Chris Rufo's War Against Woke Institutions

- Chris Rufo makes some people angry. Why? Because he's eliminating woke departments at Florida universities, and exposing woke corporate and government trainings.

Rufo was once a filmmaker, making documentaries for PBS about things like American poverty.
But then his research on poverty connected him with government workers who leaked documents about absurd "woke" training programs.
The documents showed that Seattle's Office of Civil Rights, for example, trained employees to "practice self-talk that affirms ... complicity in racism" and to work on "undoing your own whiteness."
Media say Rufo has "invented" a crisis about this kind of thing, and that he's pushing a "moral panic."
But Rufo has evidence. Watch the video above to see some of it.

There has always been slavery and always will be in certain areas of the planet.
However slavery is in no way unique to the United States.
It's as old as humans and when different tribes or nations met on the battlefield, those who survived became servants, slaves or were sold for gold.
African chieftains sold their slaves to other black tribes or the white slave traders. The winning chieftains didn't care who they sold their black or white slaves to as long as they were paid in silver or gold

"In this context, Rufo’s role is clear. He takes critical-race theory as a concept, strips it of all meaning, and repurposes it as a catchall for white grievances. “The goal,” he tweeted, “is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think ‘critical race theory.’ We have decodified the term and will recodify it to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans.” In an interview with the Post, he said the tweet described an “obvious” approach: “If you want to see public policy outcomes you have to run a public persuasion campaign.”" He just wants to get paid, and found this culture war gold nugget.
@@bengaltiger96 The Left hates that he used their tactics against them. And he didn't have to redefine CRT at all - he just exposed it. They treat it like a hot potato because it's really unpalatable to normal Americans.
You are right John. The Dept. of Education should be defunded and disbanded, and the authority should be returned to local school districts.

Man, it is such an absurd juxtaposition. 'White priviliege' awareness training while making weapons that could end the world. You couldn't make this up. Reality truly is stranger than fiction.
I previously worked for a Fortune 100 insurance company for 10 years. They were at the leading edge of the LGBTQ + agenda. We had mandatory meetings and were all told we would all accept the LGBTQ+ agenda. I told my supervisor (who is Catholic) that I may have to tolerate the LBGTQ agenda but I do not have to accept it based on my moral compass. My supervisor told me I had to accept it if I wanted to work there. I told her I would absolutely not accept it but I had no problem tolerating it as I have worked with multiple gay people without incident. Within months, I was terminated for poor work performance. My work performance was obviously fine for 9.5 years but all of a sudden it wasn't because I would not follow the sheep.
Just before all this garbage broke out my then wife and I worked in a factory together. One of the floor supervisors was a lesbian that on a daily basis (for approx a month) would greet my wife by saying things like 'hi sugar bunny' and 'hi sleep over friend' (and no, my wife never said or did anything to give the impression she was interested) . So I took this up with the top boss and spoke bluntly, the supervisor should only address my wife by her married name or first name and not sexual innuendo bedroom pet names as it was unprofessional. To my suprise, it worked without retribution. Try that now and see how fast you get fired for speaking up against lbgq sexual harrasment.
I don't get what your supervisor being Catholic has anything to do with it. I'm Catholic but I surely don't think like your supervisor. I do think you should have just kept your beliefs private at work. I don't know when the work place became so political but none of it belongs there. By you outright telling your boss that you refuse to go along with some doctrine (whether absurd or not) that you knew the company stood for, you essentially put a giant target on your back, almost like you were daring them to fire you. Then they did. I wish companies would stay in their lane. It's not their place to get involved in social and political issues but you said what you did just looking for trouble so don't be surprised when you find trouble. Sounds like a bad company to work for anyway. Good riddens, right?
@@vaskylark Actually, I don't know how that person can claim to be a Catholic if they go along with the rainbow agenda.
@@vaskylark I applaud anyone who openly sticks to their beliefs, regardless of the outcome. Too many people are going along with this BS just to not make waves. Sorry, but waves need to be made. In fact, this person should have filed a lawsuit against the company for wrongful termination.

