- We get a chance to sit down with Louis Lylock with this Porsche 911 997.1 Carrera. It has been tastefully modded just the way I like it. In this episode, lets learn about Louis's passion for his Porsche 911.

The 997 is the perfect 911 generation. It’s perfectly positioned between the old and the new. Last of the analogs!
💯💯🙌😃 I miss my 997 gts 😅
Like lewis I too get my kick from “ownership experience” and tracking isn’t my trip. Porches are pieces of art firstly and just having one and staring at it every day is a trip in itself not to mention the main course which is of course driving one. It’s all about passion. When I walk up to my shark blue boxster gts 4.0 on a sunny Saturday and go cruisin top down on a back road or even in the city when there’s no traffic It’s truly a mesmerizing feeling/uplifting feeling. Love your videos because they depict so well people’s passion for cars and porches especially. 🙏🏼
Well said 🙌😃💯
He could not be more on target, I've got an Arctic silver 996 and a black 997, no comparison, keeping that black 997 clean has become the bane of my existence!!! Looks amazing when clean and polished, key word being "when"...
😂 yea I feel your pain (with the black one).
🙌😃🙌
997.1 Was the first Porsche that I got to drive and I love it
Amazing! Yea the driving feel and experience is hard to beat.
That’s a good generation of 911s to start on 🙌😃
Lovely story... just like every 911 owner. Love the captures in motion. Perfect 997.1. If only I could now get my 991.1 GTS suspension just like this!
Thank you for watching 😃🙌
Do you not want to lower your 991.1? I suggest coilovers BC racing seems to have worked well for many.
I'm obsessed. Truly. Looks exceptional.
🙌😃💪
I love the arctic silver.. It was my first color Porsche in a 987. I have a black Porsche now… Just amazing craftsmanship in these cars. Love it!! There has to be an affinity for these cars to truly appreciate the brand.. Great video! 😊
Congrats on your 911, and I agree with you. Once you get into a 911, you understand what it offers 😃🙌
Thank you for supporting the channel
Love the silver / black - 👀💯✅- beautiful 911 - great video
Appreciate that 🙌😃
I really enjoyed this one, well done. Can’t be said enough the value of maximizing pleasure without having your car impounded with the 997 generation. I miss mine, and I can tell you the size difference to the 991/992 is significant. Wash it, and you can’t help but notice. 997 lines are sexier.
💯😃🙌
I agree I have a 991.1 as well as a 997.2 and I wish it was a bit smaller, the 992 is vast inside and outside
Agree 💯
As always, the best 911 content out here. And why are all the most beautiful 911's in that area up there??? ;)
Appreciate that feedback. It encourages me to do more vids like this 🙌😃🙏
From a 7.1 owner to another, good luck keeping the painted lip, painted, as it scratches, go with the cup lip, more flexible and not too expensive and keep it black. Also, the aero bumper is not “GT3 inspired” the aerokit was available on the 911 prior to the GT3 even being available, in other words, the GT3 kit was actually “inspired” by the aerokit.
This is what’s great about a free world. We have the choice to do what we want 🙌😃
The lip is definitely considered a consumable, just like it is on my GT3RS
If heavily used on track a painted lip would not make sense unless it has been PPF’d
Once again appreciate your comment and your thoughts 🙌😃
Perfect ! This is what i like to see
Another great vid 👌🏻 that silver is classic! Yes, the 997 gen is a sweet spot with lots of character. Also miss my 997.2 Targa4S (Weissach as well ;)
Thank you 🙌😃🙏
Having owned my black on black 997 Carrera S for 10 years, I just can't think of another 911 I would rather have. The only model that I have considered is the 997 Turbo, but then you lose the unique exhaust note of the NA car. I believe the 997 is the best-looking 911 ever made.
That’s amazing. I agree with you 997s are great. The most analog semi-modern sports car 🙌😃
Fantastic video, great interview, whoever edited the video did a fantastic job as well. Subscribed within a couple minutes of the video.
Thank you, appreciate you watching the video. All the content is created and edited by myself. One man show here and I am thankful to have great friends who help me with the chase car during the shoots 😃🙌
Beautiful car. Congrats!
🙌🙏😃
GREAT Content , thumbs up from Ottawa ! Prabhul is a nice conversationalist , keep up the clean job .
