I appreciate how you edit your videos to include what the prairie, gardens, containers or trees looked like in another season. I fi nd that really helpful in making decisions about how my garden will look seasonally. I know that takes effort and time on your part. Thank you!
Thank you so much for recognizing that Cindy! I really appreciate it. And I feel it is very important to consider more than just one season when you’re considering different trees and plants!
Thank you Dawn for using proper grammar instead of slang in your videos. I am so tired of listening to gardeners using “I got” instead of “I have.” Speaking correctly does matter. It certainly makes your videos more enjoyable to the viewer. You present beautiful videos each time.💙🦋💙🌻💙🦋🌻
Thank you Kimberly!! I’m excited to see that shade garden progress too! I will definitely keep you posted and do updates, especially starting in spring!
Dawn, living in zone 9b in CA I enjoy your tours for the difference your climate and growing season brings to your gardens. I especially liked the ornamental cabbages! I know you must spend a lot of time with working, designing and upkeep with your gardens. Thanks for sharing!
I love seeing your tours. Beautiful this fall. I may have to watch it again to make sure I didn’t miss something! The grass on the prairie was just glowing. ❤
I'd love to see a video showing the support system you used for the Annabelle hydrangeas. I need to do something and would love to see what works for you.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll add it to my list of future video ideas. I would look back and see if I can find any photos of it before the hydrangeas grew into it. If I could find the photo, I will post it on my Instagram and Facebook page.
Love using cabbages in the fall containers too. Been looking for the almost all white cabbages but no luck. guess I'll have to grow them myself next year \. Thank you
Yes! Super easy from seed but I had to grow them under grow lights in the basement in summer as it was too hot in the greenhouse and outside they got cabbage worms. 😳
Really spectacular! Hadn’t caught one of your videos in a while. They really provide a major dose of inspiration when my gardening enthusiasm and energy begins to flag. Thank you.
It’s all so beautiful. I love your prairie and those grasses around the patio were gorgeous. Also love how you use your green house and the view of the prairie out the back of it is magical. I live in a very different climate with very different native flora so seeing yours is like a fairy tale.
Hi Dawn! Each season in your gardens brings unique beauty and looks so very different. I’m not sure if you called the tree with berries some type of Crabtree; but when you inserted the picture of it snow covered, it almost took my breath away! Love your estate finds and they are perfect in your space. I haven’t thought about growing ornamental cabbage from seed; where did you purchase them and what variety are they? I would like to try that as ornamental cabbage is always part of my winter garden. Thank you as you always inspire me with your talent and ability to make everything beautiful.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour Janice! I purchased the ornamental cabbage seeds online at Johnnys and they are the Pink and Red Crane variety. They do really well for me and I find they are pretty easy to start from seed! Give it a try but give yourself at least three months from seed to plant planting out in a container so they have a nice size. Thank you for your continued support my UA-cam friend!
What a beautiful property, your containers and grasses are stunning. Especially love your greenhouse, decorated so beautifully. Does your gardenia survive thru winter and come back each spring? It looks so healthy!
Yes with lots of work. It gets sprayed off with Captain Jack’s dead bug brew before it comes into the greenhouse where it will stay until probably the end of December and then I need to bring it into my house. I have always put it into my basement with grow lights for winter, which is January February February, March, and back out into the Greenhouse in April. However, this year I had to pot it up into a larger container and I’m honestly not sure it will be able to the basement! Unfortunately, our winters get too cold in the evenings for me to keep it out in the greenhouse.
@@SeasonalDesignsbyDawn thanks for the information, so kind of you to respond! I do have a small greenhouse, but also too cold in winter months here in southern Indiana, I will try to keep it going in basement with lights as you have. Yours is amazing!
Your garden is always so lovely, no matter what the season! Really good planning! I have been looking for the round metal band structures that are in your urns, but don't know where to find them, or even what they are called. Could you help me out with this? I would love to make holiday arrangements with them! Thank you!
Hi Dawn! 👋🏼 The fall interest in your garden is just gorgeous ! Thanks for sharing. Also really enjoy when you take us into your greenhouse…just love how you’ve styled it. At 8:45 on the side table with the 2 lamps & succulents…what plants do you have in the tall center vase? Are those all natural dried flowers and stems? Just love it! 😍
@@SeasonalDesignsbyDawn Oh wow…gorgeous faux flowers…thanks Dawn! I struggle to find ones that look more realistic. Which store do you buy yours from or do you purchase them online?
@@jaisarowe5285 you really have to search around. But I typically find my best ones at Hobby lobby. Good luck. Hope you find something.!
I just love your gardens, I have a question about the grass planted around your patio in the back. Do you ever have to divide them, I think you said they were in there for several years.
Dawn, what is the vine with orange berries in your urns? Bittersweet? Where did you get it? I’m looking for the non invasive variety. Thanks. Everything is beautiful.
Gorgeous garden , so enjoy your tours Towards the end you were in garden across from your house , shade garden ? Near the red bench , you commented on ared plant beside the hellobore and Japanese forest grass . I could not catch the name. I heard “ Modena” but sure I am incorrect ! Could you please tell what the red plant is. Thank you P.S how I would love to join you and your gardening group in your greenhouse , magical !! 😊
