The iPad Air M2 13-inch is probably and should be your next iPad if you're in the market for a big screen iPad that is brand new. It performs just like any M2 iPad but just more affordable. You will lose out on ProMotion, FaceID, and Mini LED compared to an outgoing M2 iPad Pro, but hey, at least you're getting a landscape ultra-wide FaceTime camera, 600 nits of brightness on this bigger 13-inch M2 Air, and last but not least, Apple Pencil Pro support with squeeze functionality and barrel roll.

60 hz is fine not good not bad I hate that people are complaining about 60 hz on macbook air and ipad air
Im good w ipad air, especially now that its 13”…..It s a no brainer. And im still rockin ipad air 4 w my eyes on new air. I dont even use 120hz on my fold 5. Just one more thing that burns the battery. Angry fans can complain all day, just let em pay more. Win win
Hey, the difference isn’t that vast if you were not to compare it side to side and mind the screen size.. Having an android phone with 120Hz as my daily driver and an iPad 10th gen wasn’t suffocating at all, my exp.😅
@@skorpyo331 Tbf a pro motion display supports 1-120hz and is therefor actually battery saving as instead of constantly refreshing 60 times a second it can refresh at a rate as low as 1 time per second or up to 120 times a second depending on your need and it does all that fully automatic
Yes it’s almost perfect, the lack of 120hz display it’s a deal breaker for me . I would rather get a refurbished M2 iPad Pro
Mind you the 13 inch is thinner and lighter though which may be worth it for some people. Also support for pencil pro support as well, but yeah the m2 pro has its merits as well.
You can’t tell the difference
Same it’s a very good iPad but 60 hu is destroying everything
@@jlmonterrosa14 i thought you were replying to yourself until I realize your profile pictures are just similar
maybe you're not gonna use this ipad with another ipad with 120hz side by side right?
Good video, short and to the point with no BS.
I appreciate that!
Hey mate , I need your help , currently I need a device for high end video editing and managing my e commerce store , which one should I buy MacBook Air M1 or ipad air m2
Macbook
@@gamerdad08? MacBook Same Hardware 🤣 imao
Can I use 2nd generation apple pencil with this ipad? I can’t figure out how to use it.
No you can’t unfortunately. Have to go with Pencil Pro
The 13 inch iPad Air only has a two speaker audio system, not a quad speaker array. Nice video, I'm still undecided on what size better suits my needs.
Yes, I did confirm that with Apple. That's my fault! It still sounds amazing though, despite only having 2 speakers!
I bought the 13 inch 128 gb cellular and absolutely love it.
@@loz781all i need to here
Great intro. I fall into the first camp but I bought the M2 iPad Pro 12.9 new before the M4 version came out. I knew I could get the M2 cheaper with the discounts I had and that the difference in performance between it and the M4 version would hardly be obvious.
And thanks for not going down the “Don’t buy the iPad Pro. Get a MacBook instead” road. Both are viable devices for a variety of tasks. Subscribed! 👍
I have been carefully checking out my iPad Pro 2018 vs my Surface Pro 8 to find out which can be used fully away from my desk and at my desk. I use the Mac Mini at my desk. I am an artist so need sketching as well as productivity and entertainment. For sketching the Apple Pencil 2 very slightly edges out the Surface Pen though the surface Pen is fine. For productivity Windows on the Surface Pro 8 is light years ahead of iPadOS. Windows does it all while iPadOS does most things, some of them in an annoyingly clunky way. Great that iPadOS 18 will finally have external SSD formatting. I don't want to upgrade both since I only have time to use one most of the time. Likely will go with upgrading Surface Pro to 11 and upgrading iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2018 to iPad Air 11 inch to cover everything I do without overspending on an iPad Pro M4.
I think you will be happy with the Air 13” to be honest. You’re gonna enjoy using the new Pencil Pro for sketching. As more apps support it, you’ll be happy that you went this route later down the road.