Thank you, I appreciate the support 🙌😃🙏
Another great video, beautiful car. And yes after yellow paint I noticed a significant reduction in brake dust
Thanks man.
I will paint mine yellow soon now. I can’t stand the brake dust ok my RS5
Nice Obsessed Garage hat! And beautiful 997
🙌😃💯
Gorgeous car. My first 911 was a Silver in Black too. Just a timeless look. Great video. Great film!
Thank you and appreciate the support 😃🙌
So happy for you that you have such a clean 997. I currently have FOUR cars (I know, I know, I know...), and I'm definitely willing to rid myself of two of them to make room (financially) for a 997.2. I really want a narrow body RWD with a 6 speed manual, but functionally, a wide body 4S with the auto makes more sense for my usage case (I plan to daily this thing because I'm crazy). Automatics are also slightly cheaper on the internet as well... Anyways I'm rambling, sweet 911 dude. Never let her go!
Thanks! Daily a 911 is a dream. And yes enjoy less premium with an auto which is always crazy thinking as they were more expensive when new.
🙌😃💪
Another great vid. The seven is looking clean Louis 🎉
🙌😃🙏 thank you for watching
Sick transitions! Thanks for keeping the 997 love alive. From a 7.2 owner.
Thank you 🙌😃🙏
Hang on to your 997 🙌😃
More car Stories, thus works and is genuinely interesting
Thank you and appreciate the support 😃🙌🙏
997 series still is a great dailydriver in all respects albeit I really disliked a Tiptronic fitted car when I was offered a test drive years ago by a kind sportcars retailer.A 6speed manual gearbox would be my choice today instead or hands down I'd go for a Coupé PDK equipped specimen.Three years ago I hired a Cabrio PDK and I really had an awesome holiday trip with it.Thanks for sharing your experience :)
100% a manual is definitely the way to go on a non PDK 911. 😃
@@thedevthing I agree.
Definitely a manual is the best (from my vantage point the only choice ) way to go as far as the Mk1 version is concerned.
Great video. Absolutely love the car and the conversation.
Thank you, 🙌🙏😃 appreciate the support
Watching live from the Swan!
🙌🙌😃
Very nice Channel..
Thank you, I appreciate that 🙏🙌😃
Sweet
Great production as usual! Keep them coming! 🎉
Thank you, I appreciate your support 😃🙌
👌🏾❤️👌🏾 love my 997.1 (the sweetest of all 911 generations)
It’s definitely the last of the modern analog machine 🙌😃
Shout out to Weissach in Vancouver! Great people, great place to buy a car.
🙌😃
Beautiful car! Well done!
🙏🙌😃
Another great video! Love that Louis is reppin an OG hat!
🙌😃🙌
Cool...
😃🙌🙏
Do the stock headers and cats keep the noise level tolerable with those muffler deletes? It sounds fabulous in the video. I can’t believe it’s not totally obnoxious with no mufflers 😂. I’d love to do the same mod. Thanks.
Nice car I like it
🙌🙏😃
The car looks really outstanding. However, for reasons of aerodynamics, the GT3 front bumper aerokit should always be installed together with the GT3 rear spoiler aerokit, otherwise the car will be pushed down heavily at high speeds at the front while the rear loses downforce and can therefore break away in corners. But if you don't drive above 200km/h it shouldn't matter much. ☺
💯 the owner is definitely aware of the downsides. If you end up doing track days this setup would cause a lot of instability. But for city and back road cruising, it’s ok. 😃🙌
Cracks me up when people think you need PCCBs, as if the car is so inferior with the stock red Brembos. A little secret, since you might be new to the game, many GT3/RS owners swap out the carbon ceramics to reds, and reinstall them when they sell the car, and many guys that track the car a lot. Ironic
If you live on the track and are chasing lap time, yes steel brakes are cost effective.
Our obsession with PCCB is purely aesthetics only. The best compromise for occasional track and street use. Thank you for the comments 🙌😃
The main reason to do this is the risk of stone chips on the disc with track work. The great thing about PCCB for me is the reduced weight and the superb breaking plus the lack of rust and reduced dust
💯 that’s the main attraction for me also with PCCB 😃
Perfect!!
🙌😃
Wow, great video. Just about every sentiment expressed here on the 911, and the 911 owner experience mirrors my views completely. Thank you.
