheads.
Do you use the serum daily? And what type of skin do you have? I've been wanting to buy it but unsure how often to apply
Their Argireline is a godsend! I canceled a Botox appointment after using it for a week!
@@noranightmare1569 seriously?!
I have it but haven’t used it consistently.
How did you use it for before seeing such good results?
“Ahh my skin looks nice” best description ever! I completely know that feeling of surprise after using a product a while
I haven't used a foaming cleanser in years but decided to try this and i love it.
“I don’t love this one, but my skin does” 😂 somebody pls put that on a t-shirt
With dry skin type the glycolipd cream cleanser will be the first thing i try from their new releases
I know James loves fun and interesting skincare but because the market is now SO OVERSATURATED it’s nice to take time to see what good basics are out there.
personally got into skincare thanks to the ordinary, so super excited for the new products and their redemption! can't wait to try them
Not only are they easily accessible but based on how the key ingredients seem to be plant based; it appears they may be vegan products. So they're making affordable, easily accessible products that are effective and non stripping that can be used by p much everyone (who would benefit from any combination of those particular products)
And they made options so they can cover a wider range of skin condition
They are! They also refuse to sell their products in countries that require animal testing, like China.
Their website is quite descriptive…
I bought all The Ordinary serums and actives, tried them and picked 5 that really worked on my skin. I make my own "buffet" from them every month or so, just pop equal amounts in a spare bottle. (Having first checked that they can be applied at the same time!) So one application every morning, plus my retinol/retinal at night, plus moisturiser and I'm out of there. The Ordinary is great for trying lots of different formulations to see what works and what doesn't, but you need a bit of patience to work it out. Hence the "one size fits all" stuff that is clogging up the market.
I love the new lash serum from the Ordinary! And the new face cleanser.
I literally spent the week going back and forth about purchasing that first moisturizer with beta glucan. You convinced me to go for it.
What do you think??? I'm combo and their og natural moisturizing factors was way too heavy for my skin.
But my long-winded point, you have no problem making a video saying "Hey, this brand is coming out with great things!"
You care about the products and are willing to give brands another chance and if their new things are good you will say so.
I love the glucoside cleanser it’s so good for everyday and also to take off makeup. Doesn’t strip the skin either x
Maybe you aren't aware but there is a high pitch background noise in your recent videos. It never happens with other youtubers' videos and the noise stops when I pause the video so it's not my phone going crazy I think.
I didn’t notice that till listening really close but it’s definitely there!!
I thought my neighbours had the washing machine on but yes

God damnit I didn’t hear it until I read this comment 🤣
Vegan and cruelty free are both non negotiable for me, and I'm so pleased James chose to review them again. The price point is a good draw, too 😊
I ❤ NMF plus beta glucan. I have dry skin - i use it under my moisturizer at night (sometimes add an antioxidant to it) and in AM under my SPF. It feels super hydrating and seals the skin almost like a primer/serum.
Just ordered the Aloe+Nag! I agree with you 100% on your comments on NMF plus Phytoceramides it is an awesome night time way to lock in hydration all night!
love how TO made soothing products in time for my tretinoin era
No just use whatever works for your skin! I personally don’t use all the same brand because they won’t always have what works for your skin
Are you going to try Lisa Eldridge's new skin care??? Very interested in your opinion. Many blessings!💖💖💖
Yesss I’m also loving these new releases! The cream cleanser is so good. Quickly became a favorite!
What would you say is better/personally prefer… natural moisturising factors betaglucan or the natural moisturising factors + ha?
i got the Aloe + NAG and the foaming cleanser maybe two months ago and this is exactly it. I keep using them and being confused why I keep using them but have been enjoying using them? They're kinda killing it with new simple solution launches right now I feel.
wait so you wash with the glucoside followed by the aloe + nag??? I just got it and im excited hahaha also how often do you use the aloe+nag? 👀👀👀
@@fxh23 I use it day and night.
5:45 I love that miffy face towel !!!
oh my gosh that miffy cloth!!! where did you get that???
When do I use the aloe Nag product - in what order? Thanks. I usually use aloe to seal everything in as an option to a primer.