Which one is better for School? (11 or 13 Inch)?
11ofc
Ipads have always been extraordinary/stunning.🧡....
But the newer ones with M series silicon is absolute no brainer for the purchase , as ipados 18 its gonna support -A. intelligence-🔥🔥 which is expected to roll out this fall 🍂
Obviously ago being so handsome can’t hurt with video calls right!! 🎉😊
I would really like to buy an ipad from you, if it is possible, at a low price, I really need it, for my studies
Have you used the pencil pro much with it? I'm considering getting an iPad Air (haven't had an iPad since a 2012 model), but I've read a lot of comments about overheating using the pencil, and that concerns me. I'd just be using a digital coloring app with that, and maybe some notes once in awhile.
Weird! Never ran into any issues using the Pencil Pro on either this Air or the M4 iPad Pro. I’ve only been using the app Lake with Pencil Pro and even at that, only for like 30 minutes.
@@HeyMarkL Thank you!
been dreaming of having ipad since i was 17 because of pro create, I wanted to use iPad for my digital artworks but, I am now 21, working my ass off but I still can't afford to buy one..HUHU
Have you considered a pre owned model? I have a iPad Pro (2018). It has the A12X Bionic chip but it would be a great bargain for someone looking for a pro model on a budget. It’s 6yrs old and it’s my daily driver. Love it 😊
My iPad is old. I have the iPad Pro 2020 is time new get a new one. Like Tech Gear Talk said on his video “Buy it nice or buy it twice” that is his slogan. Note: If I buy an iPad is going to be the Pro M4 model.
M4 iPad Pro is nice, I switched to it from M3 MacBook Air as a test. My thoughts on that iPad is coming soon! Give me a week or two :)
is 11 inch more than enough for all the tasks for a student (like note taking, article reading, research paper.. and so on.) or 13 inch is necessary?
11 inch it's perfect (I have the m1 pro)
Yes go for it
13 inch better
honestly you have to see both in person, I was about to get the 11 until I held both in hand and wanted the 13"
13 inch just way better
Which should buy ipad air 13 vs ipad pro m2 11 inch
Hard choice
iPad Pro doesn't have landscape camera, and is 12.9 inches. Also if buying apple certified you do get the same warranty and a new battery, also the exterior case is new so no imperfections, only the logic board is used and you get the same warranty as new and can get apple care.
What controller do you have while playing cod mobile? I am receiving my IPad today 13inch M2 and love cod mobile would love a controller though!
It’s a PS5 controller.
@@HeyMarkL thank you! Can it be wireless or does it need to be plugged in the IPad?
Can be via Bluetooth or plugged in :)
I have the M1 12.9" iPad Pro and that feels like a better device for me haha. This doesn't have Thunderbolt right?
It’s USB3 up to 10Gb/s and has DisplayPort capabilities for external monitor support. Not thunderbolt sadly!
@@HeyMarkLbut usb3 is still plenty fast for most people 😊
An apple
Former tech engineer told me it’s normal for the iPad to normally heat from everyday usage! Nothing wrong
I have m2 iPad Pro I gotta get fix but I ordered the air for a temporary tablet
Compared to iPad pro m2 13" which is just 200$ more u get
Downgraded GPU
LCD 60Hz instead of mini LED 120Hz with almost half the brightness
No face ID
2 speakers instead of 4 speakers
USB 3.1 not thunderbolt
this is what I explained in the beginning lol. If you want to buy brand new, this is what you should get IF you want a big-screen iPad that isn't gonna cost more than $1000+. If you want to buy used or refurb, def get the M2 iPad Pro or even M1 iPad Pro 12.9"
@@HeyMarkL not used or refurbished, the new iPad pro m2 13" is being sold for 200$ more not 400$ as what u have mentioned at the end of the video.
Well the difference for me was $150 USD and also a $100 gift card. So basically $250
And with that $100 I bought a pencil pro.
