I have an erratic bowling history. League when i was 18, then didn't bowl much for years. In 2006 i bought a Columbia EPX-T1 and it cracked in half about the 10-12th time i used it. Now im 42, with a screwed up body and UGLY throw....but started bowling with a house ball several months ago. Just settled on the 2.0 Hybrid Monday. Bowled 3 games the day i got it... and REALLY liked it. Everyone says don't get a strong ball. My local guy, the guy in KC i bought from (AMAZING guy, wonderful service and super helpful- Total Bowling Gear in Overland Park, KS) and most professionals i watch on UA-cam. I never could throw a wicked back and forth hook...this ball has already helped me make some beautiful, and brutal strikes....can't wait to get back to the lanes...
Who would’ve known I wanted to see these 2 balls be compared?! Great idea, great video!
Great comparison review! Love the unbiased info you provide.
Love this combo!! Keep doing what your doing!! LOVE IT
I really loved this review ! I have been looking at both of these balls. I already have a Super Nova that is REALLY strong so I think that the IQ Ruby would be a good complement to what I already have. The Black Widow might be to much over lap (strong) with my Super Nova. I bowl at Sawgrass by the way. Keep up the good work. I keep telling everybody to subscribe !
I really appreciate the support!
love my black widow 2.0. though it's overdue for a cleaning it still has a strong bite!
When are you doing black venom. Love to see it with Ambush and black widow 2.0 comparison
I think these pieces definitely complement each other. Ironically I use the original black widow and the IQ Tour Fusion 😎
I have the 2.0 hybrid and I love it the ball was designed for the lower Rev bowlers and since I got it my average has gone from 167 to 193 and as long as I keep the speed down it hits hard if I speed up it doesn't move much
A year later - IQ pearl still a solid choice in your opinion? I like how straight or angular it can be .
I like the comparison idea. Probably would of had a better look on the burn.
When you say stronger hand position??
I've got both of these in my bag along with the overseas Black Widow Domination solid and the red overseas vibe #AllRed
Good review! Can you do BW 2.0 Hybrid vs Brunswick Defender?
I'm a newbe seriously wanting that black widow 2.0 hybrid. My question though, since you said it's not an early ball. How would a venom shock do as an early ball and then transition into the black widow 2.0 hybrid?
2.0 Hybrid really shines once you have to start moving during transition. It's tough to keep it under control on the fresh. I can just pitch it out there later in the set and it'll come driving back. Ball is so continuous I love it. It is STRONG off the back though, so make sure you don't get it to the friction too quick, or it's gonna jump through the face on you. It likes to ride that oil down. You could definitely play further right (or left if you're a lefty) with the Shock, so I'd say start with your Shock and go to the 2.0 Hybrid once you start moving deeper.
i like your ball reviews and your bowling style im learning alot from new ball and being more knowledgeable and i been bowling since i was 8yrs old and i like your channel and i bought the Hammer Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid like a week ago i love back end balls cause im a cranker like Robert Smith way and E. J. Tacket and i think my next ball will be the Ruby
Thank you!!
You won’t be disappointed with the Ruby
The black widow sees friction and goes nuts. The ruby looks good, can I ask your opinion of the envision pearl as a step down to the BW 2.0. I actually thought getting another BW and putting a more control layout in it for later games. Thanks for the great videos
BW 2.0 hybrid is actually just nutty.
Pretty hard to tell much in any these vids when the ball gettin used is completley not right for the moment on the lanes. If you know you're doing this vid for example, can you talk to your house guys and come in maybe after senior league etc. w some transition? Even toasted lanes seem like a better option then fresh.
Noted Leo Nakamura cell because they're both not asymmetrical but honestly what asymmetrical ball in the storm's lineup would compare to the Black
The storm absolute. That video is on the way as well.
I only have a ruby, but when its super oily i cant get it to hook enough to the pocket. Ive been thinking about the black widow 2.0 hybrid for these situations. Not sure if thats a good idea, thoughts?
Ruby is going to be good once the lanes break down. The black widow depending on how you play and your rev rate is going to be stronger overall. This ball will have alot more back end. There's a guy in my league who had the same problem.
In the video you kept saying how the 2 balls compliment each other,. Can you elaborate on that?
It must be me, but I have the Widow drilled 65x3 7/8x 25, and I don't see a big change of direction downlane.... it's just strong and smooth... not exactly what I expected, not it's ok... I guess
Pretty strong pin position. But are you using it on fresh or on transition. If you bowl on heavy house shot it will look a little slower. But have you adjusted the surface at all?
I have used it sparingly at various centers but it just appears slow downlane and I have a Gem that I never wanted, but my friends thought would be perfect for me ( because they thought it would be so early it would roll like urethane....it didn't! It hooks so much more and faster off the spot (same layout) I have to find a place to use it. But back to the Widow, I am going to wait to see if it "wakes up", but if it doesn't it's still a great piece... just not what I was hoping for.
Can you do a video on how you change your hand position and control your speed?
Something I can put together, but to answer the question no I don’t have a video we’re I explicitly break that down.
@@TheHype-Bowling appreciate it I will be looking forward to it!
Not a fair comparison for one reason, Widow = STRONG asym while IQ is med sym and pearl vs hybrid. As you see here, the strength of the gas mask core is going to jerk the ball a lot harder while the mid diff and symmetry of the IQ will smooth the reaction. The widow's strength is it's continuation so it needs angle to play well but dumping it from river to desert in 2 ft doesn't count.
Entertainment…
Disagree. Anybody can read specs & postulate. I have the WHybrid & am considering the Ruby as a compliment. This comparison's exactly what I was looking for.. Keep rolling Hype👍
Compare the outer limits and the madness
@The Hype I am new to bowling. Pro shop had me get the Hammer RAW Hybrid. I also got the Black Widow solid from my dad (he had to bump down in weight so free ball).
My questions: I can control the RAW Hammer more than I can the Widow, but, the RAW Hammer breaks a bit early. It's almost like a nice rainbow when I roll rather than a mostly straight diagonal with a hook at the back end. I used the widow solid, but when bowling, it starts to hook earlier as time goes by. With the Hammer RAW Hybrid, I also have to move further left as time goes by.
Would the Widow 2.0 Hybrid be a good choice to use at that point? I am looking for a combo of the RAW and the Solid Widow.
I would try balls like the Brunswick attitude, Roto grip duo, or hammer scorpion sting to fill out your bag. You need something that compliments the bag. The widow hybrid is a lot more ball down lane than the other two.
@@TheHype-Bowling Ah, finding a ball to compliment the others makes sense. Is it just experience with these balls that allows you to put bags together, or is there a way I can learn?
🔥
But it's okay (damn spell checker!)
Always see the drill layouts but never see the weights of the ball. Is it safe to assume everyone is bowling a 16lbs ball?
15lbs pounds always.
Were both of the balls out of the box finish or what did you use?
Both balls are out of box.
Just getting started in bowling again. What does "low-end" ball mean?
A ball that hooks less. This ball will travel down the lane further than stronger balls that will hook sooner.
@BelieveTheHype-Ballreviews thanks for the explanation
That makes sense to me now
Would you say the hammer hybrid would be okay for a first time ball? I’ve been bowling for years with a house ball but looking to finally make my first ball purchase. Would this ball be too much?
This is a quantum leap from a house ball. I don’t suggest starting with it. Hustle usa, hammer raw, Columbia 300 messenger solid would be good balls to start with.
@@TheHype-Bowling great thank you!
To many excuses
Some days your not your best. 🤷🏾♂️
