Just wanted to let everyone watching this know, DO NOT CLEAN THE “Nintendo” OR THE OTHER NINTENDO LABLE ON THE OTHER SIDE (The grey part) WITH ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, IT WILL COME OFF! The red “Nintendo” label is paint and not part of the plastic so is it comes in contact with isopropyl alcohol it come right off. I accidentally did this when I was cleaning off mine and wiped off the “int” of N”int”endo (and a little bit of the “e”). Thankfully I noticed this and was careful when cleaning the other side.
I have the issue where pulling the trigger doesn't do anything at all on the nes. The switch works and the cable isn't broken and can't see anything obvious on the board 😅 any ideas?
I've never found a good replacement cord with the correct connector, unfortunately. I have seen other folks take NES extension cables and try to splice it in, but you will have to make sure it is Zapper compatible. It is possible to use an NES controller plug, but requires some work. You can take apart the plug at the end, move a few of the pins to the correct positions for a Zapper, and splice it in.
I doubt you will see this but the spring in the trigger part of my zapper is makes a weird noise when I pull the trigger I tried cleaning it but no luck, also on a semi unrelated not the cartridge port lid for my nes is squeaky, is that normal?
Great video! It was just what i was looking for. Thank u
Glad it was helpful!

Yup. Almost happened to my NES console, got a little too close to the logo and some started to wipe off. Thankfully it’s almost unnoticeable.
R'tards.. the isopropyl/rubbing alcohol is only for the pins.. not to clean the system's shell.. where is the 3rd stooge?
Is there a diagram for the zapper port? I've found one with a torn off port , with just wires.
I can't find a diagram to wire another port......

What direction does the lens go?
Man, i feel like in full metal jacket when i take apart my zapper to clean it.
Any experience fixing the light on it?
My gun isn't working I think it's the bulb inside because when plugged in it still makes the shooting noise
What products do you use for cleaning these?
Can you teach me how to take the wire off of the gun plz
Where can you find zapper cord replacement? The nes controller has a different cord than the zapper.