If my son pukes i usually just take a wetwipe for babies to clean him with☺️
omg your miffy cloth is so cute!!
It looks so good! I'd be delighted to try it out! 😍👌
Appreciate the video James! :)
The Ordinary and the way the educated consumers about ingredients, breaking it down about which sctive does what started me on my conscious skincare journey :) and then i wandered off, trying other brands…other vitamin c, other hyaluronic acid, other peptides…and i started coming back to them these days :) sticking to their retinols, but going to repurchase “Buffet”, nia+zinc, and now you got me interested in the gel moisturizer as well!
Does the moisturizer soothe and help calm redness?
I'm doing a long trip and the airplanes have a liquid limit for carry-ons, plus liquids can get potentially messy in baggage. I've always loved all the serum range but now I don't think it will work. Do you know if the brand has easier travel items for dry skin?
One of the most helpful TO videos I've seen - thank you for being so open to changing your opinion! ❤
I already use a few of their serums in my daily routine, I really want to try some of these new products especially the glycolipid cleanser for the morning.
I agree. I thought that I was "over" them. Then I picked up one of the cleansers and the aloe serum. Welcome back, The Ordinary.
im going to give the glycolipid cleanser a try again, as well as the Beta glucan moisturizer and aloe x NAG.
Honestly with the ordinary it just makes me relieved that I don’t ever have to worry about fragrance irritating my skin or eyes
Can you do the ordinary for dry skin?
Love The Ordinary’s new things!!! Have tried most of new offerings. Love!
I don't need much for my skin and the Ordinary products that I use provide me with everything I need and can't get from the brands that I also use for skincare. Their products are also so much more affordable than most brands, I love them.
Babies usually only need warm water & a wash cloth on their faces ❤ lol
Yess.. unless they toddlers and put color markers all over their face! 😩🤣😩🤣
I love the ordinary! But I’m the summer I need more light weight skincare since I don’t use Clinique anymore.. I might be picking up the first cleanser and the gel moisturizer bc I’ve been WAITING for the ordinary to home out with more moisturizers!
I LOVE the NMF phytoceramides, I've pretty much stopped using any other skincare products this past month!
interesting. I also stopped using them pretty much. I only really like the bha, aha red chemical peeling. The gel moisturizer sounds promising since I have oily but dehydrated skin and mostly use serum + sun screen during the day. Will check it out tomorrow somewhere near me when I find it
Do you think the Aloe NAG would be too strong for damaged skin barrier? I know it’s supposed to support skin barrier
I would love to see some reviews on NIOD. The ordinary sometimes interests me but I keep eyeying all the wierd concoctions from NIOD
I always get so excited when you post. ✨😌 Love ya.
I can’t say enough great things about the ordinary, the ordinary is extraordinary
I use is hyaluronic acid every morning and night, niacinimide in the morning and salicylic acid at night. I then moisturise afterwards. Is this over doing it? I also use a salicylic acid cleanser some nights but don’t follow with the serum.
Is it good for pimples and scars?
I mainly wash my baby with water unless she’s extremely sticky or managed to get paint in her hair or something
U have a miffy cloth! LUCKYYY! im happy u reviewed the gel moisturizers i was waiting for it, and i wonder if it's similar to iunik gel moisturizers
Looks like i also need to check back & see what's on offer 🤔
The jelly moisturiser & aloe serum look interesting.
I’m a mom of a 10 month old and I only wash him with Castile soap bar and water because is simple and gentle for babies skin.
I love The Ordinary. Their Salicylic acid anhydre solution has been doing wonder for the irregularities on my forehead, and it can be easily used in combination with hyaluronic acid and peptide serum!
Can you wash your face with the glucoside foaming cleanser followed by the aloe/NAG 2% serum?
I’ve been looking at some of the new Ordinary items but skeptical bcz I really only loved the Hylamide SubQ line and they ended those. Some of the formulas that they just created are similar to the SubQ skin but I really just want my SubQ back 😩. I will now try the betaglucan since you gave it such a nice review. 😊