We ban racism against blacks, Jews, Hispanics don't we? We ban sexism against women. We can't ban racism against whites and sexism against men? Or are you saying colleges should be able to teach Nazi or Klansmen ideology? I'm very libertarian John but I'm still a conservative. I want people treated the same by the government.
The government (and most of our institutions) is controlled by one of those groups (actually a small subset of a group) you mentioned. That goes a long way towards explaining why you can't ban racism against whites, as well as why the current administration likes using the "white supremacy" narrative so often.
We don't have the luxury of pretending everything is or should be fair and equal. That attitude is an automatic loss and is currently losing against the tyranny of leftism. We have seen the horrors they have created. The millions of aborted babies, the family unit destroyed, the messing with and indoctrination of kids, degeneracy of the worst kinds with delusions that they have the gall to demand acceptance for, the reason for marriage all but taken away, the quality and attitude of women at all time lows. We must go scorched earth against such evil, it must be stamped out totally and at all costs.
It has been said that you can judge a nation by the quality of the food and the women. I would add litter and rampant crime that is not being addressed to that list.
We fail spectacularly on all points.
In the woke ideology everything boils down to a power struggle between identity groups. Whites are at the top of the power pyramid and the most oppressive. So, because you are "punching up" you can't be "racist" to whites. You may abuse them at will. Once the Marxist utopia is achieved everyone will then be equal. Sounds insane? That's because it is.
Actually, *assuming* the ideologies are not allowed to opressively fester like the Marxist and related ideologies, colleges *absolutely* would be the place to have them taught. In an ideal situation, college is where ideas are battle tested against logic in lieu of lacking evidence.
Besides, us not teaching these ideologies in a pure form has led us to some incredibly gross misunderstandings of them. A Nazi is a fascist, and a fascist is everything that conflicts with the what is in vogue. The Klan is also constantly blamed on Republicans, despite it never being the case.

God is not unconditionally in the rich man's corner, you ought to know.
(James 1:9-10) 'But the brother od humble circumstances is to glory in his high position, and the rich man in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.'
(5:1) 'Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries which are coming upon you.'
(5:5-6) 'You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.'
Yes, the last verse is also directed toward the careless rich. Obviously the righteous path is one of non-violence and longsuffering.

