    I am waiting to see what new adventure model will be like. Ps a few more rpms will not hurt the bike, maybe do it some good not labouring below 2k rpms.

      Hi there, I’m curious to see what the GSA will be like too when it finally appears. It would have to be pretty special to tempt me away from my 1200. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙂

    Very nice review, I liked that you made mention of the clutch being light.

      Hi Scott, thank you, I’m glad you like it. With my painful hands (arthritic fingers) I found the clutch to be extremely comfortable. The quick shifter is big help too! Thanks for watching 🙂

      Thanks Arch, it was a fun bike to ride - I still like the one you got your hands on more- the green and gold looks extremely
      classy to me. Thanks for your continual support my friend 😁

    Regarding your Navi VI, I got a refurbished unit directly from Garmin free of charge under warranty. Garmin said the ghosting is a know issue that they and BMW are familiar with but in the absence of a permanent fix, they are replacing them with a refurbished unit. Contact Garmin directly, not BMW for the replacement,

    • @TwoWheeledDreamer

      Thanks for that, I think I will get in touch with Garmin to see what they can do for me (mine is out of warranty), perhaps a discounted refurb would be an option… I really like the unit, I just wish it would work properly!

    Great insight Steve. I test ride the 1300 and the 1250gsa last month .. I bought the 1250 liked it more,
    Personal preference I guess

      Thank you! I think if I were in a position to buy a new bike I would be going for the 1250 over the 1300. I’m really happy with my old 1200 which just feels like a trusty friend. 🙂

    It’s great to get the real riders view of the bike. So many reviews are full of techs jargon laden stuff. I am sure it is a lovely bike, but the only one I could have would be the black with the lowering suspension, being a wee guy. I am thinking about changing my BMW F900R but cost of the spec up 1300 is considerable.
    To remove the message from the screen, just toggle the control wheel to the left. Everything is controlled through the wheel. The dealer should have let you know about this. But yeah, a lovely machine, one day maybe 😂

      Hi Ken, I’m not knowledgeable enough to give anything but a basic review of my thoughts with these bikes and it’s good to hear people don’t always want all the technical jargon and figures. I really did find it quite tall compared to my bike but the lowering suspension model would have made it more confidence inspiring when stopping etc. For now, I will definitely be sticking with my trusty 1200… 🙂

    When is BMW going to get with the program and incorporate NAV and AppleCarplay into a touch capable TFT screen like Honda and now Harley Davidson (and everyone else). See Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sport for how it’s done.

    • @TwoWheeledDreamer
      @TwoWheeledDreamer  9 місяців тому

      Yes, BMW certainly seem slow on the uptake with tech things like that. My partner was looking at replacing her car for a BMW but was put off by the infotainment screen looking like it is an afterthought and not integral to the dashboard…

    Hey Steve 2 things . How's your Ben getting on with his Triumph 660.
    And for you Africa Twin Adventure Sport DCT !

    • @TwoWheeledDreamer
      @TwoWheeledDreamer  9 місяців тому

      Hi there! Ben is absolutely loving the 660 (and I am really impressed with what I’ve seen of it so far). I don’t think he’s managing to get out on it quite as much as he would like as his job is taking all over the place (he’s currently in Australia), and yes, the Africa Twin Adventure Sport DCT would probably work really well for me (I am a big fan of Honda), I’m sure it would help my left hand no end! 🙂

    Looks so skinny compared to your 1200. I’m on the 1250 RS and seriously considered switching to GS this time but I love the RS too much so got the 1250. If you had to upgrade would you take the 1250 or the 1300 to replace yours?

    • @TwoWheeledDreamer
      @TwoWheeledDreamer  9 місяців тому +1

      It’s great the way we bond with certain bikes - the RS is a cracker. Yes, the GS1300 certainly felt and looked very skinny, I think the GSA version would be more to my taste when it comes out but we will see… That’s a great question and I’ve thought about it quite a bit; if I were to upgrade I would go for the 1250 - somehow it just feels more substantial to me. Having said that, I have this plan to keep my 1200 and cover at least 100,000 miles and have many adventures on it!! I’ve always changed bikes quite regularly (I think I’ve owned around 20 or so) but this one feels like the keeper I’ve always been looking for! 😁

    Sounds like a tractor !! ;-) Don't like the tiny windscreen, the narrow front end and the fact that it doesn't have a rear brake light (incorporated in the tiny indicators which is really dangerous in my opinion, especially riding in dark, wet winter nights in traffic). If the coming GSA 1300 is anything like this, my next bike (I have a 1250 GSA) will be a Triumph 1200 Explorer.

    • @TwoWheeledDreamer
      @TwoWheeledDreamer  9 місяців тому +1

      It really did feel narrow when I was riding it, I’m guessing the inevitably wider GSA will feel a bit more familiar. Yes, odd choices with the lights and although I don’t think I mentioned it, it seems very strange to place the front indicators within the hand guards which are going to be subject to impacts. Now the Triumph certainly looks like a very sorted bike from what I have seen.. 🙂