🙌😃🙏
VISUAL: Plate says Clean 911. AUDIO: Sounds dirty AF.
GreaytJob Also you must get the PCCM - makes such a difference - I did and it was not cheap but sooooo worth it.)
🙌😃
Excellent video and I've seen your posts on RL. Fellow 997.1 C2S owner and I don't know how you manage to keep your lip scratch free. A slight correction on the Aero kit bumper. It was available on the 997.1 before the GT3 came out so essentially the Aero kit inspired the GT3, not the other way around.
This 911 is not as low as some of the 911s in our group. Can you imagine the stress of driving it that low 😂😃🙌
Sick ‘n clean ryde! Btw, what brand name is your expresso machine?
It’s a Nespresso machine 😃🙌
@cleanwagen
Can you give more details on your Soul Exhaust please.
What headers, cats, muffler set up do you go for?
Its probably one of the best sounding 997.1 I have heard 👌
Better than my C4S any way 😂
Soul Performance bypass pipe and tips. Taking out the mufflers really wakes it up!
@@cleanwagen Thanks. So you kept the original headers and Cats?
@@juleslockwood2656 correct!
🙌😃
Enjoying all of your Porsche/owner spotlight videos, very well done. Question about these HRE wheels: I looked into these “flow forged” wheels because i love the look, and like HRE wheels. Before I drop money on these I want to know what Luis thinks of them, they are not true “forged wheels”, so I’m wondering how they will hold up compared to forged, since I’m trying to save money for my 997. Love the whole car and the look, just wondering about these wheels, as they are not reasonable considering they are still a “cast” wheel, even though they are well made clearly, and look great. Keep up the great videos 👍
Thank you and I appreciate you watching these videos.
I have poked Louis to comment further on details. You can also reach out to him directly on IG if you are on there too.

Have no regrets choosing these wheels. Love them.
What a gorgeous 997. Can I ask you what Wheel And Tire size your running please? They look stunning !!
Thanks! Running Michelin PS4S 235/35/19 and 305/35/19 on 19x8.5 and 19x11
@cleanwagen, I love your wheel and tire setup. Are your rear HRE wheels et 60 for narrow body or et 35 for wide body?
@prabhuldev whenever I finish my 911 I'd like to meet you and go for a drive!!! Amazing video, congratulations!!!
Thank you, I appreciate that.
Where you located? Maybe we can plan something 😃🙌

Beautiful 997, maybe get rid of the bumperettes on the rear bumper. I have a 997 2S convertible stick driven. Greets from the Netherlands.
Thank you for watching. I think those bumperettes are required for NA 😃🙌
Love the spec. I would like to get your thoughts on the BC Racing Coilovers.
I will let the owner chime in. Or you can reach out to him on Instagram if you have it 🙌😃
Great coil for the price point that would be hard to beat.
@@cleanwagen 💯💯😃🙌
THe wheel offsets are perfect
🙌😃🙏
I have the same car in black fuch wheels.
Amazing 🙌😃
My question is if this is base 911 or a Carrera S ????
It’s a base 911 Carrera.
Also, in the description you need to correct to 997.1 😉
Fixed thank you 😃
I thought the 06 997s were still prone to IMS issues?
I thought so too. But it seems some of these .1 models got upgrades meant for the .2 before it was released. It even has brakes from the .2 😃🤷♂️
They changed the type of bearing in 2006. 👍🏼
@@cleanwagenpotentially the larger bearing internal to the crankcase in the early 2006 and later cars can fail, but incredibly rare, and not an issue.
If you want to completely dial out the IMS you need a Mezger engine (GT cars to 997.1, and Turbos up to 997.2) or move to a DFI engine (997.2 and later).
Bore scoring issues don't worry you at all...
Watch name please? 😎
Omega x Swatch Speedmaster Moonswatch 👍🏼
🙌😃
when mk4 owners get money
😂
🙌😃💯
Nice video! Hit me up if you want to feature a beautiful 987.2 S!
🙌😃🙏 appreciate the support and will do 😃
Driver sits way too low to drive and see properly
Think of it like an F1 car. Perfect visibility for me!
🙌😃
Looks stunning. That fabspeed intake and (if you have it) IPD 82mm plenum, GT3 throttle body etc rob you of torque. Does improve sound though.
Amazing 🙌😃