I really liked that you asked common objections to the conservative viewpoint rather than let the interviewee frame the topic and ramble on for 10min.The death threat thing, isn't new. In Canada people pull fire alarms. It's about shutting down the speaker we've even had speakers canceled because it wasn't "safe". Free speech and calling out this madness is the antidote. I liken it to that raving person you can only say "ok" to then walk away. In the past these people were safely ignored now they hold power.
These people are being paid 6 figures to change the spelling of words...
He should look into how these same Corps. are now allowed to funnel money to ESG organizations in lieu of paying corporate income taxes.
As always, great work.
The real problem isn't politicians, nor is it woke teachers. The problem is that many parents have offloaded their responsibilities and authority over their children to the state.
Be responsible for your children's education, and you will regain the authority over them. Until then, the school system will continue to feel justified in teaching whatever they want.
As Pastor Voddie Bauckham said, "We cannot continue to send our children to Caesar for their education and be surprised that they come back as Romans."
Disagree. The state didn't use to have these kind of powers and parents didn't create these new woke institutions. Governments did. Govts are now obsessed with becoming bigger and the only way they can do this is to create a problem, then pretend to sove it. Hence our modern western governments.
What are the lessons being taught that are counterproductive to people/children?
@@shawnpatton3795 Didn't you watch the video???
@@thomasecker9405 so did and it does not match reality.
This country is in for ugly times ahead.
Grab some beer and popcorn. What else can you do?
The problem is people stopped thinking for themselves and looking into things people were shouting at them and fell for the sound bites that have no substance behind them.
Straight-forward, good story. I am glad to see people standing up to the woke cult.
Public schools need to be abolished, 90% of the government needs to be abolished or extremely limited.
So what will the remaining 10% be? And who decides?
Sounds like a fascist dictator ship
If someone got in power and started dismantling government, Stossel would want to know where that kind of unchecked power might lead if it got in the wrong hands.
Get over that 10% hump and you'll be free! 😎👍
This is ridiculous. You mean to say all public schools should be abolished a.k.a poor kids shouldn't go to school. And 90% of the government needs to be abolished? Who will handle all those police officers, teachers, firemen, military, port officials, USDA, etc. We need to shrink government roles and civil servants yes. But we don't need to shrink it by 90% that's ridiculous. Who will control all the police, army force and so on? Somebody like Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos? Somebody you can never vote out. How is that a better alternative? We need more reform, we don't need the world to be in a state of anarchy.
I'm glad I'm able to hear about these people whom I've never seen or heard from before on this channel. Chris seems to be straightforward and transparent. Great job John! Always glad to see a new video from you.
I agree with alot, but i still think its creepy to have kids standing and holding signs, i dont care what side youre on, it just looks wrong.
Agreed
Not everyone can afford to leave the kids at home whether they need a babysitter or not. And I'm sure most like making their cause look like it has more support than it does.
Keep fighting John. Bigger. Bolder. Seek more ground!
Thank you, Stossel!!!
I’m with Rufo, the undermining of Americas teaching to children must be addressed and stopped
There's nothing worse than the teachers unions. Other than Joe Biden they are public enemy number 1.
This started on campuses. This is why no government funding should be going to college's .this is how we go back to teaching with logic and historical facts instead of one person personal opinions.. The trickle-down effect will help because, after all it was the woke trickle-down effect caused this to begin with .
That is where the Marxists and neo progressives infiltrated to start affecting the culture the most. And they have been systematic and patient about it. Just steadily placing their people into positions and pushing the agenda on people who showed little resistance. Now look where we are. DeSantis has put in very good common sense laws regarding higher education in Florida. He has seen to it that a lot of people pushing the agenda were taken OUT of the institutions. I hope other states will follow suit. We have to start ferreting out the DEI and ESG departments and putting Constitutionalists and people who love the country in to replace them. And laws that will hold that line. If we do that, we could right this ship. If you look into the laws that have been enacted in Florida over the last few years, it becomes more hopeful. We are not powerless. The press is not giving this nearly enough attention when it comes to the moves that have been made in Florida. Maybe it's because they don't want to seem to be supporting DeSantis's campaign for President. But the message needs to get out. There ARE things that we can do.
Thank you John Stossel for posting these great videos. You’re 20/20 segments live on.
The individual should be the authority. The state is a rotten, corrupt entity with no real accountability.
Love what Chris Rufo is doing. Looking forward to the full interview.
2:00 we had a rule like that at my company (very specialized engineering). Worse, because the "interview" process is about 8 hours as the candidates would meet with over a dozen people in a series of interviews. HR would always bring in a black woman, preferably checking a few other marginal boxes also (maybe queer or maybe disabled or maybe really old), who would be clearly unqualified and parade her thru the process and waste her day just to meet that silly woke requirement. Just before I left, they were talking about "righting the situation" by paying for the 8 hour day. Not all the candidates, just the "quota eligible" candidates.
When common sense requires courage, something's wrong...
we have to push back against groomers. I have no patience for them.
Wow, sanity is speaking up... finally!
I myself live in Pennsylvania and in my neck of the woods, the fact of the matter is that few school boards are considering what parents want. Rather they are invested in national education groups/trends...only taking parents into account when they push back.
Bless him. Woke must be dismantled for the common good step by step, starting with the schools
Woke = Anti-white Racism.
DeSantis and the Florida legislature have had some very good laws put in place. Especially regarding college accreditation, removing DEI departments, and performance levels for tenured professors. I feel hopeful that other states may begin to follow suit.
What's the matter with people today?
Evil grows as population grows. Institutions create the current thing to discuss in society
I walked through a part of a california campus - you should see all the departments within departments (this is a huge part of why college costs have kept rising over the years, becoming completely unaffordable without grants and loans).
Then look at what all these essentially middle managers do - sit and dream up ways they can "make a difference" or all the myriad progressive catch-phrases.
The vast majority of it are attempts at being relevant or self-importance, but a lot of it is narcistic.
Once again, Thank you for putting great videos out and informing the public.
Love this guy who is a voice of truth and reason
I would like to believe that school boards and parents with a say could make the education system worthwhile, but here in Florida it took a politician, Governor Jeb Bush to pass school choice which made our school's a thousand times better. My wife and I moved to Florida and had children in 1997 and by the time the children were ready for school we were ready to home-school them because the schools were so bad. Jeb Bush and school choice change that. Our local school went from having an f grade to receiving an a grade and our children ended up with excellent education student charter schools. Thank you Governor Bush.
In order to be less white, I am learning Jive. Yo! What up Sucka!!! Solid!
Make sure you get familiar with the N word! Gots to work dat into da lingo!
Jive turkey
You ain't playin now. Know what am sayin?
Way to go Mr. Rufo! Bravo! Keep spreading the truth. At least some people will hear it!
Thank you for the work you are doing Chris!
We all need to stop being quiet
Florida's policies are designed to give power back to parents, although Stossel appears to indicate the opposite. For the first time, parents will be able to have access to all of the lesson content that their children are using, including books in the library. With that access they will have an informed voice in school programs, along with the ability to raise any objections they may have.
Bureaucrats will do what they do, because they need to keep their jobs.
My daughter is a New College student, thank you Rufo for trying to fix this for our kids.
Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one. Charles Mackay, L.L.D... thanks Chris for showing us the way out of this mess
John, even if parents have a choice many times they don't know that this crap is going on.
That's the parents fault. Disinterested and detached parents deserve what they get.
@@fishroy1997 I agree that it is partly the parent's fault, but what do you expect them to do? Anyone voicing a dissenting opinion is made to look like a hate monger. Someone like Chris is there to help raise a dissenting voice.
Because government is so locked into the school system, anyone attending those schools must adhere to one political view or another. MY kids, however, are NOT locked into that system and are homeschooled. Both sides can shove it.
Both sides? This is a fight of good vs evil. If you don't understand how stopping the people messing with kids is a good thing, there is no hope for you.
