There wasn't much TF2 footage in this one so I will describe some TF2 gameplay for you:
Demoman from TF2 does sticky jumo into mid of Harvest and gets and airshot onto an enemy Soldier who is rocket jumping past. Demoman from TF2 lands on Harvest shack and sees a Heavy on point and lands 3 crisp direct hits onto him with his Iron Bomber. Demoman from TF2 drops down onto the point and whips out his pan to kill a Scout who is charging him but is already low. Demoman from TF2 frantically reloads his grenade launcher and places some traps at each door just in time for the next wave of enemies. He sees a Pyro and Medic heading his way but his Spyder senses are tingling and he turns around just in time to see a Spy, arm in the air ready to strike. Demoman from TF2 hits him with the one two, a grenade and pan around the face and the intuitively right clicks to detonate his trap right as the Pyro is over it. Demoman from TF2 is low on health now so makes a hasty escape to a near by health pack. He sees more team mates arriving at the front line and so decided so push up ahead. With his health topped up, Demoman from TF2 does a sticky jump. onto the enemies roof and sees a bundle of enemies leaving spawn and so starts to rain down hell onto them. Demoman from TF2 suppressing half the enemy team but notices in the corner of his eye an enemy sentry gun inside their building. Demoman from TF2 takes a few steps back and starts to reload ready for his next attack when suddenly an Trolldier lands next to him. He feels it's appropriate to taunt and so he holds out his hand and the Soldier clasps it and they bang heads. It was a wonderful moment amidst the chaos. As the Soldier jumped away again, Demoman from TF2 spun back around and shot 4 grenades towards the Sentry nest, perfectly angled into the sky to rain back down on the buildings. Demoman from TF2 charged in shooting stickies at the floor to finish any stragglers. The engineer was hidden in a corner with his feet up sipping a drink. Demoman from TF2 paused. Hey lay the 5 last stickies he had at his feet and slowly walked up besides him. An enemy Heavy walked around the corner and was confronted by the strange scene. The Heavy looked down, then up again. Demoman from TF2 right clicked.

i started playing valorant with some of my college classmates last year and one of them created a new account and deleted his old one to play with us. he tried self imposing some restrictions to make it fairer for the other team, but he was way to good. he once did an ace just with the starting pistol. to this day he keeps avoiding getting into higher ranks to play with us

I think it is probably more likely with team-based games, simply because the skill of your allies is so impactful. I mainly play support in DOTA, and that role is a force multiplier. If I have a string of games where people don't know how to take advantage of my support (I swear that half of the camps I stack go to the other team), then it can feel incredibly frustrating.

    • @ieuanhunt552
      @ieuanhunt552 10 місяців тому +1

As long as you are winning more than 50% of your games the MMR is doing it's job. That's assuming you are being honest and you are as good as you say you are.
And yes it's frustrating when you lose 6 games in a row. But you were probably ignoring last week when you were on a hotstreak and won 8in a row. And maybe 2 of those wins you were carried.
And I speak from experience because i played League of Legends for a few years as a Support/Jungle main. Peaked at high Platinum. Bad allies are frustrating. But Rolling over Bad opponents is equally if not more satisfying.

Smurfs can have trouble just finding the ability to play the game in the first place, since some matchmaking systems won't place high ranks into even just a bracket or two below their rank, meaning they can't even get a match sometimes, or if they do it ends up being in a server miles out of their region and their ping skyrockets.

I'm not surprised that the first booster you talk to immediately says "oh I only boost because everyone else is doing it! I had no choice!!!" That is the most basic and, as the kids would say, "copium filled" excuse that all boosters, smurphs, cheaters, and unsportsmanlike players say with all games. It's trying to pass the blame to someone else in an attempt to not take responsibility for their actions so they don't have to think about what they're doing beyond "I get what I want, therefore my actions are correct".

Genshin Impact is a bit of an interesting case in terms of boosting, as it has a feature that allows for doing it completely legally. No sharing the account, just use the Co-Op system. The only limitation is that the person that wants to join needs the have the same world level (basically difficulty of the game linked to an experience system) as the host... or higher. And of course a level 80 character would decimate enemies at level 30 in the world of the boosted player.
Though, Genshin is a single player/co-op PVE, so boosting can't hurt the enjoyment of the other players. And unfortunately, it might be sometimes even necessary, as it is possible to lock yourself at a higher difficulty than your party can deal with. (speaking from experience) ...And farming domains or bosses can honestly be annoying anyway (screw the Geo Hypostasis!)

7:00 I'm pretty sure that's still called "carrying" in the MMO scene, a high level character runs you through a low-level dungeon. IDK, I just remember in WoW either BC or Wrath I knew it was called that back then, before there were loot (or was it exp? exp isn't really the point of dungeons, it's the the rare loot) penalties for that sort of thing. Also before level syncing was a thing. Some MMOs sync you down in instanced content with a level range lower than your level these days.

honestly i feel smurfing is way way worse.
at least with a boosted account it can seem like the player is just having an off day, we all have those moments where our skill just flies out the window for no reason.
with a smurf account it's just constant stomps, it's arguably just as unbalanced, but it feels way better to kill a weak player than it does dying to a stronger one, especially when it's clear they shouldn't be at that rank.
though i'll admit my bias also stems from those stupid "noob to diamond rank" videos which just causes an influx of bored tryhards ruining casual games.

Would have loved to get an insight into Clash Of Clans boosting. There's a lot of boosting going on, it's very easy to buy accounts, but you don't really ruin the game for others, just for yourself. Minimaxing also used to be a fun little hobby in Clash Of Clans, in stead of straight up boosting.

What I hate about this is the use of Min-Maxing.
It feels like it is done this way to trick people who know traditional meanings.
Proper Min-Maxing is, for example, lets say you can get a max health of 100 and enemies can do a max damage of 24. You only need 97 health to survive an additional hit, so you can put those 3 health points into something else.

So the TF2 population is so low that now every game has 2-3 cheaters (not bots), imagine water and sand in a glass. Water is TF2 general pop legit players, sand is cheaters. Lots of water = you don't notice the sand as much. Maybe 1-2 cheaters out of 7 servers. Now in Nov 2023 there seems to be little "water", and now you notice the "sand" ALOT more. Make a vid on it. "Lmaobox cheater que" feature is what's causing a lot of this. It allows cheaters to join other matches that lmaobox users are in, like joining a match from your friends list. But it's strangers who also are using lmaobox, they stop votes kicks for each other and troll and lie in chat to cover for each other. Even Uncletopia usually has 1-3 cheaters per server, no one seems to care because most are sus anyways. Why would you kick one of your own kind? Someone on youtube made a video "LMAObox review" and it talks more about the feature and other things about the cheat. With Smissmass on the way it's going to be fucking awful between the incoming smissmass bots and the mass amount of cheaters now.

Boosting can be an issue with PvE games where the booster pays or cheats to skip the grind, and then have everything unlocked. They have the great idea of jumping into high(est) difficulty games without learning how things work, and end up being dead weight for the team or even a detriment since most PvE games get harder when there are more players.

Basically i have 700-800 trophies on characters i like playing
But since the elo is counted per character that means i have to constantly play low elo characters to progress BUT at thoose levels the teammates are horrible
And i do mean HORRIBLE they usually throw the entire game or stall it unreasonably so most of my games on lower trophies are WAY harder than at the insanely high ranges. And i only have so much time till i need to get off the bus so theese factors make lower rank gameplay unenjoyable