The air is more than enough for my needs
@@hazadoor it's more than enough for many people but the screen difference is a deal breaker for many who got used to 120hz, cheaper android tablets are using 120hz displays.
iPad mac was so cool 🤩
Loved this review
Should i upgrade from ipad 10 to this one?
Why not if you've got the money
What I don’t like
I have to get a new pen
Bro, why did you add grain to review video 😅
WOULD U RECOMMEND UPGRADING FROM IPAD 10.2 9th gen? or should i go with the pro?
If you are buying new and you can save money by going with Air, then absolutely go for it. But if you have extra cash, the new Pro is nice. Video on that coming soon!
What’s the joystick brand and does it has special adapter for it
Is the magic keyboard for yung m2 ipad pro 12.9 works well to the ipad air 6th gen 13inches?
Yes, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro M2 Magic Keyboard will work with M2 iPad Air 13-inches :)
@@HeyMarkL thank you💕💕
Does your iPad Air 24 also heat up everyday when using apps and other things ? Apple says those are normal.. warm but just a little!
Totally normal getting warm. Haven’t had it get uncomfortably hot.
Yes ! Because mine does get warm every single day from usage such as taking notes for hours and hours or studying for hours so I guess the iPad is making lots of effort to work that’s why. And Apple also says that when it overheats the iPad has a protection mode to stop you from using the device and once it cools down it’s fine.
@@HeyMarkLI appreciate your response !
Thank you Sir! 😀
I like the video but stop putting yourself more than the product in videos.. kinda distracting
lol 😂 thank you? But wtf haha I’ll make the videos how I want to. This is a creative art form. I do what I want.
@@HeyMarkL😅 Then I am here actually enjoying to see someone speaking to me inbetween the footage ^^ Great video!
I just want people to share my thought that "Its 2024, 60hz doesn't even make sense, can we get atleast 120hz (pro motion) for ipad air and upgrade pro displays with something like pro motion plus/max (144hz)?? Can we do that apple please??
Can I use the Apple Pencil 1. with this iPad ?
No, but you can use the Apple Pencil (USB-C) or Apple Pencil Pro. 1 & 2 are not supported.
@@HeyMarkL thank you.
awesome vid! I still have an iPad Air with M1! is it worth upgrading to this?
I don’t think so! If you want Pencil Pro support or bigger screen then sure. But I think you’re more than fine with what you have.
I just upgraded this past weekend. Mainly for new camera placement and pencil pro. What I wasn’t expecting is how great the display is. If you can swing it I recommend the upgrade. Getting 310.00 plus a 100 gc had me walking away with a new iPad and new pencil for 415.00. No brainer.
8:16 I don't believe the iPad Air has quad speakers. There are 4 grills, but only 2 speakers.
Stereo speakers, but two openings on both top and bottom :) I'll confirm with Apple though if they are quad speakers, but I'm pretty sure they are.
Hey! So I confirmed with them and it is in fact two speakers, apologies on my end on that! The speakers still sound very very good nonetheless.
iPad OS is still too limited.
hard agree on this, same point I'll say in my iPad Pro review which is coming very soon!
Too limited for what - some super niche application that used by 30 people? Many, many pros and average consumers alike use iPads for all kind of work and leisure. Just because it may not be able to utilize the absolute craziest software available doesn’t mean it’s limited.
@@housepianistagree
you are crazy bro, 13 inch ipad with 60hz, crazy on 2024
crazy how the average 'consumers' don't care about having 120Hz though. It's the overall experience.
I just bought a 13” AIR. Coming from a 2020 IPP that was cracked. Received a $400 credit and didn’t want to buy a new keyboard.
I took advantage of Apples back to school program that was $50 off and a $100 GC that I put towards a new Pencil Pro. For me the landscape camera was the deciding factor over the M1 Pro refurb for similar cost.
Congrats on the pick up! That landscape camera really is a game changer. Especially as someone who uses the FT camera a ton!
