I like it. It’s like a budget tashi bharucha or a superior paraframe. Civivi seems split these days between endless iterations on familiar designs with ho-hum steels or novel designs like this or the Riffle with more interesting steels like Nitro V and 14c28n.
Interesting blade. One thing I noticed. Sometimes it’s hard to see some of the details of knives because the knife is held directly above, or sitting atop, your logo sticker. If the blade is against the light colored table, there’s more contrast and it’s easier to see. Just a thought.
Good feedback Robert... this all black knife was particularly troublesome, but I noticed it too. I'm considering changing my perspective back to an angle or I will just ditch the logo. 🤷♂️
Right?!? And it's not like the Civivi is titanium and m390... Gerber has the ability... wish they would just execute better. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This knife really should not be mentioned in the same breath as the abomination the Paraframe is! ...or any other junk Gerber throws at the market. However, great video! Thanks!!
Oh yeah my next civivi, or maybe the imperium just something with the nitro v. Actually probably the nox cause I think I would like a traditional handle better long term
Personally I really prefer Shadow Born Hanks, Mad Pow Hanks and Mr. Mruk... they all have Etsy stores and are on Instagram. Check them out! Thanks for watching.
The style may be a bit dated, I can see that, but you couldn't get a knife with these materials and build quality for $65 20 years ago. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@mildmannerededc You're right. If my paraframe even had D2 I'd probably still have it. It was one of those knives that needed sharpening after each use. lol
Well I'm no metallugist mind you, but from my own experience and watching videos of folks smarter than I on how different steels perform, Nitro-V is a pretty significant improvement, in terms of performance, over 14c28n. That said, both are very good EDC steels. My buddy Pete over at Cedric and Ada Outdoors does awesome steel comparisons and performance tests. Worth checking out. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
You all spend a lot of time talking about absolutely nothing. Who's channel do I need to know about, who gives facts and opinions, based upon those facts about the knife in question, as well as, other knowledge about knives in general, that pertain to the knife in question? I don't believe you even covered the character trait that gives it it's name and specifically why that is relevant. The name Perf, is in reference to the fact that it has been skeletonized. Making it look perforated. That should be the first thing covered. Second, you didn't highlight the weight of this knife. Despite it being made entirely of steel, it is significantly lighter, at 2.8 oz., than many other folding knives at the same price point. I think that running down the it's list of measurements, is critical to educate your audience. Just looking at it under your light setup and giving your opinion about how it looks and feels doesn't help the viewer solidify his or her decision in purchasing the knife in question.
Definitely NOTHING more important than going into great detail about the random, often, nonsensical names given to production knives. Great feedback. Also... the first two minutes of the video is just boring specs (including weight 1:55), that's probably when you nodded off, so I can see why you missed it. Thanks for watching.
That's the first thing I thought gerber, but this is cool
I have the nox and really enjoy it. I'm glad to see them branch out to frame lock knives and different steels. Great review 👍
How are you liking the Nox still? Has your pocket clip held up well?
@@radishfox308 still enjoying it quite a bit and no problem with the pocket clip
@@jeremyspaulding7735 thanks man. I'm definitely going to order the black one.
@@radishfox308 your welcome!

I definitely thought Paraframe when I first saw it!! I'm sure its a much better knife!!! Thanks for the look Brad!!
Thank you for sharing. Not completely sure about the look but it should function PERFectly well.

@@mildmannerededc Oh, the logo is great, man. Just move it a bit. It goes so well with your video opening - which is one of the best around.
@@robertanderson1015 Appreciate it... maybe I'll try moving the logo sticker up or over to a corner or something. I'll fiddle around. 👍🏻
@@mildmannerededc it also looks like the video might be a bit strong on contrast and the black point seems a bit high. Just my two cents.
Great video Brad I like that it has a flipper but the handle scales
Totally agree re the Paraframe observation. The Perf just highlights how much better the Gerber should’ve been.

Very cool! Yeah, I'm a big fan of Nitro-V and at these prices, pretty awesome. Baby Banter is Nitro-V as well. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Like the difference. Also wanting to get into the hanks, know any that aren't so expensive? Thanks

Like the dropoint style blade as opposed to original paraframe but the overall style is about 20 years out of style.

Bahahahahah I've had a knife or two like that myself.
which is stronger 14c28n or nitro v?

So a good knife but far from Perf-ect? I'll show myself out.
Bahahahahaha. Don't forget to tip your waiters people. 🤣
what are the screw sizes?
T8s for pivot and scales. T6 for clip.
