Great review. Just a small point on the rear bulkhead; I’ve got a Jimny commercial, and at 6ft I couldn’t get comfy but you can move the top cage back by around 100mm as there are additional fixing holes for the mounting bars. The lower half of the bulkhead can be unbolted from the top half, but I modified this (removed the lower fixing brackets) so that it fits neatly underneath the repositioned grill.
So, did you or didn't you get comfortable in the end? Modern cars are made for midgets unfortunately, it's always a big issue if you can fit in them or not.
I remember in the US they were called Samurai. One of my bosses had one and he loved his. It was easy to customize with big tires and he had a lot of fun going through the creeks and back woods with his. The main reason that they didn't last here is they were known for Rolling Over; more so than the Jeep CJ's. I always liked them; but, I wouldn't buy one because I spend a lot of time on highways and need the power and safety that SUZUKI just can't deliver. As always, stay happy healthy and safe.Enjoy.
Ordered mine 2 months ago! Coming next week 😂👌❤️ Reason because they had the old radio back in instead of the newer digital screen is because they are out of raw material to make that radio 😅.
Another awesome review again here Tish! The Jimny is an absolute classic of an off-roader! Really rugged and tough as nails! Keep up the fantastic work-rate! Looking forward for the next episode! 🙌🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Awesome video Tish, the Jimny really is an unassuming car, where the off-road capabilities are concerned anyway. Yes the commercial vehicle angle was the cheapest way for Suzuki to go but I hope in the near future they make an electric⚡️ version and bring it back to being a 4 seater, because I would hate to see this cute little car disappear from our shores in 2030 (unless being commercial it gets to stay a little longer than normal cars?)
Back in the 60s lots of people bought vans instead of cars too get round purchase tax and then had Windows put in the sides and a back seat installed, there were firms who specialised in these conversions. I noticed that windows had been left in the sides rather than metal panels, which presumably would have been cheaper to make. Wouldn't be surprised if Suzuki starts offering a rear seat and seatbelts as a day conversion kit. What goes around comes around. Great little car and review.
Great review Tish. I love these, and you answered my only question, which was regarding the seat travel. Seems it has the same issues as the old Defender 90 commercials. The strangest thing about these, given the amount of demand, is that Suzuki didn't re-engine them with a more emissions compliant power train.
@@AutoSocialUK They just told the truth about emissions, as opposed to lie like many others. If the jimny won't pass then no current Landrover product could, just look up the numbers!
Unrelated issue. I drive an Mitsubishi Pajero sport with 60 000km’s driven. Shortly after a service my handbrake dash warning light came on. I took it to a Mitsubishi service a dealership. They assessed it and reported that my handbrake linings are worn completely and metal on metal. They charged me $160 for checking and then more than $500again for replacing the handbrake linings. They also warned me not to use my vehicle until they replaced the parts that took 7 days. I contacted Mitsubishi complaints and head office for clarity on this. It seems they don’t check hand brake linings on services and it is OK for them if one break down at an inconvenient time with worn handbrake linings. Even though my vehicle is only on 60 000km’s and it is not expected for hand brake linings to fail so early they refuse to explore it any further than me paying twice to have my linings replaced. They also also have no answer whatsoever when I asked, how do I prevent this in the future…so if you drive a Mitsubishi you can’t rely on dealership services to warn you prior to having you breaking down and having to pay twice for something that can be fixed at services. It seems like checking the handbrake linings yourself is the only option. I think this is appalling from Mitsubishi.
reason for the lack of 6th gear is because this vehicle never comes with a powerful engine..it comes with a very LIGHT engine with just enough power to move its own weight of the vehicle to make it through the offroading fun stuff really.
Nice review, seems like the closest thing that I could buy to the basic ethics of my WW2 jeep. simple and down to earth. I own a Swift Sport(non hybrid 1.4 turbo) and I'm sure reliability will be bullet proof, but don't know what gear I'm in?

Although Suzuki has pulled out in the USA, but this car is a great, fun car. SUVs and crossovers are on the rise; the Jimny is a good combo where it is a SUV, yet with the compactness and efficiency for the city.
It pulled out of the US and A in 2013, but after 2013, they introduced some cool Suzuki’s eg the Ignis, Swift, Jimny and Vitara. Doug DeMuro reviewed a Jimny which was borrowed from someone who lives in Mexico, and at the end, Doug gave it a 49/100.

the only bad thing about the jimny is the gvm which is stupidly low and pretty much renders it useless for off road touring

1 vote for Tish & Jimny off road!
Lets make it happen!!
Yes
Babe, even with a carriage pulled by a half naked horse, as long as I travel with you. We can go everywhere, everywhere we go, it will be sunshine in paradise and we’ll lip-sync all the way towards the sunset! Jimny? Oh hell yeah!
This did make me laugh!
@@AutoSocialUK woman! you better not be laughing on my jimny. Oh no no no.
If it was going in your name they should have stood by their word , just shows you what company you’re working for look elsewhere as you are a brilliant presenter and review all the vehicles with a independent viewpoint
This is a 2-seater Jimny😉👍
Away from the Jimmy topic; are/will you be doing a AM DBX review?
Wow, I would love to one day!
Did “commercial” get autocorrected to “comical” in the video title?
Hahahahha certainly did
@@AutoSocialUK I thought it was just one of those quirky names like the Mazda Bongo Friendee!
jimny is super. car business in u.k. was afraid and they made jimny a comercial car.
You're correct there John
I will buy one if its electric
How much?
So brand new they are just under £18,000 - however pre-registered ones are demanding £25,000+
I believe there were issues with the engine. Emmisions .... It was taken off sale shortly after release.
I think everything in the Suzuki range is hybrid now?
Not quite yet! They borrowed some power trains from Toyota to help with their compliance!
