As someone who dabbles in remixing and arranging and also loves the soundtracks of both Sonic CD and the 8 bit Sonic games, I have to say this track is a banger. Hats off to you man.
Thank you so much!! A funny thing about this remix is: I have a friend who love Sonic 1 8bit and Sonic CD JP ost. And it was his birthday and I wanted to do a sonic 1 8bit remix in Sonic CD jp style. I tried the Scrap Brain, but I could not make it work, i did not liked the result. So i end up making sonic 2 8bit instead, and he liked a lot the result, i was very happy. It was in 2015 if i remember correctly. It was before i played Sonic 2 8bit i think! I only knew the ost because naofumi and masafumi worked on it haha eventually my friend convinced me to play Sonic 1 8bit and 2 8bit and i actually loved the games!
What sonic 2 level are you talki- oh that sonic 2 the 8 bit one.... WOAH WHAT THIS AINT OFFICIAL??? THIS IS SO GOOD. You literally made a version of a game I hated and their song into a song I love (your remix). I swear if you was hired in 2012 by Sega your music would be so good they would have made R2 complete.
Do you ever think we’ll get to see a behind-the-scenes look at your music? I’m trying to learn remixes in FL studio, and sadly, I haven’t a damn clue where to start in terms of making it sound “CD” like.
Unfortunately right now I have been focused on a project called Sonic 2 Complete, that's why I have not been posting much :( But one day I'm planning on doing tutorials on how to recreate Sonic CD JP songs in FL studio, I think maybe it could be useful for you! I will consider one day doing a remix and record the whole process and publish, however sometimes those remixes needs days to be done. My Stardust Speedway mashup for example, I have worked on that for various days, so the video would be extremely long, but i will consider it, thank you!
Woah, i'm surprised you catch it! Indeed, that part where the piano is with a pad and is getting higher, I took this idea from Nights and Reala song! Although if i remember correctly, I did my own sequence instead of copying!
I have worked with music for SEGA for a while in the 90's, that explains! Nah i'm joking, sorry lol but let me tell you: i have a huge passion (maybe obsession?) by sonic cd jp soundtrack. Without this soundtrack, maybe I would not even be a musican. I wanted to study, to understand why this soundtrack is so good, why the sounds are so beautiful. I mostly started working with music, like doing remixes and stuff because I wanted to reach that quality, to make things sounds like sonic cd, to copy that style. Although I have never managed to make original songs that sounds like sonic cd, i'm still very satisfect with the restorations and some of those remixes, such as this one. Also, you never found me before because i was somehow keeping in secret all those remixes. Various of my remixes, and even some of the restorarions, were supposed for a cancelled 32x CD sonic project i had, and i personally do not like to release any info about my projects until they're fully completed, except when they're cancelled, which is the case of the Ristar CD. Right now for example i'm working on a project called Sonic 2 complete, and i'm also not releasing anything about it, but at least this one i'm very optimistic i will finish! That's also the reason I have not been posting new remixes for a while. Anyway, thank you so much for your comment ^^
Do you have an extended version of this? Also, would it be okay if I used this in a project I'm working on? It's really amazing! It sounds like it's actually from Sonic CD, it's crazy!
The only alteration I would probably make would be making the intense part in one of Metallic Madness "B" Mix's synths in the same pitch as the original rather than using Metallic Madness' orchestral hits.
Tentei fazer uma música com em estilo mega drive e sega CD no fl Studio mas eu desinstalei porque não sou em fazer música eu tentei fazer uma música e ficou muito ruim

This sequence I done in the intro was based in the end of Scrambled Eggs, and I added it to the start because I wanted to imitate the intro orchestra hits from Metallic Madness present/past.
