People say Kambli was a victim but he was given several chances for a comeback in ODI matches. Test matches it was difficult for him to get back in with dravid and ganguly arriving. He failed to capitalise on those chances managing just 2 fifties, one against zimbawe and one against pakistan. His fielding and fitness was also questionable.

No doubt, Vinod kambli was very talented batsman but seemed little bit care less about his career.Using ear ring didn't suit him .Infact he looked funny with his ear ring.He began his career with two double hundred.But his failure with ear ring used to irritate the selectors more than usual.Sachin tried his lavel best n provided him opportunity but ...but failure with fun added more to his bad luck.In short he didn't do what he could do easily to preserve n progress his career.

He watched sachin from 10-15 and kambli from 15-18 or 19...even during that 664 partnership, sachin was 14 year 10 month while kambli was well past 16...at that age of kambli, sachin was hitting sixes against abdul qadir in pakistan & scored 16 ball 50 in an unofficial match😅
