The fact checkers said “well ACKSHUALLY she was arrested for criminal trespassing”. What they didn’t mention in the headline was the criminal trespass resulted in her refusing to leave after being told to put on a mask or leave. So yes, she was arrested for not wearing a mask, just not in the very specific way they said.
I tend to agree with the trespassing. While I think the mask rule is stupid, the restaurant has a right to their property and their rules as long as they are not being discriminatory. The law doesn't force you to wear a mask, but it also doesn't protect you if you refuse to leave someone's property

Honestly, I believe the media swing left because left=change. Conservative, by definition, means status quo. The left is the opposite to that, and that means change. They feel it is improvements, but that is simply a matter of opinion. The point is, though, that status quo is not news worthy. Change is something to talk about. Therefore media is, by default, going to be left leaning, because they report on things that are out of the normal/constant. The real issue is that the media today is MAKING the news. By saying they are unbiased, but actually not reporting in an unbiased way, they sway public opinion to support the minority viewpoint. This then turns a small, local and rare event into looking like something 50% of the people support. That then gets more people to believe in that minor viewpoint and thereby making it into an issue that comes up more and more. It gives them more to report on. They create more of the news they report on. The media is the real problem, not because they lean left, but because they aren't told what they are doing is wrong.

Do you one better, i shared a little meme that basically said "we cant cure cancer or hiv after all this time but if Bidens elected hell instantly find a vaccine?" Not exactly that at all but thats the idea, it got FACT CHECKED by FACEBOOK, and said it was MISLEADING, because "while theres no cure for cancer, there are treatments, like CHEMOTHERAPY" LIKE YAH, WE KNOW, CHEMO KILLS MORE THAN CANCER DOES, THATS NOT THE POINT! Its wild.
It’s the rules of the school
Michael Alber no wonder you’re like this today
Michael Alber what kind of history do they not teach you?
A bomb exploded in Times Square.
Media: The city has fierce fires but mostly peaceful.
TheVideomaker2341 This isn’t an accurate analogy. First of all, let’s agree that when it comes to the total city area, of New York, it’d be 100% accurate to say the city is mostly peaceful if only one bomb exploded in Times Square. So if it’s a truthful statement, why would it not be appropriate to say that? Because the rest of the city was never in question if you’re talking about Times Square, so it makes it sound as if you’re downplaying the seriousness of the issue. (Your analogy is actually exactly analogous to saying White Lives Matter or All Lives Matter in response to Black Lives Matter. The fact of the statement is not in question, but you sound like you’re downplaying the actual subject being discussed.)
Compare and contrast to a scenario where someone is asking whether or not there have been more bombs set off in the city. Now it would be appropriate to say, “No, there hasn’t been more bombs, the city is mostly peaceful aside from this incident.”
So why is it appropriate for journalists to state the fact that the protests are mostly peaceful? That’s right, it’s because it is in question whether or not they are peaceful or if most of the protestors are there to incite violence or not.
There is a running narrative you will see even in this comment section that most of the protesters are violent, when the facts on the ground are that they are mostly peaceful with a few hooligans *on both sides* hijacking and taking advantage of the opportunity to stoke division and hatred.
Most people don’t have a nuanced understanding of politics because they only listen to one news source and can’t look at things objectively or from more than one side. It’s important to find that nuance when it comes to controversial subjects like this. Controversy doesn’t happen spontaneously, it’s because two side have a different understanding of the facts, and it’s important to understand where all sides are coming from.
I grew up reading The NY Times and watching CNN ...I now have gotten rid of both,so blatantly and disgustingly biased towards the Left.
"Mostly peaceful ", "Slightly violent " these inaccurate descriptions serve to mislead common people.
I for one am sick of propaganda "news".
Propaganda to Americans is like water to fish. Ever since Operation Mockingbird, the CIA has controlled the news media.
@@psychegoddessoflight9358 what exactly is propaganda
John, keep up the great work. I've followed your entire career and you are certainly one of the very best in media.
The morning of Sept 11th, 2001 was mostly boring.

Weatherman in Hiroshima after the bomb hits: "The day was partly sunny and mostly peaceful".
Love the way you tell it like it is. Been watching you since I was a child, you are still the man!
This is a common tactic. If you say it enough people will believe it
Exactly the same here in Australia. It’s been going on for years getting worse every day.

Saying that the Protests were “Mostly Peaceful” is like a woman saying she’s a little bit pregnant.
More like "he's just a friend, don't worry"
Or a cheater that he was "mostly" faithful.
You're completely illogical, false analogy. A better analogy would be "93 percent of the forest didn't burn down". The few bad apples should be tried as individual. Authoritarian clowns are pushing for the suppression of free speech just like Occupy Wallstreet. Fishing for likes from similar minded people?
@@samuelbekele3601 Simpleton, the movement itself is violent. It's an authoritarian Marxist organization, and the leaders in Chicago and elsewhere endorse looting and rioting. Ignorant idiot.
@@dereksbooks You're projecting, the motto, movement, and organization are three different things. You're the one who is oversimplifying this. Do you think the first amendment should be restricted once again?

Ikr. I laughed my ass off back when Hillary said "go to my website for fact checks"
This video helped red-pill my mom. Thank you, for all your work, John!!!

At this point, I don’t believe there are any undecided voters. Those on the left, and those on the right, are dug in, no debate or news story is going to sway anyone’s opinion. it’s turned into a giant shit show, and condoning riots and attacking police is never acceptable, who could have predicted the public would not take to them favorably? When I was in school, long, long ago, we had to read Orwell’s 1984. I thought it was the most boring book I’d ever read! But now, now I know why it was required reading.

It cracks me up, and saddens me at the same time when I see fires in the background and the reporter states "peaceful protest."
IT'S NOT! THERE'S LITERALLY A FIRE BEHIND YOU SET BY ONE OF THE PROTESTORS!

How about Trump receiving his THIRD Nobel Peace Prize nomination?

This content like yours is deeply needed in Brazil. With CNN getting more and more popular and traditional journalism shifting towards opinion journalism in here, we're destined to the same abysm.
My mom always felt that one of the reasons why the media swings left is because FDR bailed them out in the 30's and 40's.
The media is still pissed off over WW2 restrictions that kept them from leaking information to the world about Allied military operations.
I just came here to read "mostly" all the comments
~ Mr. Stossel....you should have been the moderator for the debate between Trump and Biden. *You are truly an honorable journalist and probably a great moderator.* My hat off to you.....
