I agree with you. I would buy this if the point wasn't so fine. It does make it Stabby looking but I would also fear snapping it off heh.

I just received my Micarta Lumi and the Micarta feels alot like G-10 to me. Some may consider this a bad thing but I'm fine with it. It's also a little darker than I expected which is a good thing because I usually go with black handles. I honestly think this is the best bang for the buck front flipper for those who like small knives.
It's some of Civivi's better micarta I've handled. It still doesn't compare to the fabric-feeling micarta from Kizer in my opinion, but I like it. Yes, it's a pretty good price for the materials and action too. Thank you Mark!

It's a little pocket dropper, not sure on the frontflipper being the method for me. The micarta is nice and it's a very lightweight contoured piece.

Just got a Lumi on trade. It's a cool little knife. Very sharp and pointy blade. The opening mechanism takes some practice and getting used to. I managed to cut myself within a couple minutes.😆

Is the Micarta slick or grippy? How does it compare to other Micarta that you've handled? I'm wondering if I should go with this or one of the G-10 models. Thanks
It's between the slick ones and the Kizer ones. It has texture, but not a lot. It's a medium. Hope that helps a little! Thank you Mark!

Just ordered one these little guys in the black g10. I think it'll make a nice work knife for me. I process a lot of cardboard but I also work around the public so it's often not the right place to whip out a big blade. Not to mention lundquist does an amazing job with these classy minimalist designs, and it's kinda like a budget feist.
That will be perfect for public work. It doesn't scream out at people, but has a great blade! It's an easy pocket dropper too. Let me know how you like it! Thanks bro!

I'm a bit late to the game considering this is a year old but hopefully you see this.... I'm between the civivi lumi and the sencut jubil. I do like the blade profile of the jubil but both are awesome looking knives, so between those 2 which would you recommend?
I like the design overall but I wish the blade wasn’t so thin towards the tip, aesthetically it makes it look out of proportion with the handle
My Lumi has black G10 scales and it weighs in @ 2.1oz.

I like the McKenna so much that I bought the D2 and Damascus models. Ever since I've had it I've thought it was the "best bang for the buck" front Flipper but I think this knife could end up taking that spot. I have two knives with a similar design to the Lumi, which are the We Eidolon and Kansept Reverie and I like both of them so much that I ordered a Micarta Lumi and may end up getting the black G-10 model also.
It's so nice to have so many different options for front flippers now. Just a couple years ago, the selection of front flippers was very limited.
@@markr2370 true. I don’t even own one of them yet, but I’ll check out the other two that you mentioned.... I been holding off on the McKenna because I’ve been so indecisive on the G10 or brass... I know when I upgraded my Rat 2 to brass, I didn’t care for the extra weight... But I was thinking since the McKenna is so much smaller, that the extra weight really wouldn’t matter as much(?). I’d also like to add a titanium clip to it as well... I been wondering if the ti clip off the old Civivi Courser would fit on it(?).
I don't know what you guys are holding out for. Buy the McKenna. You won't regret it.

I always know exactly how big a knife iss I have almost the same size hand as you just a touch bigger in both spots but I can always gauge it pretty well. I'll probably pick this up here soon. I love 14c

It's your paper I have a notebook at home that does the same thing no matter how sharp my knives are it just won't cut right
You know, I've heard that paper has a grain and sometimes it only cuts one direction. You've got me thinking more about that. Lately I've been using the old SMKW catalog paper and it seems to do a lot better. Thank you Chris!

I've seen others that can open it via the "reach over", but I can't with mine. I still haven't had time to disassemble it and see if that helps. It's a sweet little knife! Thank you Lowen!
I wouldn't buy as is. But if they went to a 0.88in thick and changed to a the blade style of the Elementum, then I'd buy in a heart beat.

Cool little knife, reminds me of a sloyd knife for woodcarving. A little small for my taste but an interesting front flipper with a hollow grind definately a good slicer. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

you can, he didn't do it right..
you can do a index finger reach around and open it, its how I open my reverie and it has exact same flipper
Mine must have a stronger detent because I can't get it to budge with the reach around. Even holding the handle with one hand and trying with the other, I can't get it to deploy that way. I'll disassemble and see if a cleaning will help. (Or it could simply be user error😅)

Weird thing is, I'm a righty, but when I got my Kizer SS1 front flipper which was my first of that particular type of deployment, for the longest time I was way better deploying lefty than righty ! Dunno why, just the way it was. Eventually transitioned to righty, thumb and index finger. I have a Lumi coming my way and I'll wager that the first week, with that lil flipper, I'll be better with it lefty, lol
You know, I have noticed the same thing. There are flippers that seem to be easier with my left hand, or they seem to snap better. It must be from the direction of pressure on the lock bar. Very interesting 🤔!
I had that same experience with my Lumi. The action on mine is terrible but for some reason it's noticeably better left-handed... even though I'm right-handed.

Great video! I got mine yesterday and mine is very hard to open. I took it apart already also but it didn't help. I'm hoping mine will break in over time. I definitely can't open with my index finger. I love the knife overall though.
