    I'm replacing all 4 calipers on my 05 grand prix.. due I need to bleed my ABS brakes/system a certain way, prior to replacing my calipers and rotors

    • @klowny1969

      No..follow standard bleeding procedures. .thnx for watching

    • @fate2022
      @fate2022 4 роки тому

      haha, guess you figured this out by now, but no, you need a special tool to compress the rear calipers with abs.

  • @m_styles1981

    So you dont have to bleed the brakes

  • @trollaphobic
    @trollaphobic 10 років тому

    i got respect for you klowny, us mechanics have to stick together. but 2 things (and i don't mean to sound like an ass) 1.: the tab things are called ears. 2.: if a vehicle has ABS and you push the piston in without opening up the system the brake fluid will reverse flow thru the ABS module. This will damage it. Ive seen a bunch of people who do this then their ABS light comes on and they don't know why. open up the bleeder valve so the excess fluid being pushed back goes out the valve. you can always top off later. otherwise, good video mate

    • @spinhunt
      @spinhunt 10 років тому

      How do you open the bleed nut for the brake system?

    • @trollaphobic
      @trollaphobic 10 років тому

      It is litteraly just a nut on the caliper. When fully seated no fluid leaka thru. But when you losen it it allows the fluid to run. Simple wrench will do. Theres also several videos on here showin ya

    • @sherryruotsi5935
      @sherryruotsi5935 9 років тому

      thank you.. but i was almost happy that i didn't have to bleed my brakes. ..oh well.. fun to do by yourself. .lol

    • @trollaphobic
      @trollaphobic 9 років тому

      +Raymond Brandreth what are you talking about. You can totally open the system. As long as youre qualified and dont get air into the system everything will work fine.

  • @pauljustis2035

    To push cylinder in on back pads can you use a c-clamp like the front or do you need that rig that you ratchet in from your other video?Thanks

  • @brucemarion3613

    Looking to see if ya have a Vid on GP Pontiac , changing spark plugs - they look like a bear ie 2 , 4 , and 6 .My ole Ford or chevy , easy , just sit on fender well with ya legs down inside motor area[ on a 6 Cyl that is ].I've heard ? remove back motor bracket bolt-back car up [short distance ] and motor tilts UP ? easier to git back plugs , Not sure if that is true or not ??

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  9 років тому

      Yes that is true..move the car a little and then pull the e-brake

    OFF Brake subject , I replaced the air cleaner in this 2007 GP,then noticed check engine light was on ? On starting up , I had to play with throttle in order to get engine running , eventually it smoothed out ? Exh smelled RICH .Never had a vehicle go rich on changing an Air Filter ?? Any comments / advise ? thanks ............te

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  9 років тому

      Check to see if you accidentally unplugged a sensor. .like the air temp sensor for example

    • @tomepixel
      @tomepixel 9 років тому +1

      klowny1969 Is that the one located on the Intake tube , directly behind air filter ?? if so I checked it this am , seemed all snug . I don't have one of those gadgets to hook up to puter, suppose will have to consult a garage that has one ? thanks

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  9 років тому

      tomepixel yes thats the one..can also check to see if the intake is loose anywhere

    • @tomepixel
      @tomepixel 9 років тому

      klowny1969 OT I know but , I checked wife's car again, found a problem - the lge air intake plastic tube WAS broken on the bottom right where it attaches to Engine .Could not see it , I was feeling the tube , ah dern thing broken on bottom out of sight . Now , where would one look for another air intake tube ,without going to GM dealer ? Thanks

      DEADLY SMURF that depends..on sliders..yes i would clean and grease them..some pads have metal shims in the back..no need for antisqueal there..others dont, and u would need it...it all depends
